VERY cozy and beautiful to stay at! Clean and Jane is great! (The lady that owns the place) Much better, prettier, and convenient than staying at a hotel. Lounge, bar and restaurant are great. Plus there is a gym and laundry room. Convenient in town as well. I love staying at historical places like this.
For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Westmoreland County region of Pennsylvania, particularly seeking an experience beyond the typical hotel, McCali Manor, LLC, located at 35 S 7th St, Youngwood, PA 15697, USA, presents a truly distinctive offering. This establishment is not merely a place to stay; it's a historic manor that has been thoughtfully repurposed to provide comfortable accommodation and also serves as a hub for creative education through its association with ArtTEK for TEENS workshops. It embodies a blend of residential charm, artistic endeavor, and community engagement, making it a unique destination.
The environment of McCali Manor is one of its most celebrated attributes. Described by guests as "VERY cozy and beautiful," it distinguishes itself from conventional hotels by embracing its historical roots. The manor itself is a charming, probably older building, meticulously maintained and possibly renovated in 2017 according to some sources, offering a sense of stepping back in time while still enjoying modern comforts. It likely features architectural details, original woodwork, and perhaps period furnishings that contribute to its unique character. The common areas, such as a lounge, bar, and restaurant mentioned by guests, suggest spaces designed for relaxation and social interaction, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Its location "right on the town square" in Youngwood further enhances its appeal, allowing guests to experience the local community directly, even witnessing events like a Memorial Day parade from their doorstep. This prime position offers both convenience and a quaint, small-town charm that larger, more impersonal hotels often lack.
The services at McCali Manor, LLC emphasize a personalized and attentive approach. Guest reviews consistently highlight the owner, Jane, as "great," indicating a hands-on management style that prioritizes guest satisfaction. This personalized service often includes going above and beyond, such as mailing a forgotten shoe to a guest, demonstrating a level of care uncommon in larger establishments. While it operates more like an aparthotel or inn with individual units, the presence of a lounge, bar, and restaurant suggests that food and beverage services are available on-site, contributing to a convenient and self-contained experience. The availability of amenities like a gym and laundry room further adds to the practical services offered, making it suitable for longer stays or for guests who appreciate home-like conveniences. The check-in time is typically 2:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM, with flexible arrangements for special requests.
A distinctive feature of McCali Manor is its integration with the ArtTEK for TEENS workshops. While McCali Manor provides accommodation, it's also the physical location for this innovative program. ArtTEK for TEENS is a non-profit initiative by River Art Works, established in 2018, aiming to bridge the gap between technology and creative fields for young adults in Westmoreland County. These workshops focus on cutting-edge creative technologies such as 3D printing, drone usage and drone art with video editing, and holography basics. Students in these programs, often high schoolers and recent graduates, learn practical skills that can lead to sustainable income in the arts. This unique dual identity means that guests staying at McCali Manor might find themselves in an environment that buzzes with creative energy, potentially even witnessing some of these innovative workshops or interacting with participants. This adds an educational and culturally enriching dimension to a stay at the Manor, setting it apart from standard lodging options.
In terms of other features, McCali Manor offers free Wi-Fi, essential for both leisure and business travelers. The rooms are designed for comfort and functionality, described as "very spacious" and each with its own character. Amenities like air conditioning, kitchenettes, queen beds, and cable TV are typically available, providing a comfortable and self-sufficient living space. The presence of both on-street and on-site parking is convenient for guests traveling by car. For business needs, the manor includes business center facilities and meeting/banquet rooms that can accommodate events, suggesting its suitability for small corporate gatherings or private functions. The number of rooms is limited, creating a more intimate and exclusive atmosphere compared to larger hotels.
Regarding promotional information, McCali Manor, LLC, like many unique properties, might offer special rates or packages directly through its booking channels or by contacting them via phone at (724) 547-4121 or +1 724-547-4121. Due to its unique and intimate nature, it is always recommended to contact the manor directly for the most current availability, rates, and any special offers. Nov 04, 2017 · KindahGreat place for our family. It was very spacious and right on the town square. We could walk outside the front door and watch the Memorial Day parade right in front of the manor. Jane even mailed us the shoe one of our kids left behind.
Jun 18, 2019 · Johnangelo LeggioOne of the worst dining experiences ever. Waited at least 10 minutes inside the door and no one attended to us or even acknowldged us. (It wasn't even busy. Maybe 10 people inside) We even rang the little bell so they knew we were there. People kept walking by us & never said a word. We took it upon ourselves to head to the bar for a drink, thinking maybe the bartender could help us out. Only 2 people at the bar and we stood there for another 5-10 minutes, the bartender never said a WORD to us. No beer/drink list or anything. We left and went elsewhere. WILL NEVER GO BACK!
Sep 26, 2015 · Paige GWe just left this restaurant and it was so good, I had to write a review. Portions were perfect, everything was fresh and homemade, prices were reasonable for the great food quality, and the owner was so kind and genuine. We will definitely be going back!
Jul 21, 2016 · Liz KagerVery much enjoyed our dinners, food was excellent. Waiting a few extra minutes for homemade is well worth it. Highly recommend the restaurant.
