Beach Fantasy Boutique Hotel

This review is for the store attached to this, which I would assume is run by the same people (it’s in the photos). I can’t speak to the hotel. One owner said they did not have changing rooms available, but that if the product did not fit, I could return it. The tag on one bathing suit said $29.99 and the sign on the wall said "everything 50% off except Heineken and Lifeguard suits." I got the $29.99 (non-lifeguard) suit and the $49.99 (lifeguard) suit and was told the price was $106.60, which should have tipped me off, but i was told i could return them if they didn't fit. Came back an hour later to return the bathing suits that did not fit and they were closed at 2:30 PM. Came back the next day to return them and was told I could exchange them, and that there were no refunds issued. I could not find much but didn't want to waste so much money, so i managed to pull together a full suit, a single bottom missing a top and a cheap jacket with the label sewn upside down. The man told me my original charge had "been a deal" on the two falling-apart sweatshop suits from China and that i now owed him $35. i ended up being so confused and exasperated with how he was trying to gaslight me about the price that i walked out with nothing and they got half my paycheck that i was trying to use to have a nice time with my mom- i only see her once a year. i guess i just feel dumb that i got scammed so badly, and i hope i can save other people from the same. The clothing is cheap, the sellers intentionally confuse you and then your measly wages are gone but hey, that's my fault for falling for it i guess. be safe out there Edit: I have just read the rest of the reviews about the store and wish I had before going in, they’re all on point 😂 this place literally steals money from people, they’re not even hiding it. If you leave a review about the hotel they either yell at you or tell you they have no record of you, and if you leave a review about the thievery they just don’t respond because they know it’s true. Why has no one looked into this place yet?

The lowest rated reviews are true and I wish I would have found them prior to staying. $30 to park per car per night which they only tell you when you arrive. No hand towels in kitchen or bathroom. Sheets are disgusting and fitted sheet comes off of mattress exposing discolored mattress. No mattress cover. Shower towels are disgusting and thin. No a/c in main living spaces. Screen door was broken and if left open flys would fly in so, no way to get fresh air in. We booked through air bnb and the host obviously did not like my review as he left negative untrue comments about our stay and got very defensive. We stacked all the garbage in the corner of the kitchen in garbage bags and he said we were messy and he should have charged us lol. There were not instructions on what to do with the garbage. There were only 2 bins outside below the stairs and both were full. Avoid at all costs. There are reviews on here from 2 years ago and we experienced the same thing so, obviously they don’t care at all about improving this place. Just want to collect their money on the bare minimum offered to you at this place. Host also complained that we didn’t bring any of this to their attention when we were there. Just wasn’t worth it, what were you going to do? Go out and buy everything we requested? He obviously doesn’t care because if he did.. he would listen to the countless complaints and requests from people that stayed here previously. Literally the only good thing about this place is that it is close to the beach and places to eat. Editing to say that NO I am not just mad about the parking payment. Yes, that was annoying but the rest of what I provided in my reviews was TRUE. Why would I make that stuff up? lol There is so much work that needs to be done to these rooms and the host doesn’t care to do it.

Beach? Yes. Boutique hotel? No. Fantasy? Nightmares. Where to begin… This place was barely cleaned. My husband and I were in the army a combined 26+ years. We felt dirtier showering and sleeping here than when we were in the field with no showers. I used disinfectant wipes on door knobs, light switches and other highly touched areas - the wipes went from white to brown immediately. Disgusting. The bedrooms smelled of mildew and the sheets were covered in lint and falling apart. They barely covered the yellow brown mattress so we bought our own sheets at Walmart to be able to sleep. We also bought slippers because our feet were sticking to the carpet - presumably from not being cleaned. The bathroom reeked of urine - the toilet was not cleaned and you could clearly see fecal particles under the seat. The towels provided were falling apart and nearly see through. When we used the towels, we ended up with black lint all over us. I ended up buying towels not only because the quality of the provided ones were terrible but because the owner refused my mother in law and I any more towels as one towel was apparently sufficient for each person for the entire 4 days we were staying there. The site listed toiletries in the bathroom but all that was there was a dispenser in the shower with Ajax dish soap (we smelled and tried it then compared it to the Ajax dish soap in the kitchen) and hand soap that had the pump replaced with what looks like another Ajax cap. There is a kitchen but don’t expect to do any cooking. The stove was covered in foil and one of the burners was not fitted correctly. You’d think if a kitchenette is a part of the place, you would have some dishes and paper towels. The kitchenette only had a functioning fridge, dirty coffee maker and some utensils previous guests left behind. This place is not handicap accessible. Stairs are mentioned ONLY in the property facilities after you click more. Site says upper floors accessible by stairs only…didn’t say all apartments were only accessible by stairs. I had my in laws with me, one of whom uses a cane and takes 10 minutes going up and down stairs. The stairs are not safe at all, especially with the green turf on the stairs. It rained most days we were there so the stairs were slick and primed for people to slip. Parking was difficult as there is a fence with numbers spray painted to designate a spot. Some people used two spots to park because the spots themselves must be wide enough to fit a mini cooper. The WiFi was atrocious. Barely worked the entire time and when we went on the patio, the WiFi immediately disconnected. The icing on the cake was them charging me multiple times, to include incidentals (I’ve never been charged $300 for incidentals prior to check in), that American Express marked the payments as fraud. My mother in law got to the spot prior to me so she used her card for the remainder of the payment. Turned out that they overcharged her and added on non cash 4% fees, when the booking site said all fees were included. There were positives - it was close to the beach and a bagel/coffee spot.

We were a party of 5 ladies who stayed 2 nights. This was a splendid location. Very clean and relatively quiet for being right on the main strip in OOB. Everything that you could possibly need is within a five minute walk; restaurants, dancing, the beach, the pier, endless shopping, an arcade and an amusement park. The rooms are simply but well decorated. The showers were clean with great hot water. Very comfortable. Well worth the price. I would stay there again.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Beach Fantasy Boutique. Our apartment was fantastic and the owners were welcoming. My family and I have stayed at various locations in Old Orchard Beach over the years and found the price for our stay at Beach Fantasy Boutique to be comparable for a family of 6-7. The location is ideal and the apartment provided us with a great view of the street. The balcony was awesome. We look forward to booking with Fantasy Beach Boutique again next year.
