Good news: great area and amazing reviews. Bad news: unbelievably slow internet (.9 mb/s), two bathrooms on middle floor are tiny (like you have to straddle the toilet to even shut the door small), deck nails sticking up everywhere, pool table pockets cobbled together, light bulbs out, smoke detectors open and laying on dresser, one of the outdoor viewing stations broken, hot tubs were cold when we arrived (only used one once, but even 4 days later it was never to temp), cleaning was questionable (found random shirt in movie room, ceiling fans dirty, dust all over the cabin). For this being a 'luxury' cabin (we rented from American Patriot Getaways), this was a far cry from my definition of luxury. We have stayed in this area numerous times (I could see two cabins from the deck that we have stayed in before), this is one that I WOULD NOT STAY IN AGAIN! CERTAINLY NOT WORTH THE PRICE!!!

For us Tennesseans, the allure of a Smoky Mountain cabin getaway is undeniable. **The Bear’s House** in Sevierville, with its "great area" and "spectacular view," certainly taps into that desire for a scenic escape. The presence of multiple hot tubs, a movie room, and a pool table also suggests a property geared towards entertainment and relaxation for families or groups. For locals seeking a spacious retreat that can accommodate several people and offers those quintessential mountain views, the fundamental concept of The Bear's House holds appeal.
However, it is crucial for our fellow Tennesseans to approach this particular rental with a realistic understanding of recent guest experiences. While the views are indeed a major highlight, the consistent feedback regarding **"unbelievably slow internet,"** **numerous maintenance issues** (such as deck nails, broken outdoor stations, and non-functional electronics), **questionable cleanliness upon arrival**, and even a significant incident of **no water service** during a holiday, paint a picture far removed from the "luxury" moniker it may once have held or be advertised under. The small bathroom sizes and the general need for an "overhaul and maintenance" also weigh heavily on the overall experience, especially when considering the "significant amount" paid by guests.
Therefore, while the location and the potential for a large group gathering are suitable for locals, it’s imperative to consider if the current state of the property aligns with your expectations for comfort, reliability, and value. If breathtaking views are your absolute top priority and you are prepared to potentially overlook or manage issues related to connectivity, maintenance, and cleanliness, then The Bear's House might still offer a base for your mountain adventures. However, for those seeking a truly seamless, luxurious, and well-maintained experience, especially for the price point, recent reviews suggest that a thorough re-evaluation or inquiry into recent upgrades would be highly advisable before committing to a stay at The Bear's House.

Sep 10, 2023 · Rob BlackburnI was the guest of a family member who paid a significant amount for a stay over a holiday weekend (4 days). The amount paid was not reflective of the overall experience I'm sad to say. Between multiple electronics failing, non-existent Internet service (below dial-up speeds, don't even bother), shoddy quality in multiple fixtures, the fact we had to clean some upon arrival, and to top it off, no water on a major holiday, I think we would have been better off at another location. The view was spectacular though and we did have two working hot tubs. I'm sure this place was great several years ago, but the working quality of everything from an electronics and furnishings perspective is in desperate need of an overhaul and maintenance to maintain the "Luxury" moniker, also missing some kitchen appliances one might expect in a place of this calibur. Until the many little issues are resolved, I cannot give this place a good rating I'm afraid.
Dec 26, 2018 · AnthonyIt gets a 2 star only for the view of the cabin. The view is amazing high up in the mountains. The cabin its self is terrible. Trash along the bank line. Cob webs and infested with lady bugs and stink bugs. Nothing worked in the Cabin. One hot tub was broke other one didn't heat up all the way and it was dirty. Washer and dryer didn't work movie theater was broke. Wifi was also not working so. Had a terrible smell of mold. King room jacuzzi didn't work neither did the shower all the bathrooms are small door hits the sinks. Dishwasher also didn't work lol. In reality everything was broken besides the beds some of the couches didn't want to reclins. Not worth 2k for a weekend. DONT STAY HERE
