One of the worst experiences of my life. Receptionist was unwelcoming, EXTREMELY rude and insulting. Yelled at me and told me not to ask her stupid questions. The facility is poorly maintained. Intercom doesn't work and bedding could be better. The fire alarm went off unprovoked and when I tried to inquire about it, the receptionist told me I wasn't allowed to ask her stupid questions. I won't stay here again for free! I checked in at 6pm and checked out before 10pm because the harassment of the receptionist made me feel very unsafe. Horrible experience.
Hello, fellow Arizonans! Sometimes, when you're facing a relocation, a long-term work project, or just need a comfortable, self-sufficient base for an extended period, a traditional hotel simply doesn't cut it. That's where extended stay hotels, like the WoodSpring Suites Mesa Chandler, come into play. These properties are designed to offer more than just a bed for the night; they aim to provide a home-like environment for stays of a week, a month, or even longer. While WoodSpring Suites focuses on affordability and practicality, it's important to set clear expectations. Let’s take a candid look at what this Mesa establishment offers and whether it might be the right fit for your extended stay needs.
WoodSpring Suites Mesa Chandler is an extended stay hotel that positions itself as a budget-friendly option for travelers seeking longer-term accommodations. The brand's philosophy centers on providing essential comforts at an affordable price, with a particular emphasis on suites equipped with in-room kitchens. This setup is ideal for guests who prefer to cook their own meals, thereby saving on dining expenses, a significant factor for extended stays. It aims to be a practical choice for business travelers, medical professionals, military personnel, students, and tourists who plan to stay for an extended period in the East Valley. It's a no-frills approach, meaning you get the core necessities, but perhaps not the extensive luxury amenities of a full-service hotel. Guest experiences can vary, with some highlighting excellent service from individual staff members, while others have reported significant issues, particularly concerning front desk interactions and room cleanliness.
The WoodSpring Suites Mesa Chandler is located at 404 E Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ 85204, USA. This position along Baseline Road provides good accessibility to various parts of Mesa and the surrounding cities of Chandler and Tempe.
Baseline Road is a major east-west artery, offering straightforward connections to the wider Phoenix Metropolitan Area. The hotel is conveniently situated to allow easy access to the US-60 Superstition Freeway and Loop 101, facilitating commutes to business districts, local attractions, and universities like Arizona State University (ASU). For leisure, attractions such as Golfland Sunsplash, the Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum, and Pioneer Park are typically within a 10-minute drive. Larger attractions like the Arizona Science Center, Desert Botanical Garden, and the Phoenix Zoo are accessible within 25 minutes. Additionally, the presence of several grocery and convenience stores nearby, including Safeway, Sprouts Farmers Market, Food City, Fry's Food And Drug, and Trader Joe's, makes it easy for guests to stock their in-room kitchens. While public transportation options might be less direct right at its doorstep compared to areas on the Light Rail, its location along a major road makes it manageable for those with personal vehicles.
WoodSpring Suites focuses on providing key services that support a self-sufficient, extended stay.
The core features of WoodSpring Suites Mesa Chandler are designed with the extended-stay traveler in mind.
However, it's crucial to acknowledge that guest experiences can be highly polarized. Some reviews praise the helpfulness of specific staff members and the functionality of the rooms for the price. Conversely, very negative reviews mention "unwelcoming," "extremely rude and insulting" receptionists, poor maintenance, and a lack of basic amenities like an iron, ironing board, coffee pot, or toiletries in the room beyond watered-down shampoo. Some describe the rooms as "not nasty but not clean either," and a complete absence of items typically found in even budget motels, such as a Bible. These inconsistencies suggest that while the core offerings are there, the execution and overall guest experience can vary significantly, heavily influencing perception of value.
WoodSpring Suites emphasizes its inherent value proposition through its pricing model, which is designed for extended stays.
WoodSpring Suites generally doesn't offer the same type of seasonal or loyalty program promotions as full-service hotels, as their model is built around consistent, low extended-stay rates. For the most accurate and up-to-date pricing for your specific extended stay duration, it's always best to check their official website or call the hotel directly.
For inquiries about availability, rates, or any other questions regarding an extended stay at WoodSpring Suites Mesa Chandler, you can use the following contact details:
It is always advisable to contact the hotel directly for the most current information, especially concerning check-in times and specific policies, given the nature of extended stay properties and the varying guest experiences noted in reviews.
For us Arizonans, WoodSpring Suites Mesa Chandler presents itself as an option primarily for those in specific, pressing situations requiring an extended, highly budget-conscious stay. If your truck broke down in town and you need an immediate, inexpensive solution, or you're managing a temporary work assignment or relocation and prioritize an in-room kitchen above all else, then this hotel might fit the bill. The value proposition of having full kitchen amenities for self-catering, coupled with weekly and monthly rates that are significantly lower than traditional hotels, is undeniable for a long-term budget. The pet-friendly policy is also a huge plus for those traveling with their dogs.
However, it's crucial to approach this with tempered expectations, as echoed by candid customer reviews. While some guests have positive interactions with staff, others report highly negative experiences, including rudeness and feeling unsafe. Descriptions of rooms lacking basic amenities like irons, coffee pots, or even toiletries, and cleanliness concerns, suggest that guests should be prepared for a very bare-bones experience. It is a place where you "don't wear white socks" and "make sure to shake the sheets off." Therefore, if your primary goal is the absolute lowest possible cost for an extended stay with kitchen access, and you are prepared for potential inconsistencies in service and amenities, then WoodSpring Suites Mesa Chandler could be a functional choice. However, for those who value consistent cleanliness, comprehensive amenities, and reliable, friendly service, it might be worth exploring other extended stay options, even if they come at a slightly higher price point. This hotel is for the highly practical, resilient traveler who truly needs the absolute minimum at the absolute lowest cost.

May 23, 2025 · Nelly ILady working desk at check in was awsome and friendly. Room wasn't nasty but not clean either. Don't wear white socks and make sure to shake the sheets off. Nothing in room, no iron or ironing board. No coffee pot. No toiletries. Only shampoo that appeared to be watered down.. when people say there is nothing but a bed and blanket they mean it. Like I've never been to a hotel/motel before that didn't even have the Bible in the dresser. My biggest let down tho was no free breakfast. By how cheap this place is tho i can see them making you buy a breakfast voucher tho. With that being said im not sure if id trust the food. Thank goodness for the Black Rock coffee bar for breakfast next to this place Truck broke down here in town so was my only option I would only stay here again if in the same situation.
Apr 04, 2025 · Brandon LawsonIf you see a review from me off Expedia please disregard that was meant for in town suites- and in process of having it removed- as far as wood springs suites this is my 2nd time staying here. The place is clean, parking isn’t an issue, service knocks on the mornings and they have no problem with your packages arriving. No complaints

Feb 26, 2025 · SimonWhat a let down. Do not expect a thing from this place, no Continental breakfast, no conditioner, lotion, pool, Jacuzzi, or a receptionist at front desk 11pm til 7 am! And make note there's nothing in the suite/kitchenette if you planned on preparing something. No ice either. No extra towels, pillows for free. They cost extra! And for a fairly new hotel it's pretty run down. Don't waste your time or money here. The coffee and bar of soap and the tiny bottle of shampoo is not worth it .
