Just before I that just return from dollar tree spent $38 in cleaning supplies, (broom,2 mop, Clorox, rags, detergent ). clean sweep mop disinfect room so I could sleep on it in. My rooms was cleans Used it to sleep only no one was allowed in removed my shoes at door so I would not drag hair and dirt in. Elevator and hall very dirty and smelling like wet dog and weed. Managed to stay there 7 days until I found one that had rooms available for the days that I needed, very hard days but it was okay I had cleans dusted, sweep, and mopped floors. When checked out notice that I was overcharged, try to get management and front desk to fix it and they kept making me seem like I was dumb that the charges were correct even after corporate and customer service sent out email saying they needed to correct the error and refund me. Carrie in front desk , was very rude and disrespectful when I called and asked her to check the invoice. She screamed to me to stop calling that it was correct. That if I had complained to not call them any more, she hanged up the call after me calling her multiple times and begging her to please not hang up and listen to me that I just wanted to get this done and fixed she kept screaming and hanging up with the phone wouldn’t let me talk. Since I wasn’t able to get through, I had to file a fraud report with my credit card company for the month that I was overcharged. After some time Carrie in front desk calls me back and states that she went over and found the error and I was gonna get refunded for the overcharge. Unfortunately this was a very bad experience in this hotel never had I run I. To this type of service, very disappointing.
When you're in North Carolina and find yourself in need of accommodations for more than just a night or two, an extended stay hotel can offer a different kind of lodging experience. These properties are designed to provide a more home-like environment, especially for those on longer trips, temporary work assignments, or while relocating. In Shelby, North Carolina, one such option is the WoodSpring Suites Charlotte Shelby. Unlike traditional hotels focused on short-term stays, extended stay hotels often feature in-room kitchenettes and other amenities aimed at making a prolonged visit more comfortable and cost-effective.
Extended stay hotels generally cater to guests who plan to stay for a week, a month, or even longer. This model emphasizes self-sufficiency, with rooms typically equipped to allow guests to prepare their own meals, reducing the need for constant dining out. While they can be a practical solution for various long-term needs, it’s crucial to understand what each specific property offers, as experiences can vary widely. Our aim here is to provide a factual overview of WoodSpring Suites Charlotte Shelby, drawing on public information and guest feedback, to help you make an informed decision for your North Carolina lodging needs.
WoodSpring Suites Charlotte Shelby is located at 1010 Sue Ln, Shelby, NC 28152, USA. Shelby is a city in Cleveland County, North Carolina, known for its small-town charm and proximity to larger cities like Charlotte and Gastonia, as well as natural attractions like Crowders Mountain State Park. The hotel's position on Sue Lane offers local accessibility within the Shelby area. Being situated south-east of downtown Shelby, it provides access to local businesses, shopping centers, and dining establishments, though some may require a short drive.
The hotel is conveniently located off U.S. Route 74, a major highway that connects Shelby to other towns and cities, making it accessible for those traveling by car. This direct access to Route 74 means relatively easy commutes to nearby areas for work or leisure. For instance, Atrium Health Cleveland is approximately 3 miles away, and Cleveland Community College is about 2 miles from the property, which could be beneficial for visitors associated with these institutions. While the immediate vicinity might offer some amenities, a car would likely be necessary to fully explore Shelby and its surrounding regions, including popular landmarks like the Don Gibson Theater or the Earl Scruggs Center.
WoodSpring Suites Charlotte Shelby, as an extended stay property, focuses on providing essential services that support longer visits. Based on common offerings for this brand and available information, guests can typically expect:
WoodSpring Suites Charlotte Shelby aims to offer a practical and independent lodging experience with several key features, though it's important to also consider direct guest feedback when evaluating these:
However, it is crucial to acknowledge significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews, which describe a different reality than the intended features. Guests have reported "very dirty" rooms, including "pee stains on toilet and hair in shower," "dog hair all over the floor," and "dirt/mud" under mattress covers. Hallways and elevators are described as "very dirty" and smelling of "wet dog and weed." Noise levels from neighbors and common areas are repeatedly highlighted as "entirely too loud," impacting the ability to get rest. Issues with customer service, including rudeness and overcharging, have also been reported. These detailed negative experiences suggest that the actual condition and atmosphere of the hotel may not align with typical expectations for comfort, cleanliness, and service, and prospective guests should consider these serious concerns when making their decision.
WoodSpring Suites, as a brand, focuses on offering competitive rates for longer stays. While specific, short-term promotions can vary, their core value proposition lies in the discounted rates available for weekly and monthly bookings compared to standard nightly rates. This makes them a more economical choice for extended visits. To find out about any current promotions or the best available rates for your specific duration of stay, it is always recommended to:
Given the nature of extended stay properties, the most significant "promotion" is typically the inherent cost savings associated with booking for longer periods, which can be substantial when compared to daily hotel rates.

As noted in customer reviews, the front desk operates with limited hours. If you plan to arrive outside of these hours (e.g., after 8 PM on weekdays), it is advisable to contact the hotel in advance to understand their after-hours check-in procedures, as they do not offer after-hours check-in and guests may need to call a specific extension from the lobby phone for assistance.
For residents of North Carolina, particularly those in or near Shelby, an extended stay option like WoodSpring Suites Charlotte Shelby could theoretically fit certain niche, temporary housing needs. Locals might consider such a place in scenarios where their own homes are temporarily unavailable – perhaps due to extensive renovations, unexpected emergencies like a fire or flood, or a transitional period between leases. In these situations, having a space with a kitchen can be incredibly beneficial, allowing for self-sufficiency and helping maintain a routine that's closer to home life, rather than constantly eating out, which saves both money and time. The pet-friendly policy, while coming with fees, also offers a vital solution for local pet owners who might otherwise struggle to find temporary lodging that accommodates their beloved animals during a period of displacement.
The affordable weekly and monthly rates that extended stay hotels offer are a key draw for locals facing long-term temporary housing needs, as these rates are generally more economical than booking standard hotel rooms for extended periods. The presence of on-site laundry facilities further supports a more normal living situation, which is crucial when living out of a suitcase for weeks on end. However, it is absolutely paramount for any local considering WoodSpring Suites Charlotte Shelby to thoroughly review and heed the detailed and serious concerns raised in recent customer feedback. The consistent reports of uncleanliness, strong odors (including wet dog and weed), excessive noise from other guests, and alleged issues with billing and front desk service are significant deterrents. While the concept of an extended stay hotel is designed for convenience, these documented experiences suggest a potentially uncomfortable and stressful environment. For a local, the desire for an affordable, temporary solution must be weighed against these critical reports regarding the actual living conditions and guest experience. It is highly advisable to seek out recent, specific local reviews beyond just online aggregates and to potentially visit the property in person if feasible, before committing to a stay, to ensure it meets personal standards for safety, cleanliness, and peace of mind.

Feb 21, 2025 · Kelly Importa‼️STAY AWAY‼️ The rooms look nice on the internet but in actuality they are disgusting. First of all when I showed up there was a presence of a police force outside in the parking lot. I checked in and and started to head to the elevator and immediately knew that it was probably going to be rundown, The hallway is absolutely filthy. They still allow smoking here so even if you don't have a smoking room your non-smoking room and the hallway still smell like smoke and weed The hallway noise is very very very loud. You can hear your neighbors very very clearly. And if you have anybody above you it sounds like a herd of elephants are having a party up there. The noise probably didn't stop till around 4:00 a.m. I had to be up at 6 for training. I booked here because I have my dog with me and not very many hotels around this area allow dogs And they had a cheap dog nightly rate. Normally I stay down the road at the comfort inn when I don't have her. Needless to say I'm supposed to check out tomorrow but I'm checking out today and I'm going to drive down the road and just pay the extra money to have my dog at a different hotel. You can't get rest here. The noise level is entirely too loud. The refrigerator in this room is loud The toilet never stops running people upstairs constantly are walking like they have bricks on their feet The kids next door are screaming. Go to a different hotel if I were you especially if you need rest. Because you will not get it here. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of locals living here. And if you have an animal no one picks up the poop so don't be surprised if you don't step in a big pile of poop out there.
Feb 17, 2025 · Laura PraterAbsolutely NOT worth $100.00 a night we checked in today and out today in a matter of hours. I was not enthusiastic with the fact my husband didn't realize how bad this place was due to the fact he was misled by a booking site. The beds are tiny, the pillows are flat as can be, you'd be better off using the thin blanket as a pillow folded over multiple times. Photos provided are from the room we had intended on staying one night in and I couldn't handle it due to the uncleanliness and the loud people.
Jan 25, 2025 · Katie Arndt‼️DO NOT BOOK HERE‼️ They tend to show you all the good pictures on the website but once you get in there it looks & smells horrible!!!!! NOBODY IS AT THE DESK 24/7 LIKE ANY OTHER HOTEL, so you have no one to call if you have an issue! We literally stayed in there less than 6 hours , it was so filthy we couldn’t sleep in there! THE TUB IS SUPER NASTY, ITS INFESTED WITH ROACHES , & NO ONE WAS THERE THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM!!! $100 a night is very much OVERPRICED !!! Looks fancy on the outside & then ONCE YOU GO IN THE ROOM LOOKS LIKE SECTION 8 & SMELLS HORRIBLE ‼️‼️‼️ ‼️DO NOT BOOK‼️ SAVE YOUR MONEY & FIND SOMETHING BETTER‼️
