My Sorority Sisters and I were looking for a location to host our annual retreat and we consider ourselves lucky to find the Southampton Inn. The conference room we reserved was available early so we could set up for the day. I honestly don't have any complaints and I hope my chapter agrees to use this facility again. Everything included in the contract was delivered as promised. If we needed anything additional, (for example we requested condiments for our lunch) it was delivered right away. Jan was always there to assist us prior to the event and the day of. My only regret was not reserving the hotel room starting Friday night instead of Saturday. I could have saved myself an early morning drive. In regards to the location it is very serene and well kept. I just wish there were other restaurants that were walking distance. I believe the closest one is called Shippy's which we are going to try to visit the next time we stay. If you need space to host a meeting, I think the Southampton Inn is a great option and a great way to support local establishments.

Southampton Inn Introduce

For individuals and groups utilizing the "Hotels Near Me" platform category to find lodging or event spaces in Southampton, NY, the Southampton Inn presents itself as an option. Located at 91 Hill St, Southampton, NY 11968, USA, this establishment can be contacted via phone at (631) 283-6500 or mobile at +1 631-283-6500. When considering any hotel through a "Hotels Near Me" search, it's crucial to gather a comprehensive understanding of what to expect, encompassing its environment, services, features, and any available promotional information, alongside the experiences of previous guests. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview based on publicly available information and customer feedback.

The "Hotels Near Me" category is designed to connect users with immediate or conveniently located accommodation options. Southampton Inn's location on Hill Street places it within the prestigious and well-known village of Southampton, a highly desirable destination in the Hamptons on Long Island, New York. The Hamptons are celebrated for their scenic beauty, pristine beaches, and upscale ambiance. The environment of the Southampton Inn is described in one review as "very serene and well kept," suggesting a peaceful and aesthetically pleasing setting that aligns with the Hamptons' reputation for tranquility and manicured landscapes. While the area itself is known for its exclusive nature, the review does mention a desire for more "walking distance" restaurants, with Shippy's being the closest identified option. This implies that while the immediate hotel grounds might be serene, guests might need to drive to access a wider variety of dining establishments in the village. This balance between a serene hotel environment and potentially limited immediate walkability to diverse eateries is a point for consideration.

Regarding services, the Southampton Inn appears to cater to both leisure travelers and those seeking event facilities. A core service, as highlighted by a sorority retreat, is the provision of conference or meeting spaces. The review specifically mentions the availability of a reserved conference room early for setup and prompt delivery of additional requests, such as condiments for lunch. This indicates a responsive and accommodating event staff, with a particular commendation for "Jan" who assisted both prior to and on the day of the event. This suggests a dedicated event coordination service. For hotel guests, standard services would typically include front desk assistance and room maintenance. While specific details on services like complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi accessibility, or concierge services are not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, they are generally expected for hotels in this category. The fact that the hotel can effectively host events implies a level of professional service in catering and logistical support. However, one review noted that the "front desk staff were young kids lacking training and no personality," which points to a potential inconsistency in the quality of guest-facing services beyond event coordination.

The features of the Southampton Inn, based on the provided information, include its conference facilities, suitable for meetings and retreats. The availability of a conference room and support for event setup are definite features. As a hotel, it would naturally offer a range of guest rooms. However, the condition of these rooms is a significant point of contention in customer feedback. One reviewer described the rooms as "old and dated," highlighting issues such as a "narrow, squeaky staircase" to the second floor without offer of luggage assistance, cracks around the room door allowing hallway light to penetrate, a "loud and blasted all night" AC unit, "tiny" bathrooms with no space for toiletries, and "thin walls" that allowed noise to travel. This suggests a need for room renovations or upgrades to meet contemporary guest expectations for comfort and amenities. The presence of a "serene and well kept" location is also a feature, offering a pleasant backdrop for stays or events. While not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, typical Hamptons inns might offer features such as outdoor spaces (gardens, patios), possibly a pool during warmer months, or common areas like lounges, however, specific details for the Southampton Inn cannot be confirmed from the given information.

Promotional information for the Southampton Inn would likely emphasize its location in the desirable Hamptons, its suitability for events and retreats, and its serene environment. For those looking to book a meeting or conference, the positive experience of the sorority retreat regarding early access to the conference room and prompt service would be a strong selling point. The hotel might offer special rates for group bookings or extended stays, particularly for events. Given its Hamptons location, promotions might also target seasonal tourism, offering packages for summer beachgoers, fall foliage visitors, or winter holiday events. However, the highly critical review regarding pricing is a crucial piece of information. The reviewer stated that they "paid $1100 per night" with taxes and fees, deeming it "outrageous for the type of hotel and condition," likening it to a "low budget hotel." This suggests that while the hotel is in a premium location, its perceived value for money is a significant concern for some guests, especially at peak pricing. Therefore, any promotional efforts would need to address this perceived value proposition. It would be advisable for prospective guests to contact the hotel directly at (631) 283-6500 or +1 631-283-6500 to inquire about current rates, promotional packages, and to clarify what is included in the price, especially during different seasons.

Customer reviews offer contrasting perspectives that are vital for an objective introduction. One review, from a sorority sister who hosted an annual retreat, was overwhelmingly positive concerning the event facilities and staff. She felt "lucky to find the Southampton Inn," appreciated the conference room's early availability, and noted that "Everything included in the contract was delivered as promised." The prompt delivery of additional requests and the helpfulness of "Jan" were highlighted. The only regret was not reserving a hotel room for an earlier night, indicating satisfaction with the overall experience and a desire to return. This review strongly recommends the Southampton Inn for meetings and as a way to "support local establishments." This perspective indicates the hotel can be an excellent choice for organized events where staff support and logistical delivery are paramount.

Conversely, another review provided a highly negative assessment of the hotel's value and room quality. This guest felt the "hotel is not worth the money," citing that the "only two positive things are the location and the staff." However, even the staff received mixed feedback, with front desk personnel described as "young kids lacking training and no personality." The primary complaints revolved around the "old and dated" rooms, specific issues included: "narrow, squeaky staircase" with no luggage help, cracks in the door frame allowing light, a "loud and blasted all night" AC unit, "tiny" bathrooms with no space, and "thin walls" leading to noise transfer. The reviewer found the $1100 per night price (with taxes and fees) "outrageous" for a hotel of that condition, comparing it to a "low budget hotel." This reviewer "would not recommend this hotel."

In conclusion, for local users searching "Hotels Near Me" in Southampton, the Southampton Inn presents itself as a property with a serene and well-kept environment in a prime Hamptons location. It appears to excel as an event venue, offering accommodating staff and reliable delivery on contractual agreements, as evidenced by positive feedback from a sorority retreat. However, potential guests should be aware of significant concerns raised in other reviews regarding the condition and outdated nature of the guest rooms, issues with noise and privacy, and a perceived lack of value for money, especially at high price points. While the location and the attentiveness of event staff are definite advantages, the quality of individual guest rooms and front desk service appears inconsistent. Prospective visitors are strongly advised to directly inquire about room conditions, specific amenities, and pricing before booking, particularly if comfort and modern facilities are a high priority for their stay.

This hotel is not worth the money. The only two positive things are the location and the staff. The rooms are old and dated. We stayed on the 2nd floor and had to walk up a narrow, squeaky staircase and were not offered help with our luggage. The door to our room had cracks between the door and the frame so the light from the hallway (that we couldn't turn off) shone through the room making it hard to sleep. It has an ac unit that was loud and blasted all night. The bathrooms were tiny and there was no room for our toiletries. The walls were so thin that you could hear everything. The front desk staff were young kids lacking training and no personality. If the price were reasonable, then this would be acceptable, however, with taxes and fees, we paid $1100 per night which was outrageous for the type of hotel and condition. I get it is The Hamptons but this was equivalent to staying in a low budget hotel. I would not recommend this hotel.

I like the place, I’ve stayed there one night and my only gripe is that the lobby has a unique smell to it. Otherwise there’s a bed, a shower and some pillows.

Stayed here for a night. The rooms are average. The front desk service was friendly and accommodating. Very clean. They have a great variety for their breakfast. The 5 stars is for their AWESOME massive fire pit! We had the best time sitting there talking with people from all over different states in RI for all different reasons. They also have a great view of the sunset. We will stay again. It’s a convenient location as well. Right near our favorite restaurant Trattoria Romano

Think of Marriott Courtyard or Hampton Inn minus one star. Only good if location three blocks off Main Street matters. Things like small bathrooms, insufficient towels; one single bar of soap for using at sink and in tub; no room service; no place to get ANY kind of food after 10pm on a Friday night; including vending machines in locked game room. At $7y50 per night and higher, a complete ripoff. Handicapped? You need to deal with steps everywhere. There have to be better places than this. BUT restaurant is very good. Dining outside was problematic because of Yellowjackets.
