I can't say enough about this place everything was clean. Plenty of places to sleep. Air worked great. Martha was very nice came to check on us make sure we didn't need anything. Would absolutely use again. Only thing that I recommend is a lot of mosquito spray. They are relentless and a lot of them.thank you for making our stay great. One other thing the couch in the living room is in need of replacing. Or put it in the room that the other couch is in .as that one is much better for sitting. But I would still stay even with that couch still there. Such a great place out away from all the crowds and the river view is amazing.
For those of us living in Wisconsin, a getaway doesn't always mean a long drive out of state. Sometimes, the most rewarding escapes are right in our own backyard, offering a chance to reconnect with nature and enjoy a change of pace without the hassle of a long journey. Tucked away in the beautiful Baraboo region, Jack's Cabin presents itself as one of those perfect local destinations. This charming accommodation offers a unique blend of rustic tranquility and modern comfort, making it an ideal spot for a family retreat, a weekend with friends, or a peaceful couple's getaway. It's a place where you can truly unplug from the everyday hustle and bustle, surrounded by the natural beauty that makes our state so special. The cabin's welcoming atmosphere and prime location have made it a favorite among repeat visitors who appreciate its clean, cozy, and well-maintained environment.
Jack's Cabin is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience. The moment you step inside, you are greeted by a sense of warmth and familiarity, as if you've been a regular for years. The accommodations are thoughtfully laid out, providing ample space for groups to sleep comfortably. With two bedrooms and a couple of comfortable futons, the cabin can easily accommodate anywhere from 8 to 10 people, making it a great choice for larger family gatherings or friend reunions. Guests consistently praise the cleanliness of the cabin, highlighting how everything is "super clean" and well-kept. The kitchen is described as "cute" and fully functional, allowing you to prepare meals and enjoy a home-cooked experience while on vacation. The air conditioning works great, ensuring you stay comfortable even on the warmest Wisconsin days.
One of the most unique aspects of Jack's Cabin is the personal touch that makes it feel so special. Guests love reading the personal notes left by previous visitors, which tells a story of cherished memories and good times. This tradition adds to the cabin's charm and makes each stay feel like a part of a larger, ongoing narrative. It's a reminder that this isn't just a generic rental property; it's a place where people come to relax, create memories, and share their experiences. This sense of community and personal connection is a rare find and contributes significantly to the overall appeal of the cabin.
The cabin's close proximity to the Wisconsin River is a major highlight, offering guests breathtaking views and direct access to water activities. The stunning "river view is amazing," providing a picturesque backdrop for your stay. You can bring your own canoe or kayaks and launch them right from the property, making it incredibly convenient for a day on the water. Beyond the river, the area is a haven for bird watchers, with many different species to observe from the comfort of the cabin's deck. The natural surroundings are a key draw, but it's worth noting the presence of mosquitos. While some years are "mosquito free," guests recommend bringing plenty of bug spray, as they can be "relentless and a lot of them." This is a minor consideration for the opportunity to enjoy such a pristine, natural setting, away from the typical tourist crowds.

Jun 30, 2017 · Becca bidwellCozy clean accommodations. Cute kitchen. Two bedrooms, a couple comfortable futon to sleep on. Can sleep 8 to 10 comfortably. Everything is super clean. Bring bug spray. We've stayed here several times and the last two years have been mosquito free! Love reading all the personal notes from folks that have stayed. Close to the river so bring your canoe or kayaks!! Lots of bird watching. Love it here, can't wait to return. Reasonable and pet friendly. Close to Driftless Glen, Leopold center, cute shops in Baraboo. Check them out. Tried a new place this year 2021 - Tumbled Rock brewery. PHENOMENAL also.
Sep 05, 2021 · Lisa K BrewerThe location and camp was really nice when visiting as a kid. Only thing that wasn't nice was Jack himself. From what I recall he was a senior citizen who was very rude to kids. One time I heard him yell at one for throwing rocks in a lake. Who does that? The old bag is probably dead. Hopefully this is the right resort one is referring too.
Jun 23, 2021 · John DYeah, book this is you want to gamble on ever receiving an access code to enter. No return calls regarding the matter until it was too late and a new place had been booked. No refund. Very poor way to run a business
Nov 13, 2021 · Pieface LongUnfortunately we didn’t get to enjoy Jack’s Cabin because we were locked out and Jack was unavailable by phone. We rented on VRBO and the check in information was not on the website. He offered a partial refund but then vanished when it came time to give it. Being out $500 in a pandemic when I was just trying to have a trip with my family is a serious bummer.
