had an extremely disappointing experience at this Econo Lodge Park and Fly. I arrived at 4:11 AM, and the shuttle driver saw me, drove past without stopping, and left. Frustrated, I went to the front desk, where the staff member called the driver back. However, as she started filling out my ticket, the driver yelled something from the door and left again without waiting a minute! This was incredibly unprofessional and left me stranded. To make matters worse, despite prepaying online at a discounted rate, I was informed by the front desk that I would owe additional money. The lack of coordination and poor customer service made this experience stressful and frustrating. What was the point of calling the driver back if he wasn’t going to wait? This situation was unacceptable, and while I understand budget accommodations come with limitations, basic courtesy and professionalism should not be one of them. You truly get what you pay for here—unfortunately, not much.
For individuals in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, or those planning to travel via Bradley International Airport (BDL) and actively searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Airport at 34 Old County Rd, Windsor Locks, CT 06096, USA, may appear as a low-cost option. The hotel can be reached via phone at (860) 623-2533 or +1 860-623-2533. The "Hotels Near Of Me" platform is designed to help local users find convenient services and goods. Econo Lodge, as a brand, typically targets budget-conscious travelers, often offering essential amenities at an affordable price point, frequently coupled with airport parking and shuttle services for travelers. However, an objective introduction to this specific location, based on recent customer reviews, necessitates a thorough examination of its environment, services, features, and promotional aspects, which in this instance, present significant areas of concern.
Firstly, let's consider the environment of the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Airport. Its location on Old County Road suggests it is situated in an area typically designed for commercial or logistical operations, especially given its proximity to the airport. This positioning makes it seemingly convenient for "park and fly" travelers. However, the external environment seems to have additional issues. One review explicitly mentions "shady stuff going on in the parking lot," to the extent that guests felt compelled to alert staff and suggest calling the police. This raises serious concerns about the safety and security of the parking area, which is a critical environmental factor for guests leaving their vehicles for extended periods while traveling. Inside the hotel, while no specific details about the physical state of rooms are provided, the overall frustrating experiences described by guests imply an environment that falls short of basic expectations for comfort and peace of mind.
In terms of services, the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Airport advertises itself, or is often booked through platforms, for its "park and fly" service, which crucially includes an airport shuttle. However, customer feedback on this core service is overwhelmingly negative. One traveler described an "extremely disappointing experience" where the "shuttle driver saw me, drove past without stopping, and left" at 4:11 AM. Even after the front desk called the driver back, the driver "yelled something from the door and left again without waiting a minute," leaving the guest stranded. This indicates a severe lack of professionalism and basic courtesy from the shuttle service. Another review details a similar issue: despite booking parking online, the guest was informed upon arrival that they "had to call if we were going to park there early in the morning," a rule that was not clearly disclosed during booking. After being told there was "no room on the shuttle" that was still "20+ minutes out," the guests had to "call an Uber and waste extra money and time and stress in getting to our flight." This highlights a significant failure in managing and communicating the shuttle service, leading to considerable inconvenience and added costs for guests relying on this key amenity.
Customer service at the front desk also receives heavy criticism. The interactions described were far from helpful or professional. One guest was met with an employee "pointing to a sign at the front that stated" the early morning call requirement, implying a defensive and unhelpful approach rather than a supportive one. The pre-paid booking issue, where a guest was informed they "would owe additional money" despite having paid online at a "discounted rate," speaks to a lack of coordination and transparency in billing, adding further stress. The general sentiment is that "basic courtesy and professionalism should not be" lacking, even for "budget accommodations," indicating that the staff's demeanor and actions did not meet fundamental customer service expectations. The response to the parking lot security concern—that "the manger which was coming on duty soon would do" the police call—also suggests a delayed and potentially insufficient response to serious guest concerns, further undermining confidence in the hotel's service and management.
Regarding features, the primary advertised feature of the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Airport appears to be its "park and fly" capability, allowing travelers to leave their vehicles while they are away. However, as detailed, the execution of the crucial shuttle service feature is highly problematic. The affordability of the hotel is implicitly a feature, as guests are often drawn by "cheap airport parking" or "discounted rate" bookings. However, the recurring sentiment is that "you truly get what you pay for here—unfortunately, not much," suggesting that the low price does not adequately compensate for the significant service failures and inconveniences. While the rooms themselves are not explicitly detailed in terms of their physical features, the overall negative experience implies that any basic comforts provided are overshadowed by the service issues.
From a promotional standpoint, the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Airport likely leverages its brand as a budget option near the airport, emphasizing its "park and fly" convenience. However, based on the customer reviews, any promotional claims regarding reliable shuttle service, transparent pricing, or professional customer care would be severely undermined by actual guest experiences. The reviews serve as a stark warning, particularly for users of "Hotels Near Of Me" who might be looking for a seamless airport experience. The repeated advice implied in the reviews is to be extremely cautious and perhaps reconsider, given the severe service failures and lack of professionalism. The hotel's appeal as a "cheap airport parking" option seems to come at a very high cost in terms of stress, inconvenience, and potentially unexpected expenses, making its promotional messaging highly suspect given the lived realities of its customers.
In conclusion, for local users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" for accommodation, especially those requiring airport parking and shuttle services near Bradley International Airport, the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites Airport at 34 Old County Rd, Windsor Locks, CT, presents a challenging option. While its location is geographically convenient for airport access and it may offer seemingly attractive low rates, the overwhelming customer feedback highlights severe deficiencies. Key concerns include an unreliable and unprofessional airport shuttle service, opaque pricing practices for pre-paid bookings, a lack of basic courtesy and professionalism from front desk staff, and potential security issues in the parking lot. These significant service failures and operational shortcomings severely diminish the value proposition, suggesting that guests may experience considerable stress, inconvenience, and unexpected costs. Prospective guests are strongly advised to consider these critical issues before booking, as the objective information available indicates a significant discrepancy between typical guest expectations and the actual experience at this hotel.

Mar 11, 2025 · Connie HarrisWe booked our parking through a website for cheap airport parking and nowhere on there, did it state we had to call if we were going to park there early in the morning. As soon as we walked in, the employee started pointing to a sign at the front that stated that, and continued on to tell us she would check if there was room on the shuttle that was still 20+ minutes out and then once she gathered all our information she told us there was no room on the shuttle. We then had to call an Uber and waste extra money and time and stress in getting to our flight. Once I looked back at the data to see if I could find what she was talking about on the site it wasn’t until I clicked into a certain area and scrolled all the way to the bottom did I even see any of that language. Additionally, there was some shady stuff going on in the parking lot that ourselves and another customer alerted them to and told them they should call the police to which she responded that the manger which was coming on duty soon would do. 😳

May 19, 2025 · Vera SurjaBEWARE - BED BUGS I stayed in room 232 for one night, checked in Feb 5 later afternoon, checked out Feb 6 at around 7am. On Feb 6 at around 10am (while airborne) my skin started to itch. Over the next 2-3 hours red bumps in lines/clusters started to appear on my upper torso, upper back, both arms (lower and upper), both hands, face, and neck. I looked up the cause- BED BUG BITES. I called the hotel on Feb 6 to report the bed bug issue, the attendant said that “nobody had complained about that before”, then took my name, phone number, and email and said that management would be in touch. I offered to send pictures of the bed bug bites on my body. I called on Feb 7 in the morning to request a full refund and was told to call later when the manager would be in the office. I offered to send pictures of the bed bug bites on my body, once more. I called again on Feb 10 and was told “oh yes, the notes are here”. I said “I have not received a call from management. I will post a review relating this bed bug bite incident.” The attendant said “do what you have to do”, and that was that. And so here we are with this review. I had to seek medical assistance, as I had an allergic reaction to the bed bug bites. The bites turned into blisters, which started to burst about 36-48 hours after the bites appeared. The doctor was concerned about a possible infection, and prescribed a topical antibiotic, a topical steroid cream for the inflammation, and allergy pills for the itch. I have pictures to prove the severity of the bed bug bites- in case the Econo Lodge’s management wants to see them (I already offered to send them by email). I called the Econo Lodge one more time on Wednesday February 12 2025. The hotel rep was very polite, and stated he would review the facts and investigate the issue. He also repeated the “we have never had a bed bug issue in this hotel” statement. I offered to send the pictures; the representative asked me if I had picture of the bed bugs… Book at that Econolodge at your own risk. I now understand the reason why people pay a premium to stay at above-average hotels. You get what you pay for.
Feb 16, 2025 · Aracelis OrtizMy son and I had booked another hotel but they did not accept my cat even thought the website said they accepted pets. We were lucky enough to find this Econo Lodge at the last minute. The staff especially Niel was super helpful, the room was clean and quiet. After a long weekend of moving it was just nice to relax.
