Nice big room and could be a nice place if it had different management that understood that hot water and working amenities are important to guests. When we checked in we learned the hot tub wasn't working. Then when we went to get on the elevator to our room one of those weren't operational. Got to our room and the size is great, but the carpet is old and tattered, very dated, and the mattress was caved in down the middle. First night went to take a shower, no hot water. Went to the desk and they knew about it already. Said it would be fixed by morning. Next evening still no hot water. Went to the desk again to be told they were coming to fix it. We will see! They worked on the elevator today, but it's still not functional. In addition, they supposedly have free cookies - never saw any yet in two days. Hot tub is supposed to be fixed tomorrow. We will see about that as well. Very disappointing for what hotels cost today. Would NOT recommend this place

Hampton Inn & Suites Pittsburgh-Meadow Lands Introduce

The Hampton Inn & Suites Pittsburgh-Meadow Lands presents itself as an option for travelers searching within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in the Washington, PA area. Located at 475 Johnson Rd, Washington, PA 15301, USA, the hotel aims to serve guests visiting the nearby attractions or those on business in the region. The hotel can be reached directly via phone at (724) 222-4014 or mobile phone at +1 724-222-4014. As part of the Hampton Inn & Suites brand, it generally offers a consistent set of amenities and services designed for a comfortable stay.

Environment: Convenient Location with Standard Brand Appeal

The Hampton Inn & Suites Pittsburgh-Meadow Lands is situated in a commercial area, offering convenient access to key local points of interest. Its location on Johnson Road places it within a short drive of popular destinations such as the Tanger Outlets, a significant retail hub, and The Meadows Racetrack & Casino, providing entertainment and gaming opportunities. This makes it a practical choice for guests primarily visiting these attractions. While the immediate surroundings are not characterized by natural scenery, the hotel's environment is typical of a suburban commercial zone, designed for accessibility and guest convenience. The general appearance of the hotel follows the Hampton Inn & Suites aesthetic, which typically involves a welcoming lobby and a functional, comfortable design throughout the property.

Services and Amenities: Essential Comforts and Inconsistencies

Hampton Inn & Suites properties are widely known for their consistent delivery of certain core amenities, and this location generally offers what is expected from the brand. These typically include complimentary hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and a "100% Hampton Guarantee." Guest rooms are designed for comfort and usually feature clean and fresh Hampton beds, a flat-screen TV with premium channels, a work desk, coffee maker, and ironing facilities. Suites often include additional living space and kitchenettes with a microwave and mini-refrigerator.

For recreation, the hotel usually provides an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center. Many guests appreciate these facilities for relaxation and maintaining their routines while traveling. Other services commonly offered include a 24-hour front desk, a business center with printing capabilities, and laundry facilities. The hotel also typically offers free self-parking.

However, based on recent customer reviews, it is crucial to provide an objective assessment of the service and amenity delivery at this specific Hampton Inn & Suites. Guests have reported significant issues with basic amenities. There have been complaints regarding the consistent availability of hot water for showers, with multiple instances of guests experiencing cold showers and receiving unfulfilled promises of repairs from the front desk. Furthermore, the functionality of the hotel's amenities has been questioned, with reports of a non-operational hot tub and one of the elevators being out of service for extended periods. The advertised "free cookies" were also reported as unavailable by a guest over a multi-day stay. These instances suggest that while the services and amenities are intended to be offered, their consistent operational status and reliability may be a point of concern.

Features: Brand Standards and Maintenance Challenges

The key features of the Hampton Inn & Suites Pittsburgh-Meadow Lands align with the Hilton family of brands, including the popular Hamptonality service culture. Guests can typically expect a warm welcome and generally friendly staff, as exemplified by a positive comment about the "young girl working the desk." The provision of complimentary hot breakfast and free Wi-Fi are significant value-added features for many travelers, allowing them to save on daily expenses. The indoor pool offers a year-round recreational option, and the fitness center caters to health-conscious guests. The option of suites with kitchenettes is a beneficial feature for longer stays or for families seeking more space and convenience. The hotel is also generally pet-friendly, which is an important feature for guests traveling with animals.

However, a direct and objective assessment must also acknowledge reported deficiencies in the hotel's features and maintenance. Several guests have highlighted concerns about the condition of the rooms, specifically mentioning old and tattered carpets that appear dated, as well as mattresses that are "caved in down the middle," suggesting they are past their prime and in need of replacement. Beyond the rooms, the cleanliness of common areas and the exterior has also been a point of concern, with reports of overflowing trash containers outside the hotel and trash left unattended in hallways, particularly outside elevators, for extended periods. Furthermore, issues with in-room plumbing, such as inconsistent water pressure (e.g., strong hot water at the sink but barely a trickle of cold water, and a non-functioning toilet), have been raised. Noise disturbances, specifically a loud barking dog audible from multiple rooms, also indicate potential issues with sound insulation or guest management. These detailed observations from recent customers indicate that while the hotel is equipped with standard Hampton Inn features, the execution of maintenance and upkeep has significantly impacted the guest experience.

Booking directly can often provide benefits like flexible cancellation policies and access to all available room types. While the hotel generally provides complimentary breakfast, guests should always verify this detail and any other specific amenities or services directly with the hotel, particularly in light of reported inconsistencies in service delivery. For any stay, it is always recommended to confirm current operational status of amenities like the hot tub and elevators, as well as any specific policies regarding pets or incidentals.

When we arrived the trash containers outside the hotel, we’re not only overflowing, but there was trash sitting around each container. The lobby looked decent and the young girl working. The desk was very nice. However, when we arrived to the second floor, there was trash, sitting outside the elevator, which remained until we checked out the following morning, and there was a dog barking in room 209 (we were staying in room 222) That was so loud we can hear the dog in our room with the TV on!! The water at the sink near the bathroom was great if you were needing hot water. However, cold water barely trickled out and our toilet was not working properly until we left… I wish I had taken pictures, but to summarize our stay when we return to Pittsburgh this hotel will not be a consideration.

Great price for the location and hotel services. The room was aged a little, the curtain rod fell apart, the lamp shade and the bathroom ceiling light in the room was broken had very large cracks on them. Room service didn't check on room for more supplies. Pool area was decent, but the towel area wasn't check up on so ran out of towels. The hot tub was nice but extremely hot so couldn't enjoy it. The front desk was very polite and friendly, easy to check in.

My family and I have stayed at this hotel each of the last 3 years, and sadly this year the hotel really went down hill. The toilet in our room barely flushed and seems like it needs new internal parts. The shower floor was all cracked and peeling. The pool water was very cold and the hot tub water was crazy hot. I’m honestly surprised they left the hot tub open with how hot the water was. Pool area was out of towels. Breakfast was average. Food could have been a lot hotter. One of the two elevators was out of order, so long elevator wait times. For the price, there should not be so many issues.

I always choose Hampton Inn when my family and I travel and my stay at this hotel over all was fine. I'm an Honors member so I stopped in by chance to see if they had vacancy and I stayed with my family from 04/05 - 04/06 while visiting the greater Pittsburgh area for the weekend. I picked this hotel because it was the best price and it looked like a good area. The staff at the check in desk were friendly and courteous. I appreciated them being accommodating even though i did not have a reservation. The room we stayed in was presentable and the sheets appeared clean and fresh but deeper inspection of the room we found some food trash shoved between one of the beds and the wall, I did not say anything to the desk as it was just bags and wrappers and not actual food waste. The hotel amenities are a bit dated, I was looking for a place to eat and asked the desk where the computer room was and the clerk stated that the company had the computers removed, but they did have several menus and gave personal recommendations. The TV in the room was older so I was not able to cast from my phone to the TV to stream shows but it did have cable available. Guest traffic and noise during the night was normal, but you could hear humming from appliances in other rooms. The next morning on the way to the pool there were armed officers at the desk. The pool was refreshing but they could have skimmed the water with a net before opening it that morning as we noticed some "floaty bits" in it. The pool had no towels at all and I was told by another guest they barely had any the night before as well so I had to go to the front desk for help and she only came back with two towels, so when we were done swimming we still didn't have enough so I walked back to the room soaked and cold. Breakfast is a big factor in my choosing a hotel and I always look forward to it, their breakfast bar served a great variety of breakfast choices, such as scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage. They had pancakes and cookies, fruit, cereal, toast and bagels. It was a good stay overall and I would stay again if I were in the area again as I found out the area also has loads of sites to see like a trolly museum, and it was surrounded by other high end hotels and there was lots of restaurants and even an outlet mall. I'll keep this hotel in mind if I am travelling the area again. If anyone is reading this and the other comments is concerned about this place I feel you will be fine. Five stars for customer service, five stars for the breakfast, four stars for the room and three stars for the pool because there were no towels and the water needed skimmed.
