Tristar Hotel Group manages a few hotels in Bloomington, Indiana. We have stayed in the Comfort Inn there a number of times while visiting our son who attends school at IU. We paid one year in advance for 2 hotel rooms for 2 nights for graduation weekend. The normal price of a room is under $90 but we paid $389 per room and night. We were required to pay by check. When Covid struck and everything was cancelled, we were assured vis email that our money would be returned. Tristar Hotel Group applied and received a government loan. They said in writing that the loan money would be used to make refunds. After months of leading us on, they are now breaking their promise and have given us “credit” to be used at a future date. My son is finished at IU. We won’t be going back. In essence they have given us nothing. Tristar Hotel group is comprised of greedy men and women who lack integrity. If you care about your hotel, your customers, and your reputation please do not hire this management firm. Corporate America can and should be better than this! During my long term stay, Tristar was very responsive and their representative I have contacted when I needed was prompt and personable. I prefer properties that I can establish a nice communication channel for my longer stays and Tristar delivered with their service at Pima Inn & Suites.
Aug 03, 2020 · Sam YuksekTristar Hotel Group (Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Inn)in Bloomington Indiana required Indiana University parents who wanted to book for 2020 graduation weekend to book one year in advance and to pay with check or cashier’s check. I was shocked I wasn’t able to use my IHG credit card for my reservation at the Holiday Inn Express. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic graduation was cancelled. Parents were told that once these hotels received their PPE loans from the government stimulus they would issue refunds. Tristar has offered credit vouchers that can ONLY be used in Bloomington rather than refunds. Many of these families no longer have a reason to go to Bloomington since their kids have graduated. Further, these hotels charged their highest rates of the year because of graduation weekend. I personally have a credit of $3017 for 3 rooms for the required 2 night minimum at the Holiday Inn Express. The Marriott brand, the Hyatt brand, the Hilton brand, the Graduate, The Biddle and the Candlewood Suites (IHG) all in Bloomington gave full refunds for their non refundable reservations! The Holiday Inn Express - Martinsville, The Holiday Inn Express - Bedford also gave full refunds. Tristar refuses to give refunds to ALL the families. They made an exception and gave a full refund to one individual!

Not sure how you run a business where nobody answers the phones, returns calls or answers emails?? Also don’t give them any money. Wouldn’t take credit card for hotel reservation for a graduation , had to send a check . Now with no graduation due to COVID they won’t give us a refund.

The level of customer service is excellent and combined with over 200 years experience in hte Hotel industry is an absolute positive to any Hotel owner or partners. We would highly reccomend TriStar as a top noche Hotel Management Company.
