Geneva Inn was a very formal restaurant, but no, it's, uh, very casual and the service was very good. The place was well-lit and the purses was very good. And I had the flat iron steak with French fries which they put the steak on top. Other fries, I've never seen that before. My wife had the fish fry, which was cod, and you can get that. Um, two piece or three piece and I have to tell you that unless you have a really big appetite, one and a half with it suffice, because those things are huge, huge, i didn't take photos of the of my meal but I did take some of the menu end of views around me. Those is pretty cool. The bar is very nice as well. But as a whole, our evening was good, we're all enjoyed her great conversation. Some good food, good views. So check out the photos. We didn't stay there in the hotel. We just came to eat but I have enclosed the prices of their rooms. So you can check that out.

The Geneva Inn Introduce

For residents across Wisconsin, Lake Geneva stands as a quintessential getaway destination, known for its pristine waters, scenic shoreline path, and vibrant community. While the area offers a wide range of lodging options, for those seeking a tranquil and luxurious experience right on the water, The Geneva Inn is often at the top of the list. This establishment is more than just a place to sleep; it’s an experience in itself, celebrated for its breathtaking lake views, exceptional dining, and attentive service. This article provides a comprehensive overview of The Geneva Inn, exploring its serene location, the high-quality services it offers, and why it has become a cherished spot for locals and visitors alike.

The Geneva Inn is a boutique hotel that exudes a sense of relaxed elegance. It is not a sprawling, anonymous resort, but rather a more intimate and personal retreat with just 37 guest rooms. This smaller scale allows for a level of service and attention to detail that larger hotels often can’t match. The inn's philosophy is centered on providing a peaceful and luxurious atmosphere where guests can unwind and truly escape. It is particularly well-known for its on-site restaurant, The Grandview, which has a reputation for serving delicious food in a stunning setting. The overall feeling of The Geneva Inn is one of sophistication without being overly formal, as noted by a recent diner who was surprised to find a casual and welcoming atmosphere rather than a stuffy one. This balance of luxury and comfort makes it a premier destination for anniversaries, romantic getaways, or simply a quiet retreat from the everyday hustle of Wisconsin life.

The location and accessibility of The Geneva Inn are among its most celebrated features. Situated at N2009 S Lake Shore Dr, Lake Geneva, WI 53147, USA, the hotel is perfectly positioned on the scenic shores of Geneva Lake. Its prime spot offers guests panoramic and unobstructed views of the water, a significant highlight that many rooms and the restaurant take full advantage of. While it is located a little ways from the bustling downtown area, this is often seen as a benefit, as it provides a quiet and peaceful environment away from the crowds and noise. However, it is still close enough to be a short drive or a pleasant walk along the historic 21-mile lake path to all the shops, attractions, and activities in Lake Geneva. For locals driving in from Milwaukee, Madison, or other nearby Wisconsin communities, the inn is easily accessible by car with convenient on-site parking, ensuring a stress-free arrival and stay.

Lovely hotel. We were in a lake view room and it was clean, spacious and had a gorgeous view of lake. The only thing we did not love is that the mattresses are extremely soft and we both woke up with sore backs but to be fair we are used to very firm mattresses. We ate in the restaurant and thought the prices were fair and the food quite good.

The Grandview Restaurant is no more. This five star dining experience was always a treat on our anniversary. Due to scheduling, it had been two years since our last visit. Two years ago in 2023: waiters and waitresses sharply dressed. Menu in a fine hard cover folio. Extensive entree choices included Chilean Sea Bass and Filet Mignon. Staff poured your water. Wine served elegantly. Hot bread delivered to your table. Staff salt and peppered your salad. Staff knew extensive details regarding entrees. All in all, a truly 5-star experience with a six star view of the lake. Fast forward to 2025. What it is now, Oak and Oar Restaurant: Staff in jeans. Paper menu. Entree choices were more limited and less refined. In short, a pub food+ menu. Zero fancy steaks. They did offer a flat iron steak over fries. I ordered the rainbow trout, which was tasty but, baked potato could only be described as small. Pour your own water from a carafes brought to your table. Service was good, but the atmosphere of elegant dining is gone. This is notably compensated by the gorgeous view of the Lake.

☆☆☆☆ Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price I booked The Geneva Inn as a surprise getaway for my husband and me, expecting a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, we left after just one night of our two-night reservation due to multiple issues that made our stay incredibly disappointing. First, the TV remotes didn’t work — you had to manually enter channel numbers, and the guide function was useless. One of the electrical outlets in our room was completely broken, and to make matters worse, the deadbolt on our door didn’t work at all. There was a silver plate covering where the lock should have been — a serious safety concern. The next morning, my husband went down to get the hot breakfast sandwich that’s advertised as available for guests. He was told there were none because the barista called off. He also asked for a menu for the hotel’s restaurant to help us plan our day, and the front desk said they didn’t have one. Seriously? The hallways had wallpaper peeling off the walls, and overall, the place felt poorly maintained — not what you’d expect for the price. I spoke with the General Manager, Laken, and her response to these concerns was incredibly disappointing. She excused the state of the hotel by saying it’s a “boutique hotel,” so wear and tear is to be expected, and humidity can cause wallpaper to peel. She also confirmed that the TV remote issue is known in all rooms and being “worked on” — yet no heads-up was given to guests. The only thing she offered was to allow us to check out early, which we did. For over $300 a night, I expected a much better experience — working remotes, a secure room, functioning outlets, and the amenities that were advertised. More importantly, I expected better customer service and accountability. Excusing everything by saying “this is a boutique hotel” is unacceptable when the hotel is clearly falling apart. I left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and like I wasted my money. I would not recommend staying here. We booked another hotel in the downtown area for the rest of our stay and it has been 100% better.

Having been a long time, Google reviewer I sometimes hesitate to give great reviews to places that I love because they become very popular and then sometimes I can’t get back in. But, I have to for this place. It is just too nice everything everybody says about the beautiful views the quiet area the nice rooms it’s all true. Special thanks to the staff for giving me our favorite room. 😃❤️
