The room we stayed in was so small for 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids). The beds were pushed up against one side with maybe 2 feet between them. In this day and age, everyone has phones and accessories to be charged, and there were only 2 outlets that we below the beds up against the wall, so nonetheless hard to get too! Not including the one behind the tv stand and the one in the bathroom. There was no remote to the TV, and the plug in the sink was pushed down with no knob to push it up to drain. Thank goodness it was clean, but how hard is it to clean a room 10x10 with 2 double beds??

Located at 7393 South Ave, Boardman, OH 44512, USA, this hotel is part of the extensive Wyndham Hotels & Resorts portfolio, suggesting a certain standard of brand-level consistency. The hotel can be reached via phone at (330) 333-2637 or mobile at +1 330-333-2637.
The environment of Baymont by Wyndham Boardman is positioned as a convenient base for exploring the Boardman area. It is nestled in a quiet location off I-680, offering easy access to nearby attractions and business centers. It's surrounded by various restaurants, providing dining options within close proximity. Specifically, it's about 7 miles from Youngstown State University and the Butler Institute of American Art, and 10 miles from Mercy Health—St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and Mill Creek Wick Recreation Area. While the hotel website emphasizes its recent remodeling in 2022, some guest reviews offer a contrasting view. One guest noted that despite the supposed remodel, bathrooms were rusty and windows were broken, raising concerns about the actual state of the renovation. The property is a 2-story building, and notably, it does not have an elevator, which can be a significant environmental factor for guests with heavy luggage or mobility challenges, as highlighted by a customer who had to carry a 45-pound suitcase up to the second floor. The overall ambiance aims for a contemporary, non-smoking environment.
In terms of services, Baymont by Wyndham Boardman offers a range of standard amenities expected from a midscale hotel. Key services include a complimentary breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and free self-parking. The hotel officially states that its "Baymont Breakfast Corner" provides a "free breakfast of eggs, cereal, fruit, and more." However, recent guest experiences contradict this, with one review stating the breakfast was "mostly just bread and carbs—no eggs, even though they claimed eggs would be served on weekends. They didn’t." This discrepancy is a significant point of concern for potential guests relying on a full breakfast offering. Additionally, the same guest reported a lack of basic in-room amenities such as hand soap and tissues, with staff suggesting shampoo as an alternative for hand soap, indicating significant cost-cutting measures. Maid service, advertised as daily, was reportedly delayed for several days, requiring the guest to raise concerns to receive service. The hotel does offer a 24-hour front desk, a business center, and laundry facilities. It is also a pet-friendly hotel, allowing two pets per room for an extra nightly fee, which is a valuable service for travelers with animals. There is a fitness center for guests wishing to maintain their workout routine.
The features of the rooms at Baymont by Wyndham Boardman are designed to offer a comfortable stay, though guest experiences regarding functionality and space vary. Each non-smoking guest room typically includes a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a microwave, a mini-refrigerator, a coffee/tea maker, a desk, ironing amenities, a hairdryer, and bath products. However, the size of the rooms has been a common complaint, described as "so small for 4 people" and "extremely small," with beds pushed against walls and limited space between them. Storage space is also reported as lacking, with no closets. Practical issues like hard-to-reach outlets (only two below the beds), a missing TV remote, and a clogged sink with a non-functional plug have been raised by guests. While the hotel's website suggests "comfortable rooms," and some reviews mentioned the room being clean, the overall impression from recent feedback points to a noticeable decline in the quality and maintenance of room features. The hotel was built in 1973 and last renovated in 2022, but the reviews suggest that these renovations might not have addressed all underlying issues or maintained a high standard of quality. Connecting/adjoining rooms can be requested, subject to availability.
From a promotional perspective, Baymont by Wyndham Boardman, being part of the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts chain, participates in the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program. Members can save between 10-20% on stays at participating hotels, and various promotions like "Summer Sale" discounts for multiple nights are often available. Guests are encouraged to check the Wyndham Hotels website directly for the most current offers, including discounts for AAA members, AARP members, and corporate travelers. The hotel's location is highlighted as being convenient to attractions such as the Covelli Center for concerts, Southern Park Mall for shopping, and Lanterman's Mill for historical tours. Nature enthusiasts can visit Mill Creek Park or Fellows Riverside Gardens. Despite these potential draws, the negative guest feedback regarding fundamental aspects like breakfast quality, room amenities, cleanliness, and service consistency could significantly impact its promotional appeal. While the hotel advertises features like free WiFi, breakfast, and pet-friendly policies, prospective guests should carefully weigh these against the recent critical reviews to set realistic expectations for their stay. It's always advisable to contact the hotel directly for specific details on amenities and to confirm current service offerings, especially concerning the breakfast and in-room provisions.

Mar 15, 2025 · Jammae ValenciaThe level of poor service and cost-cutting here is truly shocking. Wyndham should reconsider this operator’s license. They don’t provide hand soap, and when I asked, they suggested using shampoo instead. There are no tissues in the bathroom, with no elevator, I had to carry a 45-pound suitcase up to the second floor. The sink was clogged, and maintenance was nonexistent. Maid service, which was supposed to be daily, didn’t happen until 4 days after I checked in, only after I raised my concerns. The rooms are extremely small, with no closets or storage space. They advertise breakfast, but it’s mostly just bread and carbs—no eggs, even though they claimed eggs would be served on weekends. They didn’t. The coffee cups have no lids, and there’s no Stevia or Sweet’n Low. The coffee stirrers are so small they vanish in the cup. Everything feels incredibly cheap—corners are cut everywhere. The bathrooms are rusty, the windows are broken, and this is after they supposedly remodeled. It was a very disappointing experience .
Apr 06, 2025 · Dmitry ADo not book this hotel!!! We made the mistake of booking. From the moment we walked in the door, the whole place reeked of weed-not something I want my kids and baby inhaling. Obviously they are not enforcing the no smoking policy. Checked into the room to find some sort of gross substance smeared on the walls, the smoke detector hanging by a questionable wire out of the ceiling, and bugs on the wall. The room itself was so small you could hardly walk in between the two beds. Needless to say, we did NOT stay here and unfortunately had to book another place.
Apr 11, 2025 · Natalie GidcumbSmall rooms, but very clean. There was an issue with water from the room above where i was scheduled to stay running down into my room. The staff went out of their way to find me another room for the night, even though it was fully booked. I appreciated their efforts!
Mar 24, 2025 · Cathy DalfolWhole building smelled like weed. Was able to hear other guests in other rooms. The breakfast was questionable with cold cereal plain stale doughnuts and a waffle maker with no batter, let alone the foam plates and small plastic cups. No elevator so made carrying stuff to the room difficult as well as not being handicap friendly. Water pressure in the shower was less than ideal. The bed however was comfortable but the small square pillows made it uncomfortable to relax and the room was small but for what it cost for 3 days and 2 nights wasn't expecting a whole lot there's more I could say but it's not worth the effort next time I'll just spend the extra money and go to the holiday inn across the street
