I’ll start by saying the two staff members I spoke to the most were very nice. The room was gross, beds were questionable, the bathroom left so much to be desired, the carpet was not vacuumed, the window cushions had mold, the window had dead bugs around it, we found a previous guests dirty clothes stuffed in a corner. The breakfast bar was “edible” and complete with extension cords, no A/C, bad coffee and pictures of starving children. There was a sign at the check in desk that said they’ll only change sheets and towels every 3 days, and even though you have 4 people in your room, they’ll only leave one singular towel and one singular washcloth. The pool towel were complete with poo stains as well.

Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bremen Introduce

Hello, fellow Georgians! When planning a trip through our beautiful state, especially along the I-20 corridor in West Georgia, finding a convenient and affordable place to stay is often a top priority. The Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bremen, located in Bremen, GA, presents itself as a budget-friendly option for travelers. This article aims to provide a factual and comprehensive overview of this hotel, drawing directly from available public information and recent guest experiences, to help you make an informed decision for your next stay.

As locals, we appreciate transparency and honest information, especially when it comes to travel. While the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bremen is positioned to offer basic amenities and a convenient location, it's crucial to acknowledge the serious concerns raised by recent guests. Some reviewers praised the staff for being "very nice" and acknowledged the "great" location. However, a significant number of reviews describe concerning issues regarding cleanliness, safety, and overall guest experience.

Guests reported rooms that were "gross," with "questionable" beds, "mold" on window cushions, "dead bugs around" windows, and "previous guests dirty clothes stuffed in a corner." One particularly alarming review detailed "actual boogers and dried blood on the walls," and found the room "clearly uncleaned" with "bedding that looked used." The cleanliness issues extended to "pool towels... complete with poo stains."

Beyond cleanliness, safety concerns were also highlighted. One review described a child sustaining "deep cuts on her toes" from the pool, with "No staff came to help, inspect the area, or even acknowledge the danger." Another critical safety warning was issued regarding the "VERY unsafe" back exit at night, described as a "blind spot" requiring guests to "walk behind a shed on a small walking path" to reach the parking lot.

Regarding other amenities, the breakfast was described as "very basic," "edible," with "no A/C, bad coffee and pictures of starving children" in the breakfast area. A "moldy biscuit" that caused illness was also reported, with the front desk's response being "You should have looked at it first." Professionalism and accountability were also cited as issues, with one guest stating the front desk "refused to give me a manager’s or corporate contact, and the employee walked away while I was still talking."

It is important for potential guests to be fully aware of these widely reported issues. While the hotel website states, "Our clean and accommodating guest rooms were designed with your comfort in mind," the recent guest reviews offer a contrasting perspective. This article aims to present all known information to help you determine if this hotel aligns with your expectations for comfort, cleanliness, and safety.

Location and Accessibility

The Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bremen is situated at 104 Price Creek Rd, Bremen, GA 30110, USA. This location offers significant accessibility advantages for travelers passing through West Georgia, particularly those utilizing Interstate 20.

Its positioning "conveniently located off I-20" makes it an accessible stop for those on long drives across Georgia or heading to and from Atlanta. This ease of highway access is frequently cited as a positive attribute, with guests acknowledging "The location is also great."

For those interested in local attractions, the hotel is positioned near a few key points of interest. It is described as "Pet-friendly hotel near University of West Georgia and John Tanner State Park." John Tanner State Park, known for its swimming lake, beach, and camping opportunities, is a popular local spot for outdoor recreation. The University of West Georgia, located in nearby Carrollton, also draws visitors for academic or collegiate events.

While Bremen itself is a smaller city, the hotel's location offers proximity to essential services. It’s noted as being near "Walmart," providing easy access to groceries or other necessities. For those driving, the hotel offers "free outdoor parking with electrical outlets," and "ample parking space for our guests," including "onsite RV/bus/truck parking" (though fees may apply for larger vehicles), which is a useful amenity for a roadside hotel. The proximity to these local amenities and major transportation routes makes its location a definite highlight for many travelers.

Services Offered

The Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bremen advertises several services designed to cater to the needs of travelers, aiming to provide a functional stay. However, it's important to cross-reference these advertised services with actual guest experiences as reported in reviews.

  • P 24-Hour Front Desk: The hotel maintains a "24-hour front desk," ensuring staff are available for check-in, check-out, and general inquiries at any time. While some staff members were described as "very nice," one review noted a lack of professionalism and accountability when escalating concerns.
  • P Complimentary Breakfast: The hotel offers a "free hot breakfast" or "complimentary continental breakfast," served daily. Advertised items include "pastries, cereals, fresh fruits, and hot beverages." However, guest reviews describe it as "very basic," "edible," with "no A/C, bad coffee" in the breakfast area, and one severe report of a "moldy biscuit" causing illness.
  • P Complimentary Wi-Fi: "Free WiFi" is available in all rooms and public areas, allowing guests to stay connected.
  • P Outdoor Pool: The hotel features an "outdoor pool" for guest use. Access is available from "11:00 AM to 8:30 PM." However, a severe safety concern was raised by a guest whose child sustained "deep cuts" from the pool, with no staff assistance or inspection offered. Reviews also mentioned "pool towel were complete with poo stains."
  • P Fitness Center: A "fitness center" is available on-site, advertised as "24-hour fitness center." One guest, however, reported significant noise from the gym directly above their room, leading to disturbances.
  • P Free Parking: The hotel offers "Free outdoor parking" and "free onsite self parking," including "wheelchair-accessible parking and van parking on site," and "RV/bus/truck parking" (fees may apply for large vehicles).
  • P Pet-Friendly Policy: The hotel is "pet-friendly," allowing "2 pets per room" with a "non-refundable fee of $25 per day." One source states a "pet deposit: USD 200.00 per stay" and a "pet fee: USD 35 per pet, per day plus USD 200.00 one-time cleaning fee," indicating potential variations or additional charges. "Pets may not be left unattended."
  • P In-Room Conveniences: Rooms are equipped with a "microwave, refrigerator," "coffee/tea maker," "desk," "television," and "blackout drapes/curtains." Some rooms are "Studio Suites" with "sleeper sofa" and "wet bar." USB charging plugs were noted in one positive review.
  • P Meeting Space: The hotel features "1 meeting room, which can be arranged to accommodate 25 conference or banquet guests" or a total of "350 sq ft of event space."
  • P Housekeeping: "Daily housekeeping" is listed as an amenity. However, one review explicitly states a sign at the desk indicated sheets and towels would only be changed "every 3 days," and that only "one singular towel and one singular washcloth" were provided for four people. Rooms were also reported as "clearly uncleaned" with "trash still in the room, bedding that looked used."

Given the discrepancy between advertised services and numerous critical guest experiences, potential visitors should exercise caution and directly inquire about current conditions if considering a stay.

Features / Highlights

Based on the provided information, identifying true "highlights" at the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bremen is challenging due to the severity and consistency of negative guest reviews. However, here are the features that the hotel either advertises or that some guests, despite significant issues, still mentioned in a positive light, alongside the critical feedback for balance:

  • P Convenient Location: This is the most consistently positive aspect mentioned, with guests agreeing that "The location is also great" and that it's "conveniently located off I-20." It offers easy access to John Tanner State Park and the University of West Georgia.
  • P Pet-Friendly Policy: For those traveling with pets, the hotel's acceptance of "up to 2 pets per room" (with associated fees) is an important feature, as not all hotels accommodate animals.
  • P Free Parking: The availability of "free outdoor parking," including spaces for RVs/buses/trucks, is a practical convenience for many travelers, especially those on road trips.
  • P In-Room Amenities (when functional): When rooms are clean and well-maintained, the presence of a "mini fridge and microwave," "55-in. TV," and "usb charging plugs" (as mentioned in one positive review) offers useful conveniences for guests. Suites also reportedly have a "sleeper sofa" and "wet bar."
  • P Staff Friendliness (selective): While professionalism was questioned in a critical review, some guests did state that "the two staff members I spoke to the most were very nice," and "The staff was nice." This suggests that individual interactions can be positive.
  • P "Newly Remodeled" Rooms (contested): One positive review stated rooms were "newly remodeled" and "very clean." However, this directly contradicts multiple other reviews describing rooms as "gross," "uncleaned," with "previous water damage that was painted over," and "mold." This indicates potential inconsistencies in room quality or a decline since the "remodel" was performed.

It is crucial to note that the positive aspects are largely overshadowed by severe concerns regarding cleanliness ("gross," "uncleaned," "boogers and dried blood on the walls," "dirty clothes," "mold"), safety (child injured at pool, "VERY unsafe" back exit), and service issues (moldy food response, refusal to provide management contact). These reported issues make it difficult to genuinely highlight many features without significant caveats.

Conclusion: Why This Place May Require Careful Consideration for Locals

For us Georgians, when planning a local trip or a stopover, we seek accommodations that offer a balance of convenience, comfort, and reliability. While the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bremen positions itself as an affordable option with a good location, the extensive and severe feedback from recent guests warrants significant caution for any local considering a stay here.

The hotel’s most undeniable advantage for locals is its location directly off I-20. This makes it an incredibly convenient stop for those traveling across the state or visiting nearby attractions like John Tanner State Park or the University of West Georgia. For budget-conscious travelers, the Microtel brand typically offers a more economical price point, which can be appealing for short stays or necessary overnight stops. The availability of free parking and its pet-friendly policy are also practical benefits that align with common traveler needs in Georgia.

However, it is imperative for locals to be fully aware of the documented issues that could severely impact their experience. The widespread reports of unsanitary conditions—ranging from "gross" and "uncleaned" rooms with "mold" and "dead bugs" to "pool towels... complete with poo stains"—are deeply concerning and directly contradict expectations for basic hotel cleanliness. Beyond cleanliness, the critical safety concerns, particularly a child’s injury at the pool and the description of a "VERY unsafe" back exit at night, raise serious alarms that cannot be overlooked. Furthermore, the reports of a "very basic" and even "moldy biscuit" breakfast, combined with a perceived lack of professional response from staff when issues were raised, point to a significant gap between advertised services and actual delivery.

Given the severity and consistency of these negative experiences, it is difficult to recommend the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bremen without significant reservations. While its location and affordability might initially seem attractive, the potential for an uncomfortable, unsafe, and unsatisfactory stay, as described by numerous guests, suggests that alternative accommodations in the area should be thoroughly explored. For your peace of mind and safety, especially when traveling with family, it's crucial to prioritize hotels that consistently meet fundamental standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest service.

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Our stay at the Microtel Inn by Wyndham in Bremen, Georgia was the most disgusting and dangerous hotel experience I’ve ever had—and I’m genuinely shocked this place is still allowed to operate. Let’s start with the room: it was clearly uncleaned. There was trash still in the room, bedding that looked used, and actual boogers and dried blood on the walls. We have two small children, and staying in these conditions was both disturbing and unsafe. I reported the room and was offered another, but I declined—if this room was this filthy, I had no faith the next would be better. Then came the pool incident. My young daughter came out bleeding from both feet, with matching deep cuts on her toes. She was crying and covered in blood. No staff came to help, inspect the area, or even acknowledge the danger. How is a pool that unsafe still open? The final straw was the moldy biscuit served at breakfast. I bit into it and immediately knew something was wrong. It was full of visible mold, and shortly after, I became extremely sick. I brought it to the front desk, and the response was “You should have looked at it first.” That’s the level of concern we received—for moldy food that made a guest ill. When I tried to escalate things, the front desk refused to give me a manager’s or corporate contact, and the employee walked away while I was still talking. Zero professionalism. Zero accountability. After we left, I looked at the Google reviews. They are filled with complaints that mirror our exact experience—and the hotel’s responses are disgusting. They call guests liars, argue in the replies, and take no responsibility. It’s honestly shocking. The only good thing about this place is the location. But that doesn’t matter when your child is injured, you end up sick, and staff treat you like you’re the problem. I will be filing complaints with Wyndham corporate, the health department, and the BBB. Do not risk your family’s safety here.

Everything went well except check-in. We arrived at 1:00, which is only 2 hours ahead of normal check-in at 3:00. We found that they would charge us $45 for an "early check-in". We have traveled to many locations and have stayed in many different hotels, but never been charged extra money for an early check-in. So, watch out. This may be a new trend.

The hotel was clean and the staff was polite. Our room was small, but for the price, it was plenty as we were there only to sleep. We were woken up around 2 AM by the television in the room above us. It was blaring loud. So be forewarned, the walls are thin. We could also hear the TV in the room next to us when we left in the morning.

Nice little hotel. Breakfast was good with a nice variety from pastries, cereal and waffles to sausage and fried eggs. Shower wasn't the cleanest.
