For those exploring "Hotels Near Of Me" in Woodridge, NY, this property aims to offer a local solution for overnight stays or event hosting. However, an objective introduction requires balancing its offerings with real-world guest experiences to provide a comprehensive picture.
The Lakehouse Hotel is situated in Woodridge, NY, a village nestled within the Catskill Mountains, specifically in Sullivan County. This region is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, including rolling hills, forests, and numerous lakes and rivers, making it a popular destination for outdoor activities and tranquil getaways. The address, "114 Lake House Rd," strongly suggests that the hotel is located near a lake, which would be a significant environmental draw, offering potential for water-based recreation, scenic views, or simply a peaceful atmosphere.
Woodridge itself is part of a larger area known for its natural beauty and a relaxed pace of life. Guests staying at The Lakehouse Hotel would likely have access to the natural amenities of the Catskills, such as hiking trails, fishing spots, and opportunities for enjoying the serene environment. While specific details about the hotel's immediate grounds and lake access are not extensively detailed in general public information, a "Lakehouse" designation typically implies direct or very close proximity to a body of water, contributing to a tranquil and visually appealing setting. This environmental context makes it appealing for those seeking a quiet escape or a base for exploring the wider Catskills region.
The Lakehouse Hotel primarily offers accommodation services, as implied by its name, and also functions as an event venue, notably catering to wedding room blocks and related events like post-wedding brunches. Based on customer reviews and general hotel operations, guests can expect standard hotel room amenities. While specific room features are not detailed, generally these would include private bathrooms, beds, basic furnishings, and potentially in-room entertainment options. The hotel aims to provide a space for guests to stay comfortably while attending local events or exploring the area.
For events, The Lakehouse Hotel offers dedicated spaces, as indicated by the mention of the "Fairway Room" for a post-wedding brunch. This suggests they can host gatherings, offering facilities for dining and socializing. The availability of room blocks is a key service for destination weddings or large group events, allowing guests to book multiple rooms at a potentially discounted rate. The hotel also appears to have staff dedicated to coordinating such bookings and events, as evidenced by the mention of "Vonnie" and "Lia" in a customer review. Phone numbers, (845) 738-1200 and +1 845-738-1200, are provided for direct contact, suggesting a traditional hotel inquiry and booking process.
However, it is crucial to address the specific customer feedback regarding services and features, as it highlights significant areas of concern. One recent review from a customer who booked a wedding room block provides detailed insights:
While another review from a former visitor expresses fond childhood memories from the 2010s, indicating a historical positive perception, the more recent and detailed feedback points to current operational and service challenges. Therefore, while The Lakehouse Hotel offers fundamental accommodations and event hosting capabilities, prospective guests should be aware of these reported service and communication issues.
For local users Browse "Hotels Near Of Me" and considering The Lakehouse Hotel, it's important to weigh the promotional aspects with the reported realities. The hotel would likely promote itself as a convenient option for those seeking a stay in the Catskills, perhaps highlighting its proximity to a lake and its capacity for events. Promotional materials might showcase appealing imagery of its rooms and event spaces, and its pricing might initially appear attractive for group bookings.
However, based on the recent customer feedback, any promotional information should be considered alongside the potential for issues related to room block pricing transparency, staff responsiveness, and event logistics. While the hotel can clearly accommodate groups and events, the described difficulties with billing and communication are significant. For guests prioritizing seamless service and clear communication, particularly for important events like weddings, exercising caution and thorough pre-booking inquiries are essential. It would be advisable to explicitly confirm all pricing structures for room blocks, request detailed logistical information for event spaces, and perhaps seek recent, diverse reviews beyond what might be available on the hotel's direct channels.
The Lakehouse Hotel may appeal to individuals or groups looking for a basic accommodation option in the Woodridge area, especially if they are already familiar with its historical context or are seeking a budget-conscious choice for a large group. However, for those with high expectations regarding service quality, transparent pricing, and efficient event coordination, further investigation and direct clarification with the hotel management are strongly recommended before committing to a booking. The cautionary "DO NOT RECOMMEND IT" from a recent wedding party organizer is a powerful indicator for future guests.

Jan 30, 2025 · Oliver ContrerasI had my wedding recently at a nearby wedding venue. We chose The Lakehouse Resort to do our room block since it was decently priced and their photos looked nice on their website. Our wedding was a destination wedding so I was not able to view the site until after securing the room block since they kept emailing me about locking in the “room block price.” When I was finally able to visit and see it, I wasn't that impressed. It's giving inn or motel with a paint job vibes but I thought they gave us a decent room block price. However, this was BEFORE I realized that they gave us an "average" per night price. If my guests tried to book without our room block, the price per night was less. So it was really confusing and bizarre. Vonnie who I was working with initially was helpful and nice with giving me the information I needed. But if I could go back, I just wouldn't have done a room block at all. Fast forward to when my guests arrived & trying to coordinate a post-wedding brunch event. After working with Vonnie, she passed me on to Lia who was going to help me with my room block/event moving forward. At the end of their stay, a handful of our guests were double charged. I reached out to Lia and she basically blew me off... didn't apologize and just referred me to the reservations team. I emailed her back saying I was disappointed but an apology would have been nice. She just said she understood and again referred me to reservations and didn't apologize AGAIN! I gathered from her email tone that she didn't think there was an issue or it wasn't her problem. Great team work...... As far as the post-wedding brunch, my only issue was that no one communicated to me that the 'Fairway Room' where my event was meant that my guests needed to walk half a mile and/or that it had its own parking lot! Instead, all of my guests stopped at their lobby and had to be routed to the actual location. This would have been nice to know so that I could have told all my guests how to get there! Anyway, I would NOT recommend this hotel. EDIT: reread this and realized I made the mistake of writing the typo that I would recommend this hotel but I meant I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.
