We had a wonderful time with our family for mom’s 80th birthday.location was 5-10 m drive from town. We had 4 chalets rented next to each other. Views were beautiful. The chalets had almost everything you would need and were comfortable. We chose to eat breakfast in.. only thing missing was a toaster. Bathrooms had great water pressure. Not a fan of liquid soap. Brought bars of soap with me. My mom complained that there was no conditioner. Beds were comfortable. Didn’t love the charcoal grey coverlets, I would have preferred to see all white but everything appeared clean. Housekeeping was great. Overall would recommend and stay here again.

Environment and Location:

Lakeside Resort & 3812 Bistro is nestled in a serene setting, providing a tranquil escape from the everyday hustle. While its name might suggest direct lake access, it is important to note that the property itself does not have direct lake access for swimming from its grounds; however, many of its accommodations and the bistro offer beautiful views of Seneca Lake and Hector Falls. The resort spans 30 acres of manicured lawns, featuring private walking trails, small waterfalls, and a mini-glen that runs through the property, inviting guests to explore and connect with nature. Its location on NY-14 places it just a 5-10 minute drive from the vibrant town of Watkins Glen, known for Watkins Glen State Park with its magnificent gorges and waterfalls, and the Watkins Glen International racetrack. It's also centrally located within the renowned Finger Lakes Wine Region, making it an ideal base for exploring nearby wineries such as Lakewood Vineyards and Glenora Wine Cellars. The ambiance is peaceful and quiet, offering a true retreat for those seeking relaxation and natural beauty.

Services and Amenities:

The service at Lakeside Resort & 3812 Bistro is consistently praised by guests, with the staff described as "incredible from start to finish," "nicest people," and "amazing, helpful, informative and kind." This dedication to customer satisfaction creates a welcoming and positive "vibe" throughout the resort. Key amenities include complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi in all rooms and common areas. While there isn't a traditional complimentary breakfast, the on-site 3812 Bistro offers a cooked-to-order breakfast for a surcharge, featuring local cuisine and fresh ingredients. The resort hosts nightly campfires (weather permitting) in a common area, fostering a social and relaxing atmosphere. Guests have access to barbecue grills (charcoal and gas, with gas supplied by the resort) and a picnic area, perfect for outdoor meals. For entertainment, there's a game room, a shared lounge/TV area, and opportunities for hiking on the property's trails. The resort also offers a limited-hour front desk (typically 8 AM - 8 PM), express check-out, and vending machines for snacks and beverages. Notably, the resort is very pet-friendly, welcoming two pets (dogs and cats) of any size for a reasonable fee (typically $50 per stay), with an off-leash area and food/water bowls available. This policy is a huge draw for many travelers, and the resort even has a resident dog, Rocky, who is a beloved part of the experience, although guests are gently reminded not to feed him human food.

Features:

Lakeside Resort offers a variety of accommodation types, including comfortable rooms and stand-alone chalets, many of which provide "beautiful views" of Seneca Lake. The chalets, in particular, are popular for families or groups, with options for multiple bedrooms and more spacious layouts. Guests have found the chalets to be well-equipped and "comfortable," featuring amenities like mini-refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee/tea makers (Keurig). While some chalets may lack a toaster, they generally provide almost everything needed for a self-catering stay. All rooms and chalets are air-conditioned and heated, include private bathrooms with good water pressure (though some guests prefer bar soap over liquid soap and note the absence of conditioner), hair dryers, and iron/ironing boards. Beds are consistently described as comfortable, contributing to a restful sleep. The decor is generally clean, though some minor aesthetic preferences, like the color of coverlets, might vary among guests. Each unit is accessed via exterior corridors, providing a sense of privacy. A standout feature is the on-site 3812 Bistro. This restaurant offers a "sublime" dining experience, with a focus on handcrafted Finger Lakes fare using fresh, locally sourced ingredients for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Reviewers rave about specific dishes like the "Spicy Shrimp Burger" and "Chili Lime Tacos." The Bistro also features a bar with local beer, wine, and cider, and offers al fresco dining on a covered deck with stunning views. The Bistro is also dog-friendly on its outdoor patio, even providing a "Doggo Menu" for canine companions.

5 stars says it all. The resort, the views, the people, the food, the vibe, the location...ALL of it was sublime. I got a chance to meet the owners, who were really the nicest people, and the staff was incredible from start to finish. Oh...and if you don't try the Spicy Shrimp Burger or the Chili Lime Tacos you're just wasting everyone's time. Make sure to give Rocky scratches and he'll take you on a walk if you're game....BE GAME! Any minutes walking with Rocky are better than those you spend not strolling next to the big guy. I will say his campaign to acquire any dropped or offered food at the bar was as impressively comprehensive as it was persistent. He's an adorable food ninja but stay strong and don't fall for it. Human food messes with him, and he knows it, but he tries all the same. 😁 (You WILL feel terrible after refusing the biggest puppy dog eyes you're every likely to see....trust me.) Stay here, have a great time, then do it again.

This was our second stay at Lakeside Resorts on Seneca Lake, and it won’t be our last. There’s nothing like waking up to those views of the mighty Seneca—absolutely stunning. The food is next-level (I’m still thinking about the tomato bisque—hands down the best I’ve ever had). The staff is super friendly and accommodating, which just adds to the whole relaxed, welcoming vibe. Whether it’s your first time or a return trip, this place is 100% worth it. Can’t wait to come back.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay with our pup Boone. Staff was excellent and very helpful. The grounds were very relaxing and had beautiful trails to hike along a small river, with a nice hidden double Adirondack chair next to a little waterfall. Their "welcoming comittee" Rocky was a sweet chocolate lab that even showed us where the ice was ! We will definitely be back in the near future.

We went up last night for their Nordic Night event! We had so much fun! We loved the big yard games set up and the great bonfire! It was really wonderful that they offered this event because not only was it free, but they also had free hot chocolate, smores, and popcorn! My kids had a blast and seeing everyone in costume was so cool! The lake is so beautiful and the staff was very friendly! Can't wait to go back and rent one of their cozy rooms!
