I was in town for a press conference at the capital. It was my first time in Harrisburg and the group I was with chose this hotel. It was nice and the complimentary breakfast and dinner was definitely a nice addition for anyone who enjoys a buffet. I would also like to say James is one of the hardest working people I’ve seen in a while! That man should be running the place, he deserves a raise! He was friendly, attentive, just a good guy with a great spirit! Making sure the food was out, everything was clean, taking care of the trash etc. Now the front desk staff was very nice and friendly with the exception of Yasmin. From the time I walked in the door she had an attitude, mam humble yourself! You probably didn’t even need a degree to get your position! The group I was with had catered a dinner for us the first night we were there. Barbecue brisket, chicken, Mac n cheese, garlic biscuits, coleslaw, baked beans, brownies, Carmel cake. So we took a plate of food and dessert back to the room to put in the fridge. A full plate of food untouched. A full plate of desserts! So why would house keeping take all of our stuff including drinks from the fridge, chips, pineapples, popcorn down to the front desk minus our food? I believe they ate that food! They claim to have thrown it away? But why if I asked to have my food taken to the front desk with my things? It doesn’t even make sense! If I didn’t want it why would it be in the fridge? And you took the other stuff out the fridge and took it to the front desk? They are the food! Then Yasmin offered hot dogs and beans in place of barbecue brisket??

However, it is crucial to consider the experiences of real customers, which can offer a nuanced perspective. The provided reviews for the Staybridge Suites Harrisburg Hershey present a mix of very positive and significantly negative feedback. One reviewer highly praised the "complimentary breakfast and dinner," calling them "definitely a nice addition for anyone who enjoys a buffet." This guest singled out an employee named James, describing him as "one of the hardest working people I’ve seen in a while," highlighting his friendliness, attentiveness, and dedication to ensuring food was out and everything was clean. This strongly positive feedback about a specific staff member and the dining offerings is a significant plus.
Conversely, the same reviewer also noted an issue with a front desk staff member named Yasmin, stating, "From the time I walked in the door she had an attitude." This highlights an inconsistency in front desk service, which can impact a guest's first impression and overall experience.
Another review detailed a disturbing incident regarding housekeeping: "We took a plate of food and dessert back to the room to put in the fridge. They are the food!" This accusation of staff eating guest food and the questionable explanation regarding its disposal represents a very serious breach of trust and property. The reviewer's subsequent comment about Yasmin offering "hot dogs and beans in place of barbecue brisket" further exacerbates the perceived poor handling of the situation.
A third review highlights both pros and cons related to the location and amenities. The guest appreciated the "several free J-1772 L2 charging ports" for their EV, although they noted that "the hotel is allowing guests not driving an EV to park in the spots." They found the "room was fine and equipped for long stays" and "Breakfast was great." However, the proximity to the Farm Show Complex led to noise issues: "we were awakened at 3am by trash trucks emptying numerous large dumpsters, which created a lot of noise. It so happened that there was a dog show going on and then, a seeming herd of dogs started barking and howling at dawn. Most events shouldn’t be this noisy." This indicates that while the location is convenient for event attendees, it can also lead to significant noise disturbances, especially during specific events.
In conclusion, for local users and travelers searching on "Hotels Near Of Me" in Harrisburg, PA, the Staybridge Suites Harrisburg Hershey by IHG offers comprehensive amenities tailored for extended stays, including fully equipped kitchens, complimentary breakfast and evening receptions, and EV charging. Its immediate proximity to the Farm Show Complex is a major advantage for event-goers. However, potential guests should be aware of significant inconsistencies in service, particularly severe issues reported with housekeeping regarding guest property and food, and occasional rude front desk staff. While some staff members are highly praised, the reported negative incidents regarding personal property and noise from nearby events are critical considerations. It is a hotel with strong potential due to its features, but the varying nature of guest experiences means expectations should be managed carefully.

Mar 28, 2025 · Madia WilliamsWe were here from out of town visiting family and this was not far away. We drive an EV and were happy to see that there were several free J-1772 L2 charging ports, although the hotel is allowing guests not driving an EV to park in the spots. We did manage to grab one and added about 40 miles of range to our car, which was a bonus. The room was fine and equipped for long stays. Breakfast was great. There are pro's and con's to being located immediately next to the Farm Show complex. If you're attending an event there, you could walk if you wanted to. However, we were awakened at 3am by trash trucks emptying numerous large dumpsters, which created a lot of noise. It so happened that there was a dog show going on and then, a seeming herd of dogs started barking and howling at dawn. Most events shouldn't be this noisy.
Apr 17, 2025 · Darrell PiattWe have stayed at the Staybridge several times? Staff are polite, friendly and helpful. Our room is big with a great layout. The hotel is centrally located next to the Farm Show Complex, the Glass House Lounge as well as the Hershey attractions and Hollywood Cascino. They also have a good breakfast buffet included on our stay!
May 21, 2025 · Patty GillThe staff were wonderful during our entire stay. The hotel is clean and spacious. Breakfast was great and I liked that it is within walking distance to the farm show.
Mar 27, 2025 · ghb81This was my first time visiting this area-- so I needed a great hotel where I can rest and wind down. This place did not disappoint. The staff was great, the room was spacious and huge, very clean, etc. The only thing I didn't like was I wish there was more variety of breakfast choices and that if the juices at times tasted like water. Other than that-- this place was perfect and accessible to where I needed to go. I will stay again here if I am ever in the area.
