Horrible place! Do not stay at this place if you value your time, comfort and money. I booked and paid for a room for two nights in December last year. I was given the room closest to the freeway with excruciating, constant noise of the freeway. I was not able to even sleep one minute. It was hell. Next morning I complained about the room and noise to no avail. I booked another room in a different hotel and when I asked the manager Candice for the refund they have refused it to this day. I wish I could give them negative star. Horrible horrible place.
Hello, fellow Arizonans! When you're planning a trip to Phoenix, whether it's for a quick business visit, a family getaway to local attractions, or simply passing through our beautiful state, finding the right accommodation is key. Today, we're focusing on the Baymont by Wyndham Phoenix North, located at 10210 N 26th Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85021. This hotel is part of the well-known Wyndham family of brands, offering a straightforward and generally budget-friendly option for travelers.
Baymont hotels typically aim to provide essential amenities and a comfortable stay without unnecessary frills, focusing on value for guests. At the Phoenix North location, you can expect features like complimentary breakfast and free Wi-Fi, which are often highly valued by travelers looking to save on incidental costs. Rooms are generally equipped with conveniences such as refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee makers, allowing for some self-sufficiency during your stay. They also offer blackout drapes, which can be a blessing in the bright Arizona sun.
However, it's crucial for any potential guest, especially locals familiar with the area, to be aware that the hotel's proximity to the freeway can lead to significant noise, as highlighted by multiple past guest reviews. While some guests have noted clean rooms and helpful service from the staff, the noise factor and occasional issues like missing basic amenities (e.g., toilet tissue) have been concerns for others. When considering Baymont by Wyndham Phoenix North, it's important to weigh these aspects against your personal comfort needs and expectations for a stay that offers practical amenities and convenient access, while being mindful of its specific location attributes.
The Baymont by Wyndham Phoenix North is situated at 10210 N 26th Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85021, USA. Its location in North Phoenix offers a blend of accessibility and proximity to various local attractions, making it a functional choice for Arizonans traveling in the area.
A key aspect of its accessibility is its direct proximity to Interstate 17 (I-17), also known as the Black Canyon Highway. This major freeway provides straightforward north-south access through Phoenix, making it relatively easy to navigate to and from the hotel, whether you're heading downtown, to other parts of North Phoenix, or further north towards popular destinations like Anthem or the high country. For locals familiar with Phoenix's expansive road network, the I-17 access is a significant advantage for getting around efficiently.
While being close to the freeway offers convenience for vehicular travel, it also means that rooms, particularly those facing the highway, can experience constant noise, a detail frequently mentioned in guest reviews. This is an important consideration for light sleepers.
Despite the noise potential, the location places guests within a reasonable driving distance of several points of interest. Family fun can be found nearby at Castles N' Coasters amusement park. Shopping opportunities are available at nearby retail centers like the former Metrocenter Mall area (currently undergoing redevelopment). For those visiting students, Grand Canyon University is also within a relatively short drive. Additionally, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) is approximately 12 miles away, making the drive to and from the airport manageable. The hotel offers free self-parking, which is a valuable amenity for those traveling with their own vehicles.

Its primary appeal to locals lies in its value proposition: a generally affordable rate that includes essential amenities like free continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and on-site parking. These inclusions can significantly reduce the overall cost of a trip, which is always a plus, whether you're traveling for business or pleasure.
The hotel's location directly off I-17 is a double-edged sword. While it means extremely easy access to major transportation routes for navigating across the Valley, it also implies proximity to freeway noise. For light sleepers or those sensitive to ambient sound, this is a crucial factor to consider. However, for many Arizonans who are accustomed to urban noise or simply need a practical base for quick commutes, this location can be very efficient for reaching destinations like Grand Canyon University, nearby business parks, or family attractions in North Phoenix.

Apr 27, 2025 · Hossein TorabzadehVery loud throughout the night because location is right next to freeway. Location was decent, only 17 minutes to my meeting site. Service was kind and helpful. I didn't have toilet tissue in the bathroom. Rooms were clean.

May 02, 2025 · Burnett KidsUPDATE….You are in fact mistaken. No one offered to cancel my stay or I would have happily since I booked a non refundable rate. Also your employee did not tell me you were charging my card and clearly said it was an authorization. I confirmed with her twice. She also did not inform me that she was in fact making a copy of my credit card I had to ask her when I noticed she placed it in the copy machine AFTER she had checked in. And your attitude clearly shows the type of establishment you are and you do not care about guests. I will be pursuing legal action as I believe your employees committed fraud with my credit card. Also all of your 1 star reviews clearly indicate your hotel is a problem and run poorly. The general manager has the worst attitude and should not be in charge of anything. They also will make a copy of your drivers license and credit card. Hello fraud…..They Charge you instead of authorizing for a deposit. Lastly, this place is a dump and if you want to hear a freeway all night long and get no sleep then stay here. Standing water in the shower, stains on the carpet and toilet. You are better off sleeping in your car.
Jan 28, 2025 · Aaronhyde12I had concerns coming into this hotel because the I-17 can be a very skeezy area with homelessness and looking dirty. Coming off the freeway, I had to drive a couple blocks to get to the hotel and the route and hotel parking lot are clean and well lit. Reading previous reviews I was also concerned as to what I was going to walk into; I was very pleased with what I saw. The lobby area is very cute with a sitting area and refreshment station available 24/7. My room was clean, didn't smell, good A/C system, the bed was beyond comfortable, and I'm pretty sure the pillows are made out of clouds. I haven't slept as well as I did in a long time and I wanted to sneak this bedset out in my suitcase because it was so comfortable. lol! The fridge is too good, you may want to check the setting because max cold will freeze items on the main shelf. There's a coffee maker and microwave (both I did not use). The shower has Dove products and the softest water. Your hair and skin will thank you for showering here, but be careful, their hot water is hot and their cold is cold. I'm pretty sure it could boil ramen the water is so hot, but also make cube chunk ice because the cold is that cold. It was a fantastic plumbing system and I miss it. The door is kind of inconvenient in the restroom, so you may need to close it for everything you do in there. Breakfast was good (6AM - 9AM). An easy pick up of fruits, cereal, yogurt, bagels/bread, danishes and muffins (change daily), juice, waffle iron (normal large or 4 mini), and eggs with (changes daily). One day I had cheese omelet and bacon, scrambled eggs and potatoes, and scrambled eggs and sausage. There's an indoor pool (I didn't use). Staff was really nice, I think I was greeted by all members (I think four different people) when I came in. I know a hotel standard is that doors need to self-shut, but I was unfortunate to be there on a convention weekend, so at 5am, there were multiple doors slamming shut, so that's something to consider if you're a light sleeper. Location is convenient to get around the Phoenix area. Location and staff made my stay very easy.
