I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The price was very affordable. The staff was excellent, location was tremendous. Close to places, but not too close. Perfect walking distance to a gas station if you like walking alone or with your companion in strange, big cities like I do, it's perfect!! The distance to the train station was about 10-15 minutes. I highly recommend!! Our new favorite place to stay when in Chicago.

We had a wonderful stay! Upon our check-in after driving 6 hours straight and being exhausted we were greeted with the most upbeat pleasant front desk staff I’ve seen in a long time. Calvin welcomed us to the hotel with a huge smile and positive energy, acknowledged my platinum elite status, was able to accommodate the perfect room, and continued to greet me by name throughout the duration of our stay. The hot tub in the room was also so relaxing with the jets and little fireplace. Overall, it was a great stay. Will definitely stay here again when passing through IL! Thank you Calvin!

I am a member of IHG hotels, and I am used to certain standard, but this hotel is a joke, worst than a motel 6, at least at Motel 6 you know what to expect, that you are only there for a night and a shower, but staying a whole week at a Holiday Inn you at least know it will be different, well I arrived 2 days ago, they haven’t done my room in this 2 days, the first day I called reception and told them that I want my room done the next day and the whole week that I will stay, well guess what they did not listen at all, thay didn’t do my room. The first night I took a shower and I ran out of lotion, the second day I ran out of body wash, but guess what like they didn’t clean the room well those items were never refilled, not to mention my towels are wet and even though I hang them they do not dry totally by consequence no clean towels at all in 3 days. And it is not only me, there is other colleagues staying at the hotel, and they’ve had the same issue, so it is generally bad service they do not want to hire people to do the jobs. Besides expensive, not worth spending your money on this hotel, rather look for another one.

Whenever my family and I got to this hotel, we were excited to have somewhere to rest after a long 8 hour drive. The outside looked nice and welcoming, but we quickly found out to “never judge a book by its cover”. We were given the wrong room and front desk didn’t help us find another room, as they didn’t even bother looking if any other rooms were available. This wasn’t a big problem, just slightly frustrating. The next problem was that the elevators were broken and we had to take the stairs. Once again, not a major problem, just frustrating. But the stairs smelt like sour milk and cigarette smoke. The dim yellow lighting was very unsettling. There were watermelon rinds, pineapple slices, bath towels, and lollipop wrappers scattered across the stairs(yes, I wish this was a joke, too). Whenever I went to lay in bed, there was hair on the pillows and the sheets, along with random red and brown stains. My dad asked the guy at front desk if we could get new pillowcases, and more towels since they only provided two. It took almost an hour for two towels to be provided, and they had to go back to find two pillows to then bring back to our room. The bathroom door looked like a dog chewed on it, and the shower was a nightmare. We all know that hotel showers are impossible to get the right water temperature; this was worse. It was either burning hot(so bad that your skin turned red) or freezing cold. The shower was so bad that my dad was more willing to bathe using the ice bucket provided in the room. The clock in the bedroom wasn’t even set to the correct time, and the holy bible was stolen from the nightstand. The mini fridge was barely even cold, the pillows smelled of cigarette smoke, and the door between the bedroom and the living room was clear so there was not a ton of privacy. There was music blasting on each level of the building, which I have never heard in a hotel before. But not only were they playing loud music from the moment I opened my eyes in the morning to the moment I fell asleep; it was the same 7 Michael Jackson songs on repeat. Not only was it playing in the lobby and all 4 floors, it was playing outside in the circle drive, as well. It made me feel like each day of my stay was groundhogs day. My family and I went to the Pearl Conference Center connected to the hotel for an event, and we were shocked at how nice the center was considering that the hotel was such a mess. Overall, I have stayed in MANY Holiday Inns throughout my life and have never had an experience this bad. This was also the worst hotel stay that I have had in general, disregarding the brand. I would definitely NOT recommend staying here, even if you have to go to an event in the conference center; it would be worth the extra 3 minute drive to just stay at the next nearest hotel.

I typically have high standards for IHG hotels as a member, but this visit was a major disappointment. The room was in a deplorable and filthy state, with stains on the floor, ceiling, and chairs. The cleanliness was severely lacking, as there were not enough towels and there was even hair in the bathtub. Unfortunately, this was just the beginning of a series of unfortunate events. To add insult to injury, the hot tub was out of order, and the swimming pool operating hours were extremely inconvenient, from 9am to 9pm. This means that if you check in at 8pm, you only have a mere hour to enjoy the pool before it closes. This is simply inexcusable and shows a lack of consideration for guests. Furthermore, the pancake machine was not functioning, and the breakfast offerings were subpar. I can confidently say that I will not be returning to this location, as the overall experience was far from satisfactory.
