This property is ideal for a secluded getaway that will leave you feeling relaxed and renewed. The ambiance is warm, woodsy and inviting, and also a bit eclectic. Our room in the lodge was spacious and well appointed. All the staff were friendly and courteous. We enjoyed hiking (saw a mama bear and cubs), horseback riding, and a guided tour of the night sky in the awe-inspiring observatory. I don't golf, but the course looked beautiful. I thought all the food was quite good, which is important considering we were eating all our meals there. I really enjoyed this property and the spectacular Blue Ridge Mountains. I hope to visit again.

Amazing place! Took my mother and grandmother and we had a wonderful time! You can stay as busy as you’d like with activities or just hang out and enjoy the gorgeous views. If you’re bringing your dog, there are so many great areas to walk them and it is super pet friendly. All of our food was great as well. We definitely plan to return!

We recently celebrated my wife's 50th birthday at Primland's Hawk Eye residence. Our group consisted of 12 adults and 8 children. Miranda Steele helped us with every aspect of planning our getaway, from meal planning, kids camps, adult activities, live music, spa treatments etc. Every detail was perfectly executed despite several last minute changes due to unforeseen weather conditions. On arrival we were greeted by the local team led by Makayla who took care of our group's every need throughout our stay. The Hawk Eye is an incredible property with amazing views and unparalleled amenities. We enjoyed Astronomy, the Spa, RTVs, Wine Tasting, Kid Camps, Live Bluegrass at the residence, dinner at Leatherflower, lunch at the Laurel, hike with Tim the Naturalist... I'm probably forgetting more, but you get the picture. Every aspect of our getaway was flawless and our guests had the most amazing time. Thank you to the entire Primland team, especially Miranda, Makayla, Hannah, Cricket and Grace for making our stay so unforgettable!

Husband and I came for a weekend baby moon. Starting with the good: service was great from the bartenders to wait staff and event coordinator. Hotel is absolutely beautiful and so much to do! The bad, the room: The room was a little bit run down, shower door rubber was completely falling off and kept having to reattach it. Woke up around 3am to a noise we couldn’t figure out. After turning the lights on we saw a mouse in the bathroom that started running all over our room. Called the front desk and was told by Kristin that there wasn’t maintenance around but she could call them, but wasn’t sure what else to do. My husband ended up having to kill it (gross) so it would stop running around the room. Our room was also located above the kitchen/restaurant. We ended up packing our bags and checking out around 4:30am since the mouse incident. Note that there is not 24 hour valet or someone working the gates so we had to get our car, and then got stuck trying to exit the north gate. When we checked out we were told that someone from management would be giving us a call about the mouse situation but haven’t heard anything yet. Definitely expect better conditions for the cost of the hotel, and the fact that I have never seen a mouse in hotels that aren’t 5 stars like this. I will say outside of the room situation we did enjoy our stay, but probably wouldn’t return. Update: The GM did call and was very apologetic about the mouse situation, and noted pest control was called out first thing. We were compensated for our stay which was appreciated.

If we could rate this place 1000 out of 10, we would. We had the absolute best experience here this past weekend celebrating my birthday and engagement. The pictures online do not do this place any justice. We stayed in the Pinnacle King room, and the views from our windows were breathtaking—snow-filled mountains that were nothing less than picture-perfect! All of the food was phenomenal; we highly recommend the pig candy—delicious! What impressed us the most was how detail-oriented all of the staff were. And when we say all of the staff, we mean every single one we encountered. From start to finish, they made our trip incredible! Autumn and Noel were fantastic guides for our horseback riding and ATV ride. They literally got out in the snow with us, smiling all the while, and ensured we enjoyed ourselves. On the day of my birthday, every single staff member wished me a happy birthday without me even mentioning it, and after we got engaged, we received numerous congratulations as well. Jamaica and Ashley at the bar were so kind and made me a special birthday cocktail that was to die for. We just sat and talked to them for hours. Emily, the hostess at the restaurant, was so sweet, and Aaron, our server at Leather Flower, was the absolute coolest—so professional and even shared stories about a famous family member he had :-). Tori and Raine at the Stables restaurant were great as well and the food there was my favorite and don't forget the live music! We absolutely cannot forget about John, one of the restaurant managers, and Will, the GM. They both went above and beyond throughout the entire trip to ensure my birthday and engagement were one of a kind and unforgettable. We cannot thank you all enough for the exceptional service you provided us this weekend. Special thanks also to all of the shuttle service staff who picked us up and carried us back to our rooms safely each night in the snow. We are definitely planning another trip here in the summer to play a round of golf and are also looking into visiting other properties as well.
