I booked 3 cabins for a bachelorette trip and Birchcliff completely exceeded my expectations. If I’m being honest the reviews of this place made me nervous prior to check in, but once we arrived I was immediately relieved. The location is beautiful, secluded, quiet and relaxing. Check in was easy, Wendy was awesome and ensured everything was correct with pricing as I was unsure what my remaining balance was because I couldn’t find the email. I booked cabin #9 and two old time studio cabins for 4. They were all right next to each other, close to the pool, petting zoo, and hiking trail. Upon entering the cabins I was so happy with how cute they were. They all had fully stocked kitchens and anything else you may need was available in the office which was also a little store. The cabins were cleaner than most hotel rooms, keeping in mind that they are in the woods and a few bugs just comes with the territory. The fire pits were stocked with wood and Wendy started fires every night. Although we didn’t have kids in our group the entire property was extremely family friendly. There several outdoor activities for kids to keep themselves busy and the entire property was safe for kids to wander around without being worried about safety. I never felt paranoid about keeping my cabin or car locked, which was very nice as someone visiting from Milwaukee. Thank you again to Wendy for everything! I cannot recommend this place enough and I will definitely be a repeat visitor!

Birchcliff Resort distinguishes itself from the large, hotel-style resorts of the Dells by offering a more rustic and intimate experience. Jul 20, 2025 · Isabel LachmanI normally don't leave negative reviews because I myself am a business owner. However, this is cause for attention. I knew from the moment we made it to this resort that there would be an issue. I didn't want to blame it on our race (African American) because I wanted to give them the benefit of doubt and a chance to prove me wrong. We were frowned upon the moment we set foot on this property. There were no check in or out instructions sent which was the start of the problem or a final billing receipt. Other problems were minor enough not to mention and I sent a personal not public review to the owner just to make them aware of our issues and treatment, which I thought was admirable. However, today I was charged an additional $276 intensive cleaning fee when I myself went through the unit and personally cleaned each room to the point there was not a piece of paper to be seen. We even swept and wiped down counters, bagged all of our towels and trash so the cleaning crew wouldn't have much to do.Granted the toilet was clogged due to a teen being sick but I reported it for no one to respond. They said the carpet has vomit but that was actually from their shower leaking into the carpet which I reported as well with no response. I'm glad I took after pictures to protect not only myself and my business but my race as well because I knew they would try to fabricate lies. It's unfortunate that we have to deal with such treatment when we're paying citizens. I even tipped the staff after being so rudely treated because I'm teaching my youth not to react to such treatments because it's to be expected. I even mentioned coming back with more of my program teens later this summer but now I will go out of my way to inform whoever needed about this establishment. It's quite sad!
Jun 16, 2025 · Dakisha DelaneyBirchcliff Resort was the best, most relaxing vacation we have spent in years. The duplex loft rooms were perfect for us and our two grand children. Our one bedroom cabin loft room was modern, very clean and provided a rustic cabin feel in a beautiful nature setting that can not be duplicated in the corporate hotels and resorts on the main thoroughfare. Wendy and her staff were very accommodating and made sure our stay was excellent. It was only minutes from downtown Dells and other Lake Delton attractions but provided a welcome escape from the crowd in glorious nature. It was nice to detach from the phone, and see the kids happy to put down the devices to enjoy the many activities provided at Birchcliff. We played basketball, tennis, ping-pong and horseshoes with all the equipment provided by the resort and the swims in the pool were refreshing. The fire pits were fully stocked with wood and gathering around to a roaring evening fire was perfect with smores. We would highly recommend Birchcliff Resort to reconnect with nature, enjoy great accommodations and to have active outdoor, non-aminated family fun.
May 28, 2025 · Mike WienkeLooking at the reviews, we didn’t have high expectations, but we were very happy overall with our stay! We heard from other guests that the older cabins didn’t have great AC, but the loft style cabin we stayed in had an amazing AC unit that cooled down the whole cabin very quickly. The pool had a lot of bugs in it, but there was a net we used to clean out a bunch and my kids still loved it! The goats were adorable, and even came right up to our cabin. Wendy was kind enough to light the fire pit closest to us a couple of nights, even though we were the only ones on that side of the resort. As far as cleanliness, this is where I had the lowest expectations based on other reviews. Yes, the carpets could use a deep clean, and yes there were a few dead bugs (and a couple live ones). But we expected that! We brought cleaner, paper towels and bug spray. It’s a cabin in a wooded area, this wasn’t that unexpected. The counters and other important areas were clean! The fridge was spotless. Overall my main complaint (and not a huge deal) was the low water pressure and low shower head. We made it work though, and overall had a great trip! Was it perfect? No. Did we have fun? YES! Would we stay there again? Yes, we would, specifically in a loft duplex - my kids loved the upstairs area, and it looked so cool inside! And the Noah’s Ark water park passes were a great perk!
