Jun 15, 2025 · Michael ReganThis is a beautiful location. The property dates back to the early 1800’s. The beer garden across the street had local beers & ciders on tap. The folksy hillbilly duo playing guitar & keyboard was enjoyable. The downside: the room we had did not have AC. The Mini Split looked like it hadn’t worked in many moons. The windows didn’t open either. The breakfast was Costco muffins. Finally, the towels provided were so thin they were nearly transparent.
Jun 15, 2025 · Sean MillsExcellent experience! We stayed at the Mary Mast cabin. It was spacious and well appointed. We made a few meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. We also really enjoyed the rocking chairs on the deck with a glass of wine in the evening. It was just lovely! Thank you Mast Farm Inn!
May 09, 2025 · Teresa BlakeMy husband and I wondered if there was new ownership since we visited last? We enjoyed our stay in March 2023 because it was so warm & cozy, which is what we hoped to experience this winter, but unfortunately that was not the case. We wanted to return to MFI specifically for the in room fireplace and overall warm feel of the inn. When we arrived, we were not greeted by anyone, but followed directions to our room. This made it feel less of a Bed & Breakfast experience but more of an Airbnb. We planned to enjoy our fireplace for some time before we headed out for the evening, but it was not working, neither was our neighbor's across the hall. Next, we tried the bar downstairs, but just like our room, not a working fireplace, so it was miserably cold and unenjoyable. Besides the bartender we saw other no staff, not then, not when we came back after dinner, and not in the morning either. The house was cold, there were no hosts, and it just didn't feel like the "home away from home" we felt last time. Another con was breakfast is not included and they were not willing to offer any meat free alternatives even when asked prior to stay. After we checked out we were asked about our experience via text to which we responded with a message similar to the above, only for it to fall on deaf ears.
Apr 02, 2025 · MikortreatWe were doing college admissions tour at nearby Appalachian State. This property was easily accessible to campus and situated by a peaceful community and the clear, gentle Wautaga river. We stayed at Raspberry Hill cabin. Upon arrival we realized we forgot some key food items and the staff at the Inn provided fresh local eggs and butter for us. They were consistently immediately responsive via text messaging and after we departed mailed us our pillow we left behind! Service is great. Tip: They generously provide firewood for reservations that have a fire pit however bring a few smaller starter logs to make it easier to start the larger logs they provide. This is a great place to stay and wonderful Original Mast Farm General Store right down the road. We will stay again and again.
