I stay for a Chetola Chillaxing 2-week sabbatical every year in a two-bedroom timeshare condo. As a Travel Advisor, I stay in some fabulous resorts all over the world, but this place is my favorite! The grounds are well-maintained, the location is perfect, it is safe and quiet. The, restaurant, bar, lake, trails and recreation center amenities create an all-inclusive atmosphere with area activities abounding. The Cherokee name of Chetola describes it perfectly, "Haven of Rest." I own several weeks and rent them out on occasion. best vacation ever and trust me, I travel a lot.
Jun 18, 2025 · Bonita PickettSpent 3 days there for a wedding weekend. Great place and location. The staff was amazing and did a great job even when addressing a problem. The room was nicely furnished and the bed was very comfortable plus the blankets and comforter were great quality. The room was quite and the Internet service was good.
Jun 01, 2025 · itdiscipleMy husband and I took our first vacation in years this past week. It would have been nice to have been told while booking or at least mentioned on your website that you were draining the lake. Had we known this, we would have chosen another resort to stay at. We rented a condo in which we found old goldfish crackers under the bed from another guest and stains on the sheets which tells me your house keepers don’t do a good job and the condos aren’t throughly cleaned. The shower was also very stained and gross. Our porch light was burned out, we contacted someone and let them know but no one came to change it in the 3 days we were there making it very difficult to see to get back inside at night. We spent a lot of money and we were extremely disappointed. We will not be coming back. Do better. Please update your website about the lake.
Jun 12, 2025 · Jane DyeI have always wanted to stay here in BR, so we spent 3 nights this past weekend. The exterior of the property (landscaping) are lovely but it ends there. The entire place is dated and TIRED. There have been no updates in years that we could see, and it had the feel of the 1970's. We checked in on a Thursday at 6, and upon entering the Timberlake Bar to order a snack the very grouchy woman bartender said the kitchen was closed - due to the rain! She said to drive into town for food. WOW! People were eating in the restaurant! The front desk person said he had not heard of that. The ice machine was broken. All staff were grumpy or just non existent. Not a welcoming place for the entire 3 days we were there. The pool was murky and hot tub cool. Spa was closed. Someone needs to buy this place and make it into the something special that they advertise. Do not recommend.
Jun 16, 2025 · Sarah JamesGreat classic lodge to bring the family. The staff is amazing and continually went above and beyond. There was another family vacationing with us and the restaurant was very accommodating, allowing us to seat the kids and adults separately. We stayed in a king suite with a balcony. The room was spacious, and there were plenty of extra blankets. While the room could use a bit of freshening up, my only real complaint was the shower water temperature. Despite being in the mountains, I couldn't get the water to warm up for an early departure.
