My Love and I section hike the Appalachian Trail twice yearly and like to pamper ourselves on the front/back ends of our hikes. We've stayed 6 times in the Sexton Suite since April 2024. The suite is luxurious and the rest of the home is beautifully furnished. The atmosphere is chill and relaxing, as is the staff. Due to early morning shuttle pickups to get to the trail head or back to the airport, we weren't able to partake in the provided breakfasts, but with the fully-stocked kitchen, we were able to fix our own, so this didn't prove to be an issue. Kate was kind enough to make grocery runs for us to prepare our own dinners for our first two visits. For the other stays, she and staff graciously cooked delicious entrees/sides. Kate, Amy, and Donna have been nothing short of spectacular. We were treated like long-lost family. Our only regret is that our hike now has us so far north of Franklin that our shuttle expense is too cost prohibitive for us to continue to stay at McTernan Manor. We love it THAT much. Highly highly highly recommend. Sincerely, Lisa

May 04, 2025 · Lisa HreshoMy wife and I have made two visits and both rate among our most enjoyable B&B stays ever! First, the hospitality: both Kate and Amy were incredibly accommodating, thoughtful, kind, and provided outstanding food. Second, the mansion itself: so tastefully done with antiques and atmosphere that felt as if you were stepping back in time but with modern amenities. And finally, the property: so serene and peaceful and located just enough off the beaten path that it’s easy to really relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. We will stay here every chance we get, and recommend it without reservation to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway. P.S. for the cost, this was the best value we’ve found in the past few years of B&B or hotel stays— worth every penny!
May 16, 2025 · Vern HarlanWow! Our family booked a last minute for New Year's Eve. We couldn't have been happier with our decision. What a beautiful place to stay and such an accommodating staff. The night time fire and view was amazing. The rooms were incredible The View was second to none. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and after a very nice conversation with her we will be back. We also took an hour this morning and invited all of our friends that we could think of to enjoy this beautiful manor. Thanks for the hospitality ladies. It's very refreshing to he welcomed as family by strangers. We can't wait to come back in the spring.
Jan 01, 2025 · jeff cymanIt was a Merry Christmas at McTernan Manor with its charm being built in 1888 we all love hanging out here. It’s lots of fun and laughs. We had a delicious dinner with friends and family. Thankful for the gifts that we received from each other sharing in a beautiful day. We all love the owner Kate making us feel we are part of her family in so many ways.
Jan 01, 2025 · Susan BibleThis is a beautiful old manor. My daughter, a friend and I spent Christmas 2024 here. Amy, the manager, is delightful. Donna, the housekeeper, is so sweet. The atmosphere both inside and surrounding grounds make this the perfect get-away. Any issues I had with expectations I addressed with the proprietor, Kate. Some of these are out of her control through no fault of her own. Communication! Communication! Communication. This house is NOT Handicap Accessible!!! Kate, I apologize for Cheryl's behavior. I have known her casually for several years but had no idea how vehemently she claims victimhood. I paid for the extra room when she asked if she could join us. Needless to say, she will not be going anywhere with us again. I guess you don't really know someone through casual acquaintance. My daughter and I had a great time and it was the relaxing time we had hoped for (minus the whining). I accept responsibility for not ensuring the Handicap obstacles which I managed to overcome without incident. Thank you and your staff! Hope everyone has a great New Year!
