We previously stayed at Church Landing and wrongfully assumed the other buildings would be of the same quality. If you value cleanliness, convenience and safety do NOT stay here. It smelled moldy, the carpet was dirty, there is no staff on site and one of the exterior doors remains open 24/7 as it has previously been broken into and no longer locks. We did not feel comfortable staying there and went to the main desk at Church Landing to ask what could be done. We were told they are severely understaffed and to come back the next day. Fortunately on day 2 the staff at Church Landing was able to get us a room in the main building, and the rest of our stay was excellent.

While The Inn at Mill Falls is praised for its excellent location and convenient access to resort amenities, recent customer feedback indicates some areas that prospective guests should be aware of. Several reviews mention concerns regarding cleanliness, with reports of mold in air conditioners and shower curtains, and dirty carpets. Some guests have also noted a moldy smell in rooms. Another significant point of feedback relates to check-in procedures, with guests sometimes having to check in at a different building (Church Landing) a half-mile away, which can be inconvenient, especially during peak times when there may be long waits for rooms to be cleaned and ready. Furthermore, there have been comments about the lack of on-site staff at The Inn at Mill Falls specifically, and concerns about safety due to exterior doors not locking properly. The age of the building, despite renovations, may contribute to some of these issues, and some guests have described rooms as "dated."
It is important for potential guests to manage expectations regarding direct on-site service at The Inn itself, as the primary check-in and some services are centralized at Church Landing. While the location provides access to a vibrant community and extensive resort facilities, guests should be prepared for potential variations in room condition and be proactive in communicating any issues to the main resort desk. Despite these challenges, the overall sentiment often highlights the prime location, the charming atmosphere of the restored mill, and the benefit of access to the wider Mill Falls at the Lake offerings, including dining and the spa. Guests are encouraged to confirm check-in details and any specific room requests when booking.

Sep 03, 2024 · Kelly McCarthyRating this hotel a 2/5 purely because of the great location it’s in, lots of cute shops & restaurants around. The Cascade spa across the street was also lovely. However, we booked this hotel because we were seeing a show at the Bank of NH Pavilion last night. Check-in is listed on the website and my confirmation email as 4pm, which is late compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at, but still a manageable time because we weren’t in a rush to watch the openers at the concert. The problems started when there were 20+ guests waiting in the lobby at 4pm for rooms that were not cleaned yet. The woman at the desk said they had over 100 parties checking in that particular day, which I can totally understand is difficult to manage, but as an organization— do not accept over 100 hotel reservations if you can not accommodate everyone. There were people there who had paid for early check in at 2pm, who were still waiting for their room to be cleaned at 4:30pm. The other issue was with our room itself. There was mold on the inside of the air conditioner, on the inside of the lamps of the room, and in between the shower curtains. I would recommend finding different accommodations if staying in the area, as the location itself is lovely but the management and cleanliness of this place is below average.
Aug 02, 2024 · Courtney FrancisI stayed here for a few days in the beginning of July. I would advise against staying here. 850$ and by far not worth it. The location is great however, it’s not on the lake it’s across the street. When I first entered my room that should have been clean from smoke, it smelt of smoke and cologne. My asthma acted up and I had to use my inhaler. The stairwell was littered with trash since the first day all the way up to my last day. It smelt like something was rotting. The second day there was broken glass in the stairwell that I accidentally stepped on, luckily I wasn’t cut and my shoes protected me. By the third day my mom and I were locked out of our room and there was no one at the front desk, had to call and wait at my door for 30-45min.
Aug 08, 2024 · Sabrina MorganNice view for sure. The check in process is a little cumbersome heading to the other location. The traffic is thick right near Inn location but folks are friendly there and polite drivers. The inn should maybe consider more front desk staff to ensure customers can ask questions and expedite the check in process. The room view was awesome. The inn is older but quiet. I would say the Inn by lake needs some hvac filtration to help keep the room dryer and moisture free. For the price I would expect fresh towels and beds made daily. That did not happen. You have to ask for it by calling as there are no staff posted at the lake place. All in all very nice, pleasant place to visit. Would go again.
Aug 21, 2024 · JG SullMake sure if you are booking here that you know what building your staying in. If your at the main building right on the lake, fine, but you'll pay out the nose! If they're try to put you in the Chase House or even Mill Falls it is old, outdated, smelly, loud and not worth the money. You'll have some lake view but the main highway is right in front of you with big trucks, hot rods, etc... Go down to Weir Beach and rent the Lakeview Inn and cottages. Get a cottage for the same price and the owner will spoil you! Great views and quiet and homey. We underestimated it and booked because we couldn't find anything else reasonable and turned out to be a highlight of our two week honeymoon trip. Also, take the Mt Washington boat, two hour boat ride on a refurbished steamer. On a nice day, amazing! $46.00 per Adult and well worth it.
