Everything is adequate. The rooms are standard. The conference food we had was probably some of the best when comparing other hotels. The pool is a little lack luster and the podium has yet to be fixed - it has read Lanier Slands for at least two years now - it should read Islands.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available, and guest services like a 24-hour front desk, concierge, and complimentary transportation within the resort are provided.

Features and Distinguishing Aspects:

Lanier Islands Resort's most distinguishing feature is its comprehensive nature as a full-service destination resort. Unlike a typical hotel, it offers an entire ecosystem of entertainment, dining, and accommodation options within its vast acreage. The diversity of experiences, from thrilling water park rides in summer to snowy activities in winter, alongside year-round golf and spa services, sets it apart. The ability to cater to various guest types – families seeking recreation, couples on a romantic getaway, or corporate groups attending meetings – is a significant strength.

Another key feature is its commitment to providing a luxurious and memorable experience. While one review mentioned "standard rooms" and a "lackluster pool," another reviewer's "Ritz Carlton experience" and praise for "top-notch customer service," "incredible food," and "divine afternoon tea" (rivaling Switzerland) speak to the high-end potential of the resort. This suggests a varied experience depending on the specific accommodation type chosen and perhaps the particular services utilized. The staff's dedication to providing exceptional service, as indicated by the positive review, is a strong asset. The resort is also pet-friendly in certain accommodations, allowing guests to bring their furry companions.

The continuous evolution of the resort, including additions like the Game Changer fun center and new water park slides, demonstrates a commitment to enhancing the guest experience and providing fresh attractions.

Promotional Information and Guest Experience:

Lanier Islands Resort heavily promotes itself as "Georgia's favorite playground for the spirit," highlighting its unique combination of natural beauty, diverse activities, and luxurious amenities. Promotional materials often feature enticing images of the lake, golf course, water park, and elegant event spaces. They frequently offer special packages, such as the "Summer Family Fun Package" with water park tickets, "Pick Your Perk" for events, or "Summer Concert VIP Packages" that include overnight stays and enhanced concert experiences. Discounts for AAA members and extended stays are also common. The resort leverages its seasonal attractions, transforming from a summer water paradise to a winter wonderland with snow tubing and festive lights, encouraging year-round visitation.

Customer reviews provide a mixed, but generally positive, perspective on the guest experience. While one review described things as "adequate" with "standard rooms" and a "little lackluster pool," noting a long-standing signage error ("Lanier Slands"), this feedback points to areas for improvement in minor details and consistency. Conversely, the glowing review that likened the experience to a "Ritz Carlton" and praised everything from the resort's beauty and food to the "top-notch customer service" and "divine afternoon tea," showcases the resort's potential to deliver truly exceptional moments. The positive comments about conference food ("some of the best") also indicate strong performance in specific areas. This duality suggests that while certain aspects might appear average to some, other elements and service interactions can be truly outstanding, contributing to an "unforgettable" experience for many guests. The overall consensus from many reviews is that Lanier Islands is a destination where guests don't need to leave the property, indicating its self-contained nature and the abundance of activities and services available.

I had a Ritz Carlton experience at this resort! The resort is absolutely gorgeous, the food was incredible and the customer service was top-notch. Not to mention, the incredible afternoon tea that we had at the Sydney restaurant! It was divine and rivaled my experience in Switzerland! Loved everything about our experience.

When staying anywhere on this property be aware. If you have any friends or family that wish to visit you for the day they will be charged a 20 dollar gate fee. It is not disclosed up front, if you want to visit family and stay in a cool resort. Remember they are going to charge your family and friends 20 bucks just to come visit. As this is a family resort many people travel to that also have family in the area be aware.

My experience at the Legacy Lodge was quite possibly one of the worst hotel stays I've ever had. I was there for less than 24 hours and everything about my experience was underwhelming at every turn. Overall, while the surrounding area and landscape is beautiful, the "resort" itself just looks tired. The rooms are dark with low ceilings and worn furniture. The food was horrible and to top it off, I had NO hot water in my room the entire time I was there, despite calling to have it fixed. My understanding from other guests was that they also experienced similar issues. When I did call to have it fixed, the person who answered at guest services abruptly said "we'll have engineering look into it" and hung up. No apology, nothing. The walls are paper thin between rooms as I was kept up all night by screaming drunks from the Blackwater group they had staying at the resort. Upon checkout, I stopped at the front desk to see if they cared to try to remedy any of the multiple displeasures I encountered during my stay. They didn't. The front desk manager's solution was to refund my $30 "resort credit", which was laughable because I never used any of the resort amenities in the first place because I was there for less than 24 hours for a conference. Hot water in the room is quite possibly the lowest common denominator for what a hotel should provide for guests, and the fact that Legacy Lodge couldn't even provide that was pitiful. I won't be back.

Had a face-lift a few years ago. Great property for a quiet weekend or a conference. Staff are really nice and accommodating. A+++
