This introduction provides an objective overview of the Econo Lodge located at 13705 Jones St, Lavonia, GA 30553, USA, as it might appear on a platform like "Hotels Near Of Me." This hotel offers basic accommodations, positioning itself as a budget-friendly option for travelers passing through or visiting the Lavonia area. For inquiries, the hotel can be reached at (706) 460-5888 or +1 706-460-5888.
The Econo Lodge in Lavonia is situated at 13705 Jones St, which typically implies a location that is easily accessible, often near major roadways like Interstate 85, a common characteristic of Econo Lodge properties. This can be convenient for travelers looking for a quick stop during a road trip. Lavonia, Georgia, itself is a small town, and hotels in this area generally cater to travelers on a budget or those needing a stopover point between larger destinations. The immediate environment around such hotels often consists of other commercial establishments, including gas stations and fast-food restaurants, offering basic conveniences for guests. While the exact surroundings are not detailed, a typical Econo Lodge setting suggests a functional rather than scenic environment, primarily focused on providing a place to rest.
However, it is important to address significant concerns regarding the hotel's physical environment, as repeatedly noted in customer reviews. Guests have reported rooms being "nasty," with observations of dirty floors, dust, and sticky surfaces. There have also been mentions of "water bugs" (a common term for cockroaches in some regions) in the rooms. Furthermore, the hotel appears to be undergoing remodeling, with reports of tools left "laying around," which could pose safety concerns. The unaddressed state of the pool, despite guests being reprimanded for children riding scooters, suggests a property that may not be well-maintained or managed in terms of its facilities. These aspects strongly indicate a potentially unkempt and uncomfortable environment for guests.
Econo Lodge properties typically offer a set of standard services and amenities aimed at providing basic comfort and convenience for their guests. These often include free WiFi, air-conditioned rooms, and sometimes complimentary breakfast. However, for this specific Econo Lodge in Lavonia, customer reviews highlight significant shortcomings in the provision and quality of services. A major point of contention is the reported lack of breakfast, with one guest explicitly stating, "No breakfast which is ridiculous," contradicting common expectations for budget hotels that often include this amenity.
Regarding in-room amenities, while basic furnishings are implied, issues like a lack of toilet paper, trash bags, and blankets, even after repeated requests, suggest a severe deficiency in housekeeping services. Guests have reported that even when asking for essential items at the front desk, promises made by the manager regarding staff assistance have not been fulfilled. The general impression conveyed by reviews is that staff members, including the manager, are unhelpful or even rude, with observations that "workers just stand and look at you." The reported disorganization and lack of responsiveness, particularly concerning basic guest needs, indicate a significant breakdown in service delivery. While the hotel is reportedly undergoing remodeling, this has seemingly not translated into improved service or cleanliness for guests, but rather additional inconveniences like tools being left around and a pool that remains unfixed.
The Econo Lodge in Lavonia aims to offer an affordable stay, which is often a primary feature of the Econo Lodge brand. However, based on extensive customer feedback, the actual guest experience at this particular location appears to be overwhelmingly negative. The most critical issue raised by multiple guests is unauthorized credit card charges. One review details a situation where a guest paid cash for their room but was subsequently charged over $500 on their credit card for incidentals without permission, leading to a prolonged and unresolved dispute that involved contacting Choice Hotels and preparing for a civil suit. This serious breach of trust and financial mismanagement is a major red flag for potential guests and stands out as a significant negative feature.
Beyond billing issues, the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms are a recurring complaint. Guests have reported needing to clean their own rooms upon arrival due to dust and stickiness. The lack of basic housekeeping supplies and the unresponsiveness of staff to requests for these items further detract from the guest experience. The managerial staff has been described as "very rude" and uncooperative, with instances of managers reportedly lying about hotel policies (e.g., claiming guests must leave the room for cleaning) and failing to ensure their staff performs their duties. The ongoing remodeling, while potentially indicating future improvements, currently appears to contribute to a chaotic and unsafe environment. The repeated advice from former guests to "STAY AWAY" and "DON'T stay here" underscores a profoundly unsatisfactory guest experience that far outweighs any perceived cost savings. The hotel's features, from the perspective of guest satisfaction, are largely defined by these negative experiences rather than any positive attributes.
Given the severe and consistent negative feedback, particularly regarding unauthorized credit card charges, poor cleanliness, and unsatisfactory customer service, it is challenging to present promotional information for this specific Econo Lodge in Lavonia in a positive light without being misleading. For a platform like "Hotels Near Of Me," the primary appeal of an Econo Lodge is typically its affordability and convenience for transient travelers. It would normally target budget-conscious individuals, families, or business travelers seeking a simple place to sleep without many frills.
However, based on the provided reviews, any promotional message would need to be carefully crafted to reflect the reality of the guest experience, which is largely negative. The promotional message would have to acknowledge that while it is a budget option, there are significant concerns regarding billing practices, hygiene, and staff responsiveness. As such, potential guests would need to be strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and consider alternative accommodations in the area. The "Hotels Near Of Me" category implies a focus on accessibility and immediate availability, and while the Econo Lodge at this address fulfills the geographical aspect, the quality of the "services or goods for sale" (i.e., the hotel stay itself) is critically undermined by the reported issues. It is evident that the hotel's current condition and operational practices do not align with the basic expectations for a comfortable and trustworthy stay, even at a budget price point. Therefore, any "promotional information" would primarily serve as a caveat rather than an encouragement to stay.

Dec 01, 2024 · Jeremy YoungRoom was nasty. I had to sweep the floor. It was dusty and TV stand was sticky. Manager is very rude. No breakfast which is ridiculous. The workers just stand and look at you. They almost got paint in my daughter's hair. They don't have the pool fixed but fuss about the kids riding scooters seems backwards. NOTHING good about this hotel. It might be cheap but DON'T stay here. This place needs to be shut down. Oh and had a water bug in the room. They are remodeling and leave tools laying around. It really doesn't deserve a star. Update of review: Stayed here to give them another chance. When I tell you don't stay here don't stay here. House keeping gave us things we needed early the day. I asked for toilet paper and trash bag but she didn't bring it. She said she would bring it back. Hours later and she never did so I went to the front desk and the manager said it's house keeping job and she will be there in 5 minutes which was a lie. I had to ask repeatedly. Ended up having to change my son because they didn't bring tissue and the manager didn't do his part of telling who he hired to do their job. I needed the floor swept and they lied again and said that it's a law for people to leave the room while they clean. After doing some research found out that was a lie because at the time I didn't know for sure. Not to mention the floor wasn't swept great, still haven't gotten a blanket, the trash still hasn't been taken care of, house keeping got upset with me because she isn't doing her job and nobody that works there has even brought it to her attention that she isn't doing her job very well and needs improvement. I must say we deserve money back after being treated like that.
Apr 27, 2025 · Terrence WheelerCheap hotel that hasn't been updated, cleaned, or maintained in awhile. Roaches everywhere. They also say they will tow your 14ft trailer if you don't park it out front. Terrible stay, only did because it was free with points.
Jan 17, 2025 · Brandon HunsuckerWell I've read alot of bad about this place. I will tell of my experience. I checked in at the days inn which is right next door had my doggie with me. They charged me extra $20 for my fur baby. I stayed there for 4 days and 4 nights. Now stay with me. Everyday my key wouldn't work, so I would have to go get my key reprogrammed. A little bit of an inconvenience but no worries. Point being I was down in the lobby speaking with staff Everyday. On my 5th morning I went down as usual. Only this time the rude young lady says you owe us money. I said I don't believe I do. I asked what do I owe you money for??? They said for my dog... I explained I had already paid pet deposit when I checked in. She very rudely said you owe us more as she points to a paper she just pulled out. Because my dog is heavier than 25lbs. It's this price which was $70. Ok I've been down here everyday and yall have never said anything to me about this. So I asked $70??? She said per night. I said per night?? She said it's not a deposit either.... what??? So I owe you $350 Then she said if I can't pay I need to leave right now or they will call the cops... lmbo I believe that she was just scamming me. So I went next door to econo lodge and Amanda was awesome. She calmed me down. Got me in a room and explained how the extra pay is for my dog. Upfront and it was do able $35 Xtra not $70. I believe that young lady with glasses rude hotel desk attendant is scamming people for her own pocket. Amanda thank you for being a descent human being. She has went above and beyond.. Overall this hotel is nice. If you need an escape or you just need some peace and quiet. You can stay here and it's peaceful. Rooms are big and clean. Nice place
