First, I have to say my stay overall was good. However, upon arrival I wasn't advised that there would be a hold placed on my card. Prior to arrival I contacted the hotel to confirm my reservation. I wasn't told anything about any additional charges/holds. I proceeded to ask why I wasn't notified prior they stated they don't tell guest that for whatever reason. If I had know that I would've been prepared. I was able to stop by the on-site restaurant. The food wasn't so great and Kira and Scotty were the best people ever. They were very inviting and friendly. They were literally the best people within the hotel. They gave absolutely the best service even recommended places to check out during my stay. I'd definitely give them a 10/10. The rooms were well kept and fully stocked. I would say the beds are fairly small. Last but not least the shuttle driver(I forgot his name)but he was absolutely amazing. Oh I forgot to mention there was a lady who was in the restaurant who gave me a single rose for Mother's Day. Thank you!

May 17, 2025 · Tiffany HenceThis was one of the cleanest hotels that was rented in a long time. Restrooms and beds were to perfection. Friendly staff and very helpful. Hotel parking was very convenient. Walking distance to the market where we spent most of our time at. The shuttle bus was a plus too going to the river walk. Highly recommended if you are looking to stay at 5 star hotel. Price was reasonable. Go stay at the double tree by Hilton. You won't be disappointed.
Apr 28, 2025 · John CastilloI stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton in San Antonio for 2 nights and had a very disappointing experience, especially as a parent traveling with a 14-month-old baby. From the first night, I reported that the AC unit in my room was making loud noises, making it difficult for my baby to sleep. Despite multiple follow-ups, no one came to fix it for the entire duration of our stay. Throughout the stay, not a single service was provided—no towels were replaced, no cleaning was done, and not even the bedsheets were changed. This level of negligence is completely unacceptable, especially from a Hilton property. Breakfast was another letdown. There were absolutely no options for vegetarians. Worse, they refused to warm up milk for my baby, claiming they didn’t have a microwave-safe glass—hard to believe for a hotel of this brand. Overall, I do not recommend this hotel, especially if you’re traveling with family or a small child. The lack of basic hospitality and service was shocking. I had higher expectations from DoubleTree, but after this experience, I won’t be returning.
Jun 03, 2025 · Rashal ShrivastavaDuring the protests, this hotel hosted the National Guard. The entire hotel, including the pool, were occupied by the guards and felt like we were in a military base. That is ok. What annoyed me was the check in time is 4 pm and checkout time is 11 am. The hotel didn’t allow early checkin (even when I was willing to pay extra for the early check-in). They were rude about it and started checking in people right at 4 pm! By then, they had created a queue and most people were actually checked in much later than 4 pm, well past that 4 pm check in time. It is totally unacceptable. The hotel staff was overall unpleasant even when checking out. They were just minding their own business and talking among themselves. I said, “bye, have a good day” when I checked out and the hotel receptionist replied nothing. Not even a smile. Perhaps they are underpaid and hate their job. But this is unacceptable. Now, before the hotel posts their template reply to contact them via their phone, don’t bother. This review has everything you need to know. No need to expect me to review elsewhere or contact your phone number. The water in the room is $2/bottle, even for the members. Only Gold platinum members get it free. Double tree is known for its welcome cookies. I didn’t get those. Perhaps those guards ate mine. Close to UTSA main campus. That is why stayed here. Next time, I won’t. I would rather stay in Motel 6 or an actual military camp.
Jun 14, 2025 · Pradeeban KathiraveluI stayed here overnight on a work trip. The lobby and the restaurant are beautiful and inviting. The rooms are nice enough, though they are a bit dated and in some cases in a state of ill repair—see video of issues with bathroom sink faucet. It is great to find a place that has rooms with balconies. Yes, I would stay here again, although I would want to inspect my room first.
