We enjoyed our Airbnb there. Great views from top floor of building 1. There were a few things that needed fixed but nothing huge. It is an older complex. I liked the pool and 2 hot tubs. We ended up needed to do a load of laundry, and that was fine. The game room was 3 machines. I would stay again.

Gatlinburg Summit Introduce

Hey there, fellow Tennesseans! Are you in search of the ideal mountain escape, a place where stunning panoramic views meet comfort and convenience? Look no further than Gatlinburg Summit, a well-established resort hotel nestled high in the beautiful landscape of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. For those of us living in the Volunteer State, the allure of the Great Smoky Mountains is undeniable, and finding accommodations that truly capture its essence is key to a memorable getaway. Gatlinburg Summit offers just that – a chance to experience the majestic beauty of our beloved mountains and the vibrant energy of downtown Gatlinburg, all from a remarkable vantage point.

This article is crafted to give you a detailed look into what makes Gatlinburg Summit a fantastic choice for your next vacation or a quick refresh. We’ll explore its prime location, the array of services and features designed for your enjoyment, and why it’s particularly suitable for locals seeking a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. One of the most common praises from visitors, as shared in reviews, highlights the "Great views from top floor of building 1" and "Great views!" These aren't just minor perks; they are central to the entire experience at Gatlinburg Summit. Imagine waking up to the mist rising over ancient peaks or unwinding in the evening with the twinkling lights of downtown spread out before you. It’s an experience that truly connects you with the heart of East Tennessee. While it's an older complex, as some reviews mention, its enduring appeal lies in its unparalleled views and the amenities it offers, proving that sometimes, classic comfort and location outweigh brand-new construction. For Tennessee residents, Gatlinburg Summit provides an accessible and appealing option for a mountain retreat, whether it's a family trip, a romantic escape, or a solo adventure.

Gatlinburg Summit is strategically located at 1260 Ski View Dr, Gatlinburg, TN 37738, USA. This address places it in the scenic Chalet Village area, known for its elevated positions and stunning vistas. For locals familiar with Gatlinburg, Ski View Drive hints at both the beautiful scenery and the proximity to outdoor activities. Being nestled at a higher elevation, such as on Mt. Harrison at 3,000 feet, provides the extraordinary "million-dollar views" that guests frequently rave about, encompassing both the vast expanse of the Smoky Mountains and the charming lights of downtown Gatlinburg.

Accessibility to Gatlinburg Summit is generally straightforward, making it an excellent choice for Tennessee residents planning a drive. While it offers a sense of being "above it all," it remains just a convenient 4-mile drive from downtown Gatlinburg, allowing for easy access to the town's numerous attractions, dining options, and shopping. This balance means you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountain setting without feeling isolated from the fun and excitement of the area. Its location also puts it near the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort and Amusement Park, a major draw for many visitors, especially during winter months for skiing and snowboarding, and year-round for its amusement park and aerial tramway. It's also within a reasonable driving distance to the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, providing endless opportunities for hiking, nature photography, and wildlife spotting. One important note, as a review kindly points out, is that "If you don't like walking up several flights of stairs to get to your room this would not be the place for you" in some buildings, as the complex may not have elevators in all sections. However, the reward for the climb is often those coveted top-floor views.

Gatlinburg Summit offers a robust selection of services and amenities designed to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable, catering to a diverse range of guests, from families to couples seeking a relaxing retreat.

  • Fully Equipped Condominiums: Each unit, often described as a condo or apartment, typically features a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, oven, stovetop, microwave, and often a dishwasher, allowing guests to prepare their own meals.
  • In-Unit Entertainment: Condos usually include Smart TVs with cable channels, and some may have a fireplace, enhancing the cozy atmosphere.
  • Laundry Facilities: On-site laundry facilities are available, which is a significant convenience, especially for longer stays or for families. One guest specifically noted, "We ended up needed to do a load of laundry, and that was fine."
  • Barbecue Grills: For those who enjoy outdoor cooking, barbecue grills are provided for guest use, perfect for a casual meal with a view.
  • Free Self-Parking: Guests benefit from free self-parking on site, a valuable amenity in a popular tourist destination like Gatlinburg.

The features and highlights of Gatlinburg Summit are what truly elevate the guest experience, offering both leisure and practical benefits that appeal to vacationers.

  • Spectacular Mountain and Downtown Views: This is the undeniable star attraction. Units, particularly those on higher floors, offer "great views" of both the majestic Smoky Mountains and the glittering lights of downtown Gatlinburg, providing a stunning backdrop for your entire stay.
  • Indoor and Seasonal Outdoor Pools: The resort boasts both an indoor heated pool and a seasonal outdoor pool. This means year-round swimming opportunities, regardless of the weather, which is a fantastic perk. The seasonal pool is typically open from March to October.
  • Multiple Hot Tubs: Guests can relax and unwind in two hot tubs, perfect for soothing tired muscles after a day of exploring or simply enjoying the mountain air.

  • Fully Equipped Kitchens: The inclusion of full kitchens in units provides immense flexibility for dining, allowing guests to save money on meals out and enjoy home-cooked food.
  • Older Complex Charm: While some might see its age as a drawback, for many, an "older complex" can imply a more established, possibly quieter, and often more spacious layout than newer builds, contributing to a comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere.

For those planning a visit to Gatlinburg Summit, keeping an eye out for promotions and special offers can significantly enhance your trip's value. While the provided information doesn't list specific, current promotions directly from Gatlinburg Summit as a whole entity, individual units within the complex are often rented through various vacation rental platforms (like Airbnb, Expedia, Hotels.com, Stayz, etc.), and these platforms frequently run their own deals. Great views! If you don't like walking up several flights of stairs to get to your room this would not be the place for you.

First off, if you get motion sickness take Dramamine. This condo is not convenient. It’s a 17 min drive from the main road and it’s nothing but windy, sharp, uphill roads. Not all the condos have nice views. Ours is much to be desired. The bathroom ceiling is falling apart. The shower trickles water. I have long hair and it took me a while to shower. The curtains in one of the rooms is being held on by zip ties. The kitchen has one glass but the condo has two bedrooms. The floors are dirty and the beds are hard. The tv in one bedroom is so old. The entire place is outdated. The only positive is the beautiful view coming up and going down but be sure prepared to take about 20 mins each way. This is only our first night here and I’m considering going to a hotel. We rented through Vacasa if that makes a difference. I want to add I have pictures but it won’t let me attach them.

The condo is comfy and super convenient. It's economical and has both an indoor and outdoor pool and an indoor hot tub as well that is always open to guests. There's a little playground area and a coin laundry and some coin-operated arcades. Very conveniently located to Gatlinburg. We rented from Mountain Time cabin rentals!

Decent place to sleep for a few days but there were multiple bugs on the ceiling or wall from time to time and had an odd smell. But, it was clean and definitely wasn’t the worst but I wouldn’t recommend
