I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to Anne, Erin, and Catlin Gardens. The gardens and hotel are absolutely beautiful! I was a little concerned because of the bankruptcy rumors but was quickly put at ease by the professionalism and willingness to accommodate our every wish. Anne and Erin have been so caring and instrumental in making our wedding weekend absolutely perfect! For the past nine months Anne has answered e-mails and reached out to me and my guests and has basically gone above and beyond to make sure every detail was taken care of to my satisfaction. From the moment we met Corey, our maître d, at our rehearsal, my pre-wedding nerves went away. He had read our comprehensive file from Anne and knew exactly how I wanted everything set up. (We were even able to get a sneak peek that night of our set-up reception!) Corey, still went over all the details and answered all of my questions. He was super amazing on our wedding day and coordinated everything calmly and efficiently. I really felt comfortable leaving all of the details in his capable hands. He was there every moment I needed him, giving me updates, and checking on how I was doing. It was truly exceptional service! We had our rehearsal dinner in the Grotto the Friday evening before. Not only was it reasonably priced but the food was absolutely delicious! Erin is an amazing chef and she was willing to make substitutions and accommodate the different dietary needs and wants of our families. The two servers for a rehearsal dinner were so attentive and took amazing care of all of our guests! I was really thankful that Catlin does not call weather changes till the day of the wedding so even though it was originally predicted to rain we wound up having a beautiful ceremony outside! The gardens and the fountains were gorgeous. We had a beautiful ceremony under the tent. I cannot wait to see our gorgeous pictures! I was also very thankful for Rachel who made sure to feed me appetizers during pictures. I was starving by that point and you hear brides who say they never got to eat on their wedding day but Catlin made sure I had food! Cocktail hour on the patio outside of Jack's Pub was very nice and from that point on our bartender, Andrew, made sure I never wanted for a drink. Our reception was AMAZING. We had great food, great music, and the room and décor was beautiful! I cannot say enough about our delicious food. The portions were great and the food was amazing!!! I had a ton of fun at my wedding!!! The after party in Jack's Pub was a super big hit with all of our guests. Again, great food and just a fun time. I'm told there was even an after after party in my sister's room! The hotel is so beautiful and sleeping on that bed with those pillows was amazing. I was so happy to not have to worry about any guests driving home and everyone said how gorgeous the hotel was! We also had a delicious "Breakfast with the Bride and Groom". The breakfast was a great way to finish off the weekend and talk to all of our friends and family. There was also a delicious omelet station manned by the super sweet Rachel! It was truly the perfect three days and we would not have changed a single thing in our wedding! Anne spent so much time making sure everything was perfect. Erin customized our menu and made us an amazing cupcake cake. These two ladies are truly fabulous and genuinely care about making your day AMAZING and IT WAS!

The mention of a "blonde owner completely inebriated and very crazy" is an outlier and does not reflect the consistent professionalism described by most guests regarding the key management and service staff.

The hotel component, envisioned to "strengthen Catlin Gardens' position as a destination wedding venue," offers "fine linens, fireplaces, jacuzzi tubs and a fitness center," aiming to provide a luxurious stay for wedding guests and serve as a meeting destination for corporate events. Aug 19, 2014 · Christina BVery nice decor. Inept front desk staff, was supposed to give wedding gift bags to all guest checking in with the party - by the end of the night many bags still remained. Very miffed about a two dollar charge for water as well... the coffee pots need to be cleaned, as well as the tub needs to have a through rising of bleach. Bartenders were cocky. Front desk woman with glasses very unfriendly. Blonde owner completely inebriated and very crazy.
Sep 25, 2014 · Ni BruWe booked the facility for my daughter's wedding about one year ago. In the fall of 2013 we discovered that the Catlin Gardens property had been placed in foreclosure for non payment of its mortgage. Concerned that the property would not be available for my daughter's wedding in Sept, 2014, we inquired from Catlin management about the status of the financial position. We received no answer. My daughter booked an appointment to personally clarify the status, and after a long drive, the person she was scheduled to meet was "Not Available". The appointment had been changed by Catlin 3 times to make sure her trip would be productive. Unable to receive any response to numerous requests to clarify the situation of the foreclose, we decided to re-book the wedding to another location. We advised Catlin of this decision and asked for a refund of our $1500 deposit because of the uncertainty of the situation. After three requests, we have received no answer. In my mind, this raises serious doubts about the business ethics of the management. My daughter really liked the facility and was disappointed by the need to re-locate, but management's lack of response to our inquires about the foreclosure was unacceptable.
May 15, 2014 · alan thompsonTerrible customer service, time and time again. They told me check-in time was 3. I arrived at 3:30 and my room still was not ready. The wedding I was attending was at 4, which didn't give me much time to get settled. I had presents and a few bags and when I mentioned this the woman at the front desk said she could get me a trolley. I had to haul that trolley up to my room by myself, in 5 inch heels. This hotel starts at 200 a night, by the way. Throughout my stay, things were broken. The elevator, for instance. The coffee machine. The newlyweds didn't even get to have a cup of coffee the morning after their wedding. The biggest inconvenience for me was the hotel charged a credit card I specifically asked them not to charge. My boyfriend had already supplied his credit card for our room online and he asked me to check us in, as he was in the wedding party and preoccupied. They insisted on a card from me. I gave them one and stressed several times i DID NOT WANT THIS CARD CHARGED. They said "of course" and "you pay when you check out" but those were clearly lies. When we went to check out they said "you're all set," meaning my card had already been charged, without asking. This was a bank account I was trying to close. To add insult to injury, a few weeks later I was charged an extra 2 dollars on that card for the 2 water bottles in our room we drank. The bottles were unlabeled and we had no idea they cost money. This classy hotel charged me 200 a night and wouldn't even provide us with water. I called the hotel to discuss the water incident with them. I was told I would receive a call from the manager. Surprise surprise, I never got the call. I've had better service at a Motel 8.
Sep 30, 2013 · Green .TeaThe rooms in the hotel were large and well-appointed. Compared to other hotels in teh vicinity this is the one you want if you want something comfortable. The pub downstairs seemed good as well. We were there for a wedding, and they did a very nice ob taking care of that aspect from my perspective.
