Solid quiet resort a little off from the weirs beach boardwalk. Location is okay but I prefer to be able to walk to the boardwalk or funspot. They have an amazing pool and hot tub in the main office area with a great gym but the Rooms fireplace didnt work and kitchen was a little limited. But the service was incredible and everyone was friendly
For those navigating the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in the picturesque Lakes Region of New Hampshire, Summit Resort presents itself as a notable option, particularly appealing to families and groups seeking a feature-rich stay. Located at 177 Mentor Ave, Laconia, NH 03246, USA, with direct contact available via phone at (603) 366-4896 or mobile phone at +1 603-366-4896, Summit Resort offers a blend of relaxation and recreation, though with some important considerations for potential guests.
Summit Resort is situated a little off the main Weirs Beach boardwalk, offering a quieter and more serene environment compared to the bustling lakeside attractions. While one past guest noted a preference for being within walking distance of the boardwalk or Funspot, the resort's slightly elevated position (as implied by "Summit") provides a sense of seclusion and, for some units, potentially scenic views of Lake Winnipesaukee or the surrounding forested area. The address on Mentor Ave places it within reasonable proximity to many of Laconia's popular destinations, including Weirs Beach, the Winnipesaukee Playhouse, and Endicott Rock Park. While direct walking to the boardwalk might be a longer stroll, the resort's location still affords easy access by car to the vibrant lakeside activities, including boat cruises, arcades, and various shops and restaurants. The Lakes Region itself is renowned for its natural beauty, offering opportunities for hiking, water sports, skiing in winter, and enjoying the vibrant fall foliage.
Summit Resort prides itself on its comprehensive array of services and amenities, designed to cater to a diverse range of guests, especially families. A standout feature, consistently highlighted in reviews, is the impressive pool area. The resort boasts both an indoor and an outdoor pool, catering to year-round enjoyment, along with a waterslide and a children's pool. Guests have frequently praised the "amazing pool and hot tub in the main office area," often noting them as clean, well-kept, and enjoyable. Beyond swimming, the resort provides a "great gym," allowing guests to maintain their fitness routines while on vacation. Other recreational offerings include an outdoor tennis court, a sauna, a game room/arcade, a billiards/pool table, a children's playground, and even racquetball/squash facilities, indicating a strong emphasis on on-site entertainment.
For accommodation, Summit Resort primarily offers spacious suites, often featuring two bedrooms, designed to provide a comfortable "home away from home" experience. These suites typically include kitchens with full-sized refrigerators/freezers, stovetops, microwaves, coffee/tea makers, and essential cookware/dishes/utensils, allowing for self-catering. Guests can also expect amenities such as flat-screen TVs with cable channels, free in-room WiFi, air conditioning, and sofa beds. Many units also come with a balcony or patio, offering private outdoor space. For added convenience, the resort provides laundry facilities (coin-operated) and free newspapers in the lobby. The staff is generally well-regarded for being friendly and helpful, with one reviewer noting, "the service was incredible and everyone was friendly." Housekeeping services are available on a limited basis, and guests may need to manage their own trash disposal and towel replacement, as indicated by some past guest feedback.
The defining feature of Summit Resort is its suite-style accommodations with integrated kitchens, which are ideal for longer stays or for families who prefer to prepare some of their own meals. The presence of a jetted bathtub in some bathrooms adds a touch of luxury and relaxation. While some individual unit features, such as a fireplace, might not always be fully functional, as one review pointed out ("Rooms fireplace didn't work"), the overall package of in-room amenities aims for comfort and convenience. The resort's emphasis on family-friendly features, like the children's pool, playground, and various games, positions it as a strong contender for those traveling with children. Free WiFi is available throughout the resort, both in rooms and public areas, catering to connectivity needs. The resort operates with a limited-hour front desk, which is a detail guests should be aware of, especially for check-in and check-out procedures, which typically have specific start and end times (e.g., check-in from 4 PM to 10 PM, check-out at 10 AM). Despite some feedback regarding communication at check-in or seasonal closures of certain activities, the core amenities and spacious accommodations remain key attractions.
Summit Resort positions itself as a prime vacation value in the Lakes Region, particularly for families. Online reviews consistently highlight the quality of the indoor and outdoor pools, the hot tub, and the gym as major positives. Guests often laud the "amazing pool and hot tub," and the "great gym," indicating these are well-maintained and enjoyable facilities. The friendly nature of the staff also receives recurrent praise, with comments such as "everyone was friendly" and "the service was incredible." However, it's also important to consider all aspects of guest feedback. Some past guests have pointed out that while the location is "solid quiet," it might not be ideal for those who prefer to walk directly to Weirs Beach attractions. Furthermore, some reviews mention minor maintenance issues within individual units, such as rusted doors, taped-down rugs, or non-functional fireplaces, and a perception that the kitchen might be "a little limited." There have also been comments regarding the check-in process lacking comprehensive information about resort amenities and the expectation for guests to handle tasks like trash removal and towel changes themselves, which some felt was not commensurate with the price paid. Additionally, seasonal closures of certain advertised activities are a point to note for off-peak travelers. Despite these critiques, many guests find the resort to be a "great hotel for families" and express a strong desire to return, especially appreciating the spacious condos and the array of recreational activities. The Summit Resort is a solid choice for those seeking a quiet retreat with abundant on-site amenities and spacious accommodations in the Laconia area, provided they manage expectations regarding some aspects of the unit maintenance and self-service nature of certain elements of their stay.

May 15, 2025 · Dylan PlaistedI personally wouldn't stay here again, checking in the person didn't tell us anything except where the unit was, no information about the pool, how to get the balls and stuff for the volleyball court, nothing. Our room was ok at best, rusted door, no room cleaner, if you needed/ wanted clean towels you had to get them yourself or wash yours, parts of the rug were taped down, jet tub had a panel broken, you had to take your trash out. All fine things if we didn't pay as much as we did and if they told you that. The website gives things to do, most of which are closed this time of year. I just think there's much better options for the same price point so I wouldn't stay there again.
