Red Maple Inn Introduce

The Red Maple Inn, located at 7545 Columbia Blvd, Berwick, PA 18603, USA, operates as a lodging establishment primarily catering to budget-conscious travelers. For inquiries and bookings, the hotel can be reached at (570) 752-6220 or via mobile at +1 570-752-6220. As a property within the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform category, it aims to provide accommodation services to local users and visitors. This introduction will objectively detail the hotel's environment, services, features, and promotional information, drawing extensively from the provided customer reviews and available online information to offer a comprehensive and balanced perspective.

The environment of the Red Maple Inn, as described by guest reviews, presents a mixed picture. Its location on Columbia Blvd (also referred to as US-11 or State Route 93 in some contexts) suggests direct access to a major thoroughfare, which can be convenient for travelers passing through the area. However, this also implies proximity to a major road, potentially leading to noise. The immediate surroundings might include commercial establishments given its address on a boulevard. Reviews indicate that the motel tends to cater to "long termers," which can affect the overall atmosphere, with some occupants reportedly "watching your every move" or attempting to "dictate who your visitors could be." This suggests a community dynamic that may not be typical of standard transient hotels. The physical environment within the rooms has been a significant point of concern, with reports of an "odor of mold and stale tobacco upon arrival." Furthermore, comments about "uneven" floors with a "2 inch gap" creating a "tripping hazard" point to potential structural or maintenance issues that impact the comfort and safety of the space. While some reviews mention that for a quick overnight stay, the location is sufficient, the overall environment, particularly for extended stays, seems to be a significant detractor due to reported conditions and social dynamics among long-term residents.

The services offered by Red Maple Inn, as gathered from reviews, typically include essential amenities for a basic stay. Guests can expect services such as complimentary Wi-Fi, cable TV, and an individual air conditioning/heating unit in the rooms. Each room also comes with a shower and tub, toilet, vanity, mini-fridge, and microwave, providing conveniences for self-catering or storing food items. The hotel features a 24-hour front desk, with staff reportedly fluent in English and Hindi, indicating accessibility for a diverse range of guests. However, service quality appears inconsistent. While one review praises the "owner of the place was nice" and mentions that the "office is unlocked" and staff might "answer the door" for soda machine access, other accounts describe negative interactions. Specifically, one severe review details being "KICKED out with nowhere to go" after paying in advance, with no clear "cause no reason," and calls the action "bullshit." Another review notes "other office staff was way too nosy" and reported "double standards for certain people," implying differential treatment where some guests "would allow some people to go without paying for their stay, but others had to pay more than advertised and pay upfront." Housekeeping services are also a point of concern, with one guest stating "nobody cleaned my room for that whole week," raising questions about the frequency and consistency of cleaning for longer stays. While pets are officially not allowed according to a sign, a review observes "other occupants had multiple dogs in a room," indicating a potential discrepancy between stated policy and actual practice.

The features of the Red Maple Inn are those typically found in a budget motel, intended to provide basic functionality. Rooms are individually decorated and furnished, according to some online descriptions, though the quality of these furnishings is heavily scrutinized in guest feedback. Room features commonly listed include cable channels on the TV, heating, and desks. However, the condition of these features is a major concern. Reviews mention "blankets had burn holes and looked shredded from maybe a dryer or just very used," and critically, "blood on the mattress under the fitted sheet." Other issues include "very dim" light bulbs that "blew soon after we settled in," "paper thin walls," and "minor holes in the drywall." These reports suggest a significant lack of upkeep and cleanliness that directly impacts the comfort and usability of the room features. While a "double room for 3 adults" is mentioned, the underlying issues overshadow the functional capacity. The motel reportedly has a soda machine in the office, but its accessibility is described as "hit and miss." Free self-parking is available, and there are no smoking rooms, though smoking is permitted outside. Importantly, some external listings indicate the Red Maple Inn does not have a pool area and does not allow pets, despite the contradictory guest observation. The property aims to offer accessibility for guests requiring it, though the reported uneven floors raise questions about the extent of this accessibility.

From a promotional standpoint, the Red Maple Inn's primary appeal lies in its potentially affordable nightly rate for a quick stopover. One review notes a "decent price of 55 per night" for a single night, making it an option for those "passing through the area and you're absolutely tired and just need a quick place to sleep." This suggests its niche is primarily for transient travelers seeking minimal amenities at a low cost. However, the overwhelming negative feedback on cleanliness, maintenance, and service consistency significantly undermines any positive promotional messaging. Phrases like "DO NOT DO IT! Bed bugs, and cockroaches and mold... Oh my!" and "horrible case of BED BUGS" are critical warnings that would deter most potential guests. The dissatisfaction with long-term rates ("definitely not worth 325 a week, or 1300 a month") further limits its promotional reach for extended stays. While some third-party booking sites might advertise "affordable accommodation with outstanding service," the provided reviews strongly contradict this claim. The presence of a "sign that says no pets are allowed" juxtaposed with actual pet sightings indicates a lack of consistent policy enforcement, which can also impact guest trust. For any promotional efforts, the hotel would need to address the fundamental issues of cleanliness and guest experience to rebuild confidence. Current pricing observed on some platforms, such as $61 in December for a one-night stay, might be considered low-budget, but the accompanying risks, as detailed in guest reviews, make it a challenging sell for any length of stay beyond an absolute emergency. Therefore, while it exists within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the promotional messaging for the Red Maple Inn is severely impacted by direct customer experiences that highlight significant deficiencies in comfort, hygiene, and management.

Services included wifi, cable TV, ac/heat unit, a shower and tub, toilet, vanity, mini fridge, and microwave. Room had an odor of mold and stale tobacco upon arrival. Blankets had burn holes and looked shredded from maybe a dryer or just very used? There was blood on the mattress under the fitted sheet. The light bulbs were very dim and blew soon after we settled in. The walls were paper thin and had some minor holes in the dry wall from the table and chairs against them. The floor under the carpet was uneven, which is a tripping hazard because there was a 2 inch gap between one section of the floor and the other. We had a double room for 3 adults. The occupants of the motel were mostly long termers, and some watched your every move, and others tried to dictate who your visitors could be. The owner of the place was nice but the other office staff was way too nosy. There was double standards for certain people, as in they would allow some people to go without paying for their stay, but others had to pay more than advertised and pay upfront or were told to vacate the premises. It's definitely not worth 325 a week, or 1300 a month. However if you stay for a night it was a decent price of 55 per night. In our case, the stay was not very comfortable, it was just a place to stay, and even for 55 a night, the linens couldve been a lot better/comfortable/cleaner, and the odor couldve been addressed before renting the room out. There is a sign that says no pets are allowed, but other occupants had multiple dogs in a room. There is a soda machine in the office but it's a hit and miss if the office is unlocked or if they want to answer the door. I would recommend this place if you're passing through the area and you're absolutely tired and just need a quick place to sleep for the night however I would not recommend this place for those vacationing in the area for any length of time, or those who need special accommodations.

The price makes this worth rating three stars. The bathroom was clean. There’s a refrigerator and microwave and tv. The air conditioner is new and everything else is in various states of disrepair; cracks in the toilet seat, missing light bulbs. But there were no bugs or anything that ruined the night. It’s quiet and not near a highway. Overall a fairly good value. But not the nicest place in the world. Run down but affordable.

By far the worst motel I've ever stepped foot in. Other guests whom live at the motel constantly fighting and yelling. Rooms are not the cleanest and it's next to a very busy road.

This is a lovely quick, safe stop. The wifi was super strong, no problems. I liked how clean and comfy roon was, the turquoise colored doors were a very nice touch. There is definitely pride of ownership!
