Copied exactly from my company requested review: 3.5 rounded down. I think we were probably less irritated by the things below than others, but they're worth noting and were part of our experience. Most of the "not great" things we experienced could be solved with minor upkeep or attention, and some stuff just needs to be upgraded. Cobwebs and dust are EVERYWHERE. They're clinging to all the woodwork in the bedroom, in the toilet alcove it's very intense up the sides of the walls, the plunger handle looked like a Halloween decoration (which we thankfully didn't need to use). They're on the bedroom walls and ceiling. The track lights and decorations had an insane level of dust visible from the floor level. The windows were dirty, which is a real shame since they are the selling feature of the cabin. The floor behind the bathroom sink looks like it has never been cleaned since it was built (I only noticed because I saw it while standing in the shower). The bathroom floor on the whole and the bottom of the tub could use a deep scrubbing as there's lots of ground in dirt from age. The lint trap in the dryer should really be replaced - it's all but totally destroyed and it's really a fire risk. You can see the huge amount of lint that's caught in the dryer behind the broken screen. The TVs and Chromecasts are connected using cheap extension cords like a college boys dorm room. Things that would be some level of investment (large and small) that would increase the stay: The doors didn't close well, there was too much furniture/it was oversized for the space. The hot tub cover could stand to be replaced because it does smell pretty intensely until it's removed, the mattress is INSANELY worn out with a huge dip in the middle. The deck and porch will soon really need repairs. Neither of us tried the jetted tub because the jets did not inspire confidence (but I can't attest they are actually dirty in any way). There are literally two non coffee mug glasses in the cabinet, which I have never encountered anywhere else. The shower curtain liner has mold/mildew on it. The good: things that *had* to be clean were clean (toilets, counter tops, tables, shower, general floors). For two people there were enough towels. The hot tub worked and was enjoyable. The water pressure was on par with what I'm used to that high in the mountains, and the hot water was hot and didn't run out. The view was incredible and exactly as shown. Check in and check out was a breeze. Directions to the cabin were clear from the company and there was adequate signage. I'm saying that I would recommend your company because I don't think it's worth tanking your ratings over, but I would definitely tell people about my experience and I know tons of people that would discount everything because of the dust and cobwebs alone.

Afterglow Cabin Introduce

Are you dreaming of a tranquil escape to the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, right here in Tennessee? Imagine waking up to breathtaking views, surrounded by nature's beauty. If a secluded cabin experience in Pigeon Forge is on your mind, then Afterglow Cabin might be just what you're looking for. This cabin offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the serene landscape that draws so many to our beloved East Tennessee.

Afterglow Cabin presents itself as a rustic retreat, designed for those who appreciate stunning vistas and a sense of privacy. It aims to provide a cozy and memorable stay amidst the natural splendor of the Smokies. While it boasts an "incredible view" that is "exactly as shown," and a functioning hot tub that guests have found "enjoyable," it's worth noting that some recent guests have provided feedback regarding areas that could benefit from additional attention to detail.

Specific comments from past visitors highlight aspects like the need for more thorough cleaning, particularly concerning cobwebs and dust in various areas, and deep scrubbing in certain bathroom sections. There were also mentions of minor upkeep needs, such as a dryer lint trap replacement, dirty windows that unfortunately obscure the prime "selling feature" of the cabin's view, and some furniture being oversized for the space. However, guests have confirmed that essential areas like "toilets, countertops, tables, shower, general floors" were indeed clean. The "hot water was hot and didn't run out," and water pressure was "on par with what I'm used to that high in the mountains." Crucially, "check-in and check-out was a breeze," and "directions to the cabin were clear from the company and there was adequate signage." The "bed was comfortable," and for two people, "there were enough towels." These details are shared to provide a comprehensive and transparent overview for future guests, allowing you to set realistic expectations and ensure Afterglow Cabin aligns with your desired mountain getaway experience.

Location and Accessibility

Afterglow Cabin is nestled at 2340 Panther Way, Pigeon Forge, TN 37876, USA. This address places it in the scenic and sought-after Pigeon Forge area of the Great Smoky Mountains. The location is a key selling point for those seeking a true mountain retreat, offering a sense of seclusion and incredible panoramic views that define the region.

Accessing a mountain cabin can sometimes be an adventure in itself. While the "directions to the cabin were clear from the company and there was adequate signage," prospective guests should be aware that, as one reviewer noted, a "car could not make it," suggesting the need for an SUV or a vehicle with good ground clearance for navigating the terrain. This is common for many cabins offering prime mountain views in the Smokies, as they are often situated on winding, sometimes unpaved or steep roads to achieve that elevated vantage point.

Despite its secluded feel, Afterglow Cabin is still conveniently located relative to Pigeon Forge's main attractions. While it offers a quiet escape, guests are typically just a short drive away from the Parkway, which is home to popular destinations like Dollywood, Dolly Parton's Stampede, Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud, and numerous shopping and dining options. This balance of peaceful mountain solitude and proximity to entertainment makes it an attractive choice for both relaxation and adventure. The cabin's elevated position is precisely what grants it those breathtaking views, so be prepared for a genuine mountain driving experience to reach your picturesque destination.

Services Offered

As a private cabin rental, Afterglow Cabin operates differently from a traditional hotel, focusing more on providing a self-sufficient living space. Based on guest reviews, here are the implied services and amenities that are typically available:

  • Self Check-in/Check-out: Guests reported that "check-in and check-out was a breeze," indicating a smooth, likely keyless or remote process for arrival and departure.

  • Furnished Living Space: The cabin comes equipped with furniture, including beds, sofas, and a coffee table, though some guests found the living room furniture to be "oversized for the space."

  • Kitchen Facilities: While not explicitly detailed, cabins typically include kitchen areas for self-catering. Guests noted there were "literally two non-coffee mug glasses in the cabinet," suggesting a basic provision of kitchenware.

  • Linens and Towels: "For two people there were enough towels," indicating that essential linens are provided.

  • Hot Tub: A "hot tub worked and was enjoyable," serving as a key amenity for relaxation. It's noted that the "hot tub cover could stand to be replaced because it does smell pretty intensely until it's removed."

  • Internet Access: Reviewers mentioned "TVs and Chromecasts," implying internet connectivity is available for streaming. However, the connection method (using "cheap extension cords") was noted as needing an upgrade.

  • Heating/Cooling: As expected, the cabin features air conditioning for guest comfort.

  • Laundry Facilities: A dryer is present, though the "lint trap in the dryer should really be replaced - it's all but totally destroyed and it's really a fire risk."

  • Hot Water: Guests confirmed that "the hot water was hot and didn't run out," which is crucial for a comfortable stay.

Features / Highlights

Afterglow Cabin offers several compelling features that draw visitors seeking a genuine Smoky Mountain experience:

  • Incredible Mountain Views: This is consistently highlighted as the cabin's strongest asset. The "view was incredible and exactly as shown," providing stunning panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains, which is the primary reason many choose a cabin getaway in this region.

  • Secluded Mountain Setting: Located on Panther Way, the cabin offers a sense of privacy and tranquility away from the bustling Pigeon Forge Parkway, allowing for a truly peaceful retreat amidst nature.

  • Private Hot Tub: The hot tub provides a relaxing amenity, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring or simply enjoying the mountain air, even with noted issues about the cover.

  • Working Appliances (Core Functionality): Essential elements like toilets, countertops, tables, showers, and general floors were reported to be clean. The hot tub worked, and water pressure and hot water supply were reliable.

  • Bedroom Jetted Tub: One reviewer mentioned a "tub in bedroom," though they did not use it due to concerns about the jets. This feature, if fully operational, can add a luxurious touch to the stay.

  • Outdoor Deck/Porch: The cabin features a deck and porch, which are vital for enjoying the outdoor environment and views. However, guests noted that the "deck and porch will soon really need repairs," and there were concerns about a "piece of railing missing and others not fastened," which impacted their willingness to allow children on the deck.

  • Comfortable Bed: One guest specifically noted that the "bed was comfortable," which is a crucial aspect for a good night's sleep, though another reviewer found the "mattress is INSANELY worn out with a huge dip in the middle."

I don't think a car could make it need a suv. View was good and bed was comfortable. Bath was filthy. Cobwebs, dirt and bugs in light, vent didn't work, probably because so full of dirt. Decorated like a cheep hotel not a cabin. Night stand blocks bathroom door. You'll move it into the bathroom first time you run into it. Two sofas and oversize coffee table makes it hard to walk around living room. Wouldn't allow kids on deck, piece of railing missing and others not fastened. Only thing tub in bedroom is good for is to put all the pillows on the bed in.

Booked this cabin about a month ago and drove 4 hours to get to it. Management decided to tell us 15 minutes before we arrived that the hot tub was broken and there was nothing they could do about it but refund us $50 off of a $500 bill. Do yourself a favor and book with a different company.

Just left their today what a gross cabin looked like then went to yard sales to furnish it place was filthy cob webs dust everywhere have been sneezing since we checked in hot tub smelled So bad could not even sit in soaker tube pumps out rust and dirt. Tv was not able to even get a channel no forks fridge was a rusty rack seriously motel 6 would be better ! Also they don’t show it in the pic but huge cabin right next to you ! Afterglow is nothing special. Cheaply decorated. Filthy windows, haven't been washed in months. Take your own knives and your own coffee pot. The coffee pot takes 45 minutes to brew one pot. The view is great, but there is a large 3-story cabin being built literally feet from Afterglow and the crew works on Saturdays. I'll pay more money next time to stay somewhere nicer.
