By FAR the worst experience I’ve EVER had in a hotel, I booked a single bed room I was given a double queen room because they are “out of room” I checked in around 7 and then left to do some things. I came back around 10:30 to a hotel room that was disgusting ( random stains throughout the bathroom ) fire alarms ripped out of the ceiling and a shower that doesn’t even get warm let alone hot then the tub would continue to fill and not drain. Come to find out they don’t have an overnight person so I was SOL for the entire night. When I went to complain during business hours there was not a single soul in the office, my suspicion is they know what they are doing.

The environment of the resort is typically characterized by a more expansive property, potentially with gardens, outdoor spaces, and dedicated recreational zones. Online information suggests the resort offers a "seasonal motor inn" style accommodation, with rooms and suites. An ideal resort environment would feature well-maintained grounds, clean common areas, and aesthetically pleasing surroundings that contribute to a relaxing and enjoyable vacation atmosphere. The property is described as having a "family-friendly" environment, implying amenities and a general atmosphere conducive to stays with children. In terms of services, Colonel Williams Resort and Suites is expected to offer a variety of amenities designed to enhance the guest experience. Promotional materials might also mention competitive pricing, as one review notes the cost as a positive factor.
However, it is crucial to consider actual customer reviews to gain a balanced and realistic understanding of the guest experience at Colonel Williams Resort and Suites. The reviews present a mixed picture. One highly negative review describes "By FAR the worst experience I’ve EVER had in a hotel." This guest was given a double queen room instead of their booked single bed room due to the hotel being "out of room." Upon returning to the room later, they found it "disgusting" with "random stains throughout the bathroom," "fire alarms ripped out of the ceiling," and a shower that "doesn’t even get warm let alone hot," with the tub continuously filling and not draining. A significant issue raised was the absence of "an overnight person," leaving the guest "SOL for the entire night." When attempting to complain during business hours, "not a single soul" was in the office, leading to suspicion of intentional avoidance. This review paints a picture of severe cleanliness issues, significant maintenance problems, and a critical lack of overnight staff and responsiveness.
In contrast, another review describes a "pleasant" September stay, assuming the resort is "under newer management & they're slowly making improvements." This guest found their room "clean & tidy if not a bit sparse for amenities." They also noted the "odd" office hours, inconvenient for late arrivals or early departures, but assumed this was due to September being "the end of the tourist season" and that the resort would be "more staffed during busier times." This reviewer stated they "would definitely stay here again, based on cost & location." This feedback suggests that the experience might be inconsistent, with potential improvements being made, but still highlighting issues with amenities and staff availability, especially outside peak season. For users considering Colonel Williams Resort and Suites via "Hotels Near Of Me," it is vital to weigh these conflicting accounts, recognizing that while the location and cost may be appealing to some, others have faced significant challenges with cleanliness, room functionality, and staff accessibility.

Sep 22, 2024 · Michael DomingosBooked this place just for somewhere to sleep after a day on the lake. Wasn’t looking for anything fancy, obviously considering we got the room for $71. But I’ll tell you what I definitely was not expecting until I read more reviews. Once we got there the lady at the front desk was very unpleasant and completely ignored us. We got our key and when we walked into our room we were hit with the over whelming smell of cigarettes. There was one over head light in the whole room barely enough to light the place up. The rooms are very outdated but honestly that was one of the better parts of this room. Looked like there was mildew or mold on the ceiling above the shower, and we were only provided a small shampoo and a small bar of soap, and two extremely small towels. Once we got back for the night we were just going to pull through even though everything smelt like cigarettes. We started reading other people’s reviews they left of this place, and instantly we began regretting our decision. The reviews went on and on about bed bugs. Yes BED BUGS! So I got concerned… as always I do a light check when we first get there but this made me really start checking. I lifted the mattress completely off and there they were a few scattered between the mattress and box frame. This place is GROSS. We booked another hotel down the street instantly, and packed our stuff up and left the key in the door around midnight. This place is disgusting. Unless you want little friends crawling around with you at night do not book this place!
Sep 16, 2024 · Kaylynn AmelioWe reserved a room for two nights to attend the Warrensburg Garage Sale weekend. Upon entering the room with two queen beds, the room looked good. Beds were beautifully made, and there was a dining table with two chairs. HOWEVER; as it turned out, not so great. The sheets were like sleeping on sandpaper. There was 4 bath towels, but no washcloths, hand towels or bath mat. The floors were gritty to walk on, and I forgot my slippers. I will say that the shower was awesome, but the sink had no counter to place any items. The cobwebs hung like lace curtains in all areas. The room was not like the picture online. There were no pictures on the walls, no bedside clock, and the remote for Netflix & other channels did not work at all There was no coffee pot or iron. After looking at the amenities again, it did not mention those items. (Take note to check those things in the future)! After we returned Saturday night from Warrensburg, the room had not been serviced. The bed was still unmade, (not that I couldn't have made it myself), the wet towels were still in the bathroom and trash was still there. We went to the office to ask for towels and washcloths. The office was unlocked, but no one was there. I called out a couple of times and waited a few minutes. This was around 5:45 PM. The office is supposed to be open until 10:00 PM. We called the manager's number, but it went to voicemail. Left a message, but no return call. The indoor pool is supposed to be open until 10:00 PM. It was closed. I wouldn't recommend this place, but, sometimes during an event, you take what you can get. Good luck if you do stay here!
Oct 06, 2024 · Linda MunsonTerrible stay! Nothing like the photos on the booking site. Rooms are so small there is not room for a night table or a coffee maker. And there is a gap underneath the door. TV has no volume control. I went to use the VERY small hot tub but the water was brown. There was a couple outside of the pool room arguing like it was a Walmart parking lot. Walls are so paper thin that we could hear the fireworks the jackass decided to set off at 10pm like we were 10 feet from where they were launching. With the photo of the playground, it is thought this would be a family friendly place to stay.
