Overall, we enjoyed our stay. We booked a room here because of the location, which is excellent. We received great customer service at the front desk. Check-in and check-out were easy. Aside from a very uncomfortable mattress, and being able to hear every word that was said by the people in the room next door, we had a good stay. Our room had a gas fireplace, big-screen tv, a nice desk/counter area, a fridge, and a microwave. The tub was jetted. The grounds are beautiful, and this place (as well as all of Blowing Rock, it seems) is very dog-friendly.

May 25, 2025 · Dana HUnfortunately we didn’t have the experience we hoped for or anticipated. Partly the disappointment stemmed from booking their largest cottage with 2 rooms 3 months before our trip and then being informed 2 1/2 weeks before our trip that they moved us to one of their small motel rooms. I was told they gave our room to FEMA workers but during the week when I was there I didn’t see them across the street at the cottage - and I was outside early morning, afternoons, and a few times every night with my dog. The very small room made it difficult for me as I expect to work from the room while my wife attended her classes. Having planned to bring our dog, and having paid for that, also created challenges because there was so little room. There was generally no administrative staff at the property - had to spend several hours in cold outside on day I arrived because my wife, who had checked in the day before and had the only key, was in class and there was no staff onsite. The Bathroom was good. Also, the location is fantastic to experience downtown Blowing Rock,’but unless you can get (and keep) a Cottage reservation, I would not recommend unless you are traveling alone and don’t need much space or there for just a night (not 4+). They also let you bring a dog, and Blowing Rock is very dog friendly, but the Inn has signs everywhere on every grass area, all around property, saying they don’t even want you to allow your dog to pee on their grass. I will look somewhere else for my next trip.
Nov 28, 2024 · Rose JarrettWe stayed here over Memorial Day weekend, and we had the best time! Rooms were spotless when we got there. Pet friendly and affordable. Location was perfect - central to everything but tucked a couple feet on the side street. Everyone working there was super friendly. They have coffee in the reception area and plenty of outdoor seating to relax on in the morning and afternoon. So happy we got to stay at Homestead Inn.
May 30, 2024 · Sharon WangWe stayed a weekend in late June and enjoyed Homestead Inn. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice tub/shower. All the staff was friendly and helpful. We choose Homestead because we wanted to be able to walk to most places in the heart of town and it worked out very well. What surprised us most was the property itself. There are nice Adirondack chairs, swinging seats, gazebos and tables on lush lawns to relax. On our last night, we picked up a bottle of good wine at Sunset and Vine and sat outside at Homestead to enjoy it while the sun set. Great place and we'd stay here again if we return.
Jun 30, 2024 · Dave CoffmanI took my mother for a Mother's Day weekend. She is 81. We were able to walk downtown within 2-3 minutes. The front yard and property were beautifully landscaped and maintained. The owners, Rob and Caroline were wonderful! They went above and beyond to accommodate us. My mother has told me it was the best vacation she has ever had. We highly recommend The Homestead Inn and Cottages to anyone planning a trip to Blowing Rock. Pet friendly and kid friendly! 5 Huge Stars!!!!
