Room was so beautiful. My only problem was the TV in the bed room didn't work right. I can't sleep without it. But other then that we would have loved to spend another night or two. Very nice place.

Paugus Bay Condominium Association Introduce

For those seeking an extended stay or a comfortable "home away from home" in the heart of New Hampshire's scenic Lakes Region, Paugus Bay Condominium Association in Gilford, NH, presents a compelling option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category. Located at 131 Lake St, Gilford, NH 03249, USA, and accessible via phone at (978) 912-0123 or mobile at +1 978-912-0123, this association offers individually owned and operated condominium units, providing a more spacious and residential feel than a traditional hotel. Voted #1 vacation rental in the Lakes Region in the "Best of the Lake" contest, it has garnered a reputation for its beautiful accommodations and convenient location.

Environment and Location: Lakeside Tranquility with Urban Access

Paugus Bay Condominium Association is ideally situated near the shores of Paugus Bay, a picturesque arm of the expansive Lake Winnipesaukee. While the address is Gilford, it's often associated with Laconia due to its close proximity and easy access to both towns' attractions. The location offers a balanced environment: the tranquility of a lakeside setting coupled with the convenience of being just minutes away from major hubs. Guests can enjoy views of Paugus Bay and the surrounding natural beauty, which is a significant draw for visitors to the Lakes Region.

The strategic placement of the condominiums means guests are "conveniently located for us, exactly where we needed to be," as one reviewer noted. It's approximately 2.9 to 3.5 miles from the bustling Weirs Beach, making it a short drive or even a pleasant walk to its boardwalk, arcades, shops, and restaurants. The association is also "just around the corner from several restaurants, 2 grocery stores, Walmart, CVS, TJ Maxx, Homegoods and Dunkins," providing ample options for dining out or stocking up on essentials for longer stays. This accessibility to amenities, combined with the serene bay surroundings, makes it an attractive base for exploring the diverse offerings of the Lakes Region, including Gunstock Mountain Resort for year-round activities, numerous hiking trails, and various water sports on Lake Winnipesaukee.

Services and Amenities: Designed for Extended Comfort

As an extended stay option, Paugus Bay Condominium Association units are designed to offer more than just a room. The accommodations are typically spacious apartment-style units, often featuring one or more bedrooms, a comfortable living room, and a full kitchen. These kitchens are well-equipped with amenities such as full-sized refrigerators/freezers, stovetops, microwaves, coffee/tea makers, and the necessary cookware and dishes, empowering guests to prepare their own meals, which is a major advantage for longer visits. One guest raved, "It was warm, smelled great and was an amazing home away from home," highlighting the residential comfort provided. Another appreciated the beauty of the room, despite a minor technical issue with a TV.

The association also provides excellent communal amenities. A standout feature is the "beautiful, newly remodeled pool and outside lounging area." Many units provide access to a "private pool," and the complex typically includes an in-ground pool, which is a popular draw, especially during warmer months. Beyond the pool, guests often have access to a BBQ area and a function room, providing spaces for social gatherings or relaxation out of the sun. The convenience of "coin laundry onsite" is another practical service, crucial for extended stays, allowing guests to manage their personal belongings easily. Free WiFi is available in every suite, ensuring guests can stay connected, whether for work or leisure. Free parking on premises is also a standard amenity, facilitating ease of travel for those with vehicles.

Features: Spacious Living with Home-Like Comforts

The core feature of Paugus Bay Condominium Association lies in its spacious and individually decorated condominium units. These are not standard hotel rooms but rather full apartments or suites, ranging in size (e.g., studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom options), providing ample space for relaxation and living. Many units boast a "peaceful balcony with retractable awning overlooking the lake," offering a private outdoor space to enjoy the views. Some units may include specific features like a fireplace, although functionality can vary as noted by past guests. The design often emphasizes an open-concept living space, connecting the kitchen, dining, and family rooms, which contributes to the "home away from home" feeling. Units are furnished to a high standard, often with new furnishings and appliances, high-quality linens, and blackout curtains for a restful sleep.

The individual ownership and operation of these units means that while there's a consistent standard of amenities across the association, the interior decor and specific appliances may vary from unit to unit, adding a unique character to each stay. The emphasis on cleanliness is evident, with property managers often implementing "extra cleaning precautions" and disinfecting high-touch surfaces between rentals. The property generally maintains a strict no-smoking and no-pets policy to ensure comfort for all guests, particularly those with allergies. The minimum age for check-in is typically 25, indicating a preference for a more mature guest demographic, though families are explicitly welcomed and popular with guests booking family stays.

Promotional Information and Guest Experiences: A Popular Choice for Longer Stays

Paugus Bay Condominium Association is frequently chosen for its ability to provide a comfortable base for extended visits to the Lakes Region. Guests often express a desire to "spend another night or two" or "can't wait for the opportunity to come back again," which speaks volumes about their positive experiences. The feeling of being in an "amazing home away from home" is a common sentiment, highlighting the residential comfort these condominiums offer. While some guests experienced minor inconveniences, such as a non-working bedroom TV or noise from upstairs neighbors, these seem to be isolated incidents and do not overshadow the overall positive impression of the beautiful rooms and welcoming environment.

The association's strategic location ensures guests can easily access a wide array of activities year-round. From enjoying Lake Winnipesaukee's watersports and boat tours in the summer to exploring fall foliage and winter sports at Gunstock Mountain, the area provides endless entertainment. The proximity to local amenities like grocery stores and restaurants further enhances the convenience for extended stays, reducing the need to frequently dine out. The self-catering aspect, enabled by the full kitchens, is a significant promotional point, appealing to those who prefer to cook and save on dining expenses. Overall, Paugus Bay Condominium Association is a highly-rated extended stay option for those seeking spacious, comfortable, and well-located accommodations in the Lakes Region, perfect for both short escapes and longer, more immersive vacations.

The hubby and I haven't had a honey Moon, after 12 years we finally had the opportunity to have our mini get away. We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely enjoyed our time. The only downfall was the people upstairs kept us up until 2am. It was warm, smelled great and was an amazing home away from home. I can't wait for the opportunity to come back again.

Stayed here with the family for a couple of days and had a great time. Our condo was very nice and extremely clean. It had everything we needed and more. There is so much to do in the area. We will definitely be staying here again!

The surface areas of the condo looks wonderful. Nice furniture and decorations. Open the oven door, disgustingly filthy, it looks like it's never been cleaned! Slide the curtains back to take a shower, the tub is slimy, dark dirty areas on the bottom and sides. The inside of the cover of the garbage can looks like it has never been cleaned! The carpeting is a beige color with many dirty dark stains. $1600.00 per month for the summer and $1200.00 the rest of the year. If your okay with an unclean place to stay go for it! If you prefer a clean place, find some place else!

So I wanted to write a review on this place. Many people who travel on vacations here or do local nurse travel work stay here. Though it was easy to get in I would NOT recommend this place. The people who stay here are loud and rude, the people above us always sounded like they were moving furniture at all times of the day and night, so sleep was not possible. The hot water runs out before you are barely wet in the shower. Though the owner of the unit had recently bought a new couch the bed was anything but new. A lot of loud fighting neighbors. No ice maker in the freezer. The owner couldn't even remember my name when asking how early I could be out so she could move someone else in. Never once did she check in to see how things were going. Believe me save your money go to a hotel were you can call the front desk if people are being too loud to allow sleep and they handle it. Go to a hotel where they recall your name and dont rush you out the door, go to a hotel where you get a hot water for an entire shower not the first 30 seconds.. STAY AWAY from this place, not worth the headache. I will never stay here again.
