For travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with an unparalleled location directly on Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, the Harris Sea Ranch Motel at 75 Ocean Blvd, Hampton, NH 03842, USA, stands out for its prime beachfront access. Reachable by phone at (603) 910-5886 or mobile +1 603-910-5886, this motel has been a long-standing fixture on the Hampton Beach landscape, known for its incredible proximity to the ocean and the boardwalk. It is important to note that the property was recently acquired by the Hampton Beach Casino and Mainsail Motel in April 2025, and while it was anticipated to reopen by Memorial Day weekend with renovations underway, the full scope of these changes and their impact on amenities will become clearer over time.
The most significant asset of the Harris Sea Ranch Motel is its location directly on Ocean Boulevard, just across the street from the main stretch of Hampton Beach. This means guests are literally steps away from the sand, the ocean, and the lively Hampton Beach boardwalk. The convenience of being able to walk out of your room and immediately be on the beach is a major draw for vacationers. Many rooms, particularly those on higher floors or with specific orientations, offer direct or partial ocean views, providing a constant backdrop of the sparkling Atlantic.
Being on the boardwalk means guests are at the heart of Hampton Beach's vibrant atmosphere. The motel is within easy walking distance of a plethora of attractions, including the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom, the Seashell Stage (which hosts free concerts and events throughout the summer), arcades, souvenir shops, and a diverse array of restaurants, bars, and ice cream parlors. Hampton Beach State Park, known for its natural beauty and fishing jetty, is also nearby. This central location makes it an ideal base for experiencing all the fun and excitement that Hampton Beach has to offer, minimizing the need for a car once settled. The surrounding environment is bustling during the peak season, reflecting the energy of a classic New England beach town.
Historically, the Harris Sea Ranch Motel has focused on providing essential services that cater to beach-going visitors, prioritizing location and affordability. Amenities typically include free Wi-Fi, which is crucial for staying connected. Free self-parking is also provided on-site, a valuable commodity in a busy beach area.
While some past reviews mentioned a complimentary breakfast, it's advisable to reconfirm this amenity with the current management, especially given the recent ownership change. The motel has generally offered basic in-room facilities such as microwaves and refrigerators, which are convenient for storing snacks and preparing simple meals. Some rooms may also have balconies or patios, providing private outdoor space. The motel has a garden area and historically offered barbecue grills and a picnic area, enhancing the outdoor experience for guests.
Guest reviews consistently praise the staff's friendliness and helpfulness, indicating a strong commitment to service. However, some past guests have noted certain limitations, such as the absence of an in-room phone to call the front desk, requiring in-person visits during office hours for assistance. While the current ownership may introduce improvements, it's important for prospective guests to manage expectations regarding amenities that may be common in more modern hotels. The motel has been noted to have a concierge service and luggage storage. It operates as a smoke-free property.
The Harris Sea Ranch Motel features various room types, including standard rooms and units with balconies, some offering ocean views. The rooms are generally described as traditional and, in some older reviews, "outdated," suggesting that renovations have been long-anticipated. However, the consistent theme is that despite the older decor, the rooms are kept "very clean," a critical factor for guest satisfaction. Beds are generally found to be comfortable, providing a place to rest after a day of beach activities.
The property has been described as a "motel," implying a more casual, accessible style of accommodation often found in popular beach destinations. It typically consists of 14 well-appointed rooms, though some sources might indicate a slightly different number, reflecting the property's scale. In-room amenities typically include air conditioning, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, and private bathrooms with shower/tub combinations and complimentary toiletries. The presence of microwaves and refrigerators in rooms is a practical feature that enhances the self-catering aspect for guests.
The recent acquisition by Hampton Beach Casino and Mainsail Motel signals a potential for significant upgrades and modernization. While the extent of these renovations is yet to be fully realized or consistently documented across all public information, the intent to refresh the property is clear. This could address past concerns about outdated decor and potentially introduce new features, while hopefully retaining the charm and prime location that have always been its strengths.
The Harris Sea Ranch Motel has historically been a beloved destination for repeat vacationers, with many guests expressing loyalty spanning years, even decades. Past guests have fondly remembered the owners and staff, noting their friendliness and the positive atmosphere. The phrase "Great place owner was very nice went every year for vacation Staff was great. Sad when they had to sell it" from a customer review highlights the emotional connection guests had with the previous management and the property's tradition.
The motel's primary appeal lies in its "great location" directly across from the beach, which is a consistent highlight in reviews. For travelers prioritizing unbeatable beach access and a classic, unpretentious Hampton Beach experience, the Harris Sea Ranch Motel has been a go-to choice. While some reviews mentioned drawbacks such as outdated rooms, low water pressure in showers, or minor electrical issues (like blowing a fuse with the microwave), the overall sentiment often leaned towards valuing the location and friendly service over modern luxuries.
With the recent change in ownership to the Hampton Beach Casino and Mainsail Motel, the Harris Sea Ranch Motel is poised for a new chapter. Future promotions will likely emphasize the ongoing renovations and any new amenities introduced, aiming to enhance the guest experience while leveraging its unparalleled beachfront setting. This acquisition suggests a strategic investment in the property, indicating a future where the motel could offer a more contemporary experience while retaining its core appeal as a direct beach access hotel. For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" at Hampton Beach, the Harris Sea Ranch Motel continues to represent a key option for an authentic seaside getaway, now with the promise of revitalization.

May 24, 2025 · Lisa ThompsonThe location is great ! The beach is right across the street. The rooms are outdated and it looks like they have not remodeled anything in a very long time. They had wifi but no phone to call the front desk and when I used the microwave to make my coffee I blew a fuse and had to go down to the front desk to ask them to re-set my microwave in my room. And if you had an issue in your room you have to make sure you go to the front desk during office hour because when the office is closed you will have to wait for the next day when the office opens. The staff was very friendly !! I am glad we only had the room for 2days and that we used the room to sleep and shower. I loved the location but don't think we would visit or stay at the Harris Sea Ranch Motel again.
Jul 24, 2022 · Evelyn ChavezI almost hate to post this as I feel like I am letting the cat out of the bag on this one. One of Hampton Beaches best kept secrets! My wife and I stayed here on 6/16/18. Our room was nicer then I expected by far, the location is second to none and the partial ocean view was fantastic. For me, other then the bed and pillows amazing comfort was the fact they have a hot tub right in front of the hotel. You can soak in the suds and people watch just feet from your room! The owner was very pleasant and accommodating! We will most definitely stay at this hotel again! Just for the record, you would be hard pressed to find a person that has higher expections then I. I get grossed out very easily! That was not the case here! I love this hotel and can not wait to return! Hampton Beach is my happy place!
Jun 21, 2018 · Ricky DennisWe got 2 rooms somewhat last minute in May or June (compared to other times when we book in late January for best rooms!) so we didn't expect too much in a way of large rooms or kitchen space. We were happily surprised with the room size and view of the strip and beach. The place was SO CLEAN, I couldn't believe it. Hot days kept the window AC unit going, just wish they had it going for when we checked in; so hot without it revved up! It's right across from the beach, just how we like it, private balcony, full size beds I believe (wish we had at least queen beds though, kings would have been better), and the mini fridge was a godsend since we didn't get a kitchenette this time (again, last minute booking). Overall, I'd book here again in a heartbeat. With the AC going we didn't hear traffic or neighbors (thick walls) and staff were polite the two times we required their attention (check in/out and fresh towels). Happy with the place!
Aug 10, 2018 · Kate HoranThe motel is located right across from the beach next to a local casino. They have parking but it's tight and you probably don't need to drive anywhere local after you check in. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is laid back. The room was adequate. It looked like 60's decor and in need of some repairs. The price was right and it worked for us at the end of September. if you visit here in the summer expect to have significant noise well into the early hours of the morning.
