This is an older BW that has been updated at some point. Walking in to the room we were greeted with a clean fresh smell. The desk clerk was a little abrupt but made up for it the following morning. The food was good and the young man who ran the breakfast area was happy and exceptional. The loation is great for a Cades Cove visit. We loved the town sidewalks for bicycle and walking. Good restaurants nearby. Only downside is that it no longer has a pool.

The environment surrounding Best Western Cades Cove Inn is one of its strongest selling points. Townsend, Tennessee, is affectionately known as the "peaceful side of the Smokies," offering a quieter and less congested alternative to the bustling towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The hotel's location is particularly advantageous for visitors to Cades Cove, being just a short drive away from its entrance. This proximity allows guests to easily access the scenic loop, historic structures, and abundant wildlife viewing opportunities that Cades Cove is famous for. The area itself is characterized by its natural beauty, with lush greenery and mountain views. Guests appreciate the town's sidewalks, which are excellent for walking and cycling, providing a relaxed atmosphere for enjoying the outdoors. While the hotel itself is not deeply secluded, its position on E Lamar Alexander Parkway provides easy access to nearby dining options and the Townsend Visitors Center, enhancing the convenience for travelers looking to explore the area without being in the midst of heavy tourist traffic. Being a non-smoking property contributes to a fresh and comfortable environment for all guests.

In terms of services, Best Western Cades Cove Inn aims to provide a comfortable and welcoming experience. A significant highlight for many guests is the complimentary full hot breakfast offered daily, typically featuring a selection of breads, cereals, fruit, hot eggs, hot breakfast meat, yogurt, juice, and coffee. While experiences with staff can vary, reviews often highlight the helpfulness and friendliness of the breakfast area attendant, ensuring a positive start to the day. A 24-hour front desk is available to assist with guest needs, and the property offers free self-parking, including truck/RV parking, which is a valuable amenity for those traveling with larger vehicles. Guests often cite the complimentary hot breakfast and free parking as significant value additions. The hotel's strategic location near key attractions like the Townsend Visitors Center, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park entrance, and the iconic Cades Cove is consistently highlighted as a major draw. Proximity to local restaurants and the charming town sidewalks for walking and biking further enhances its appeal. While the absence of a pool is a noted downside for some, the overall value is often seen in its convenience, cleanliness, and the friendliness of the staff, especially considering it provides a quiet retreat away from the more commercialized areas of the Smokies. It's advisable for guests to check current promotions on the Best Western website or contact the hotel directly for the most up-to-date offers and to confirm specific amenities, particularly concerning the pool.

The staff were absolutely rude to us and there were ants in our room! Every time any of them spoke to us, they had raised their voice so loud, I literally jumped in response sometimes after waiting and waiting to be acknowledged. And who doesn’t have fans in their bathrooms??? The only reason we chose to stay here in the first place was convenience of location to Townsend visitor center and a slightly lower rate. Well, forget it! I would rather pay a little more and walk a little further! Oh and for all the pictures of a swimming pool or the icon on their website… the pool is concreted in. Not coming back.

This hotel is a solid choice for anyone visiting Townsend. The property itself is clean, well-maintained, and our room had everything we needed. The bed and pillows were comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. While the amenities are standard, what truly sets this hotel apart is its staff. Despite having a small team, they are incredibly attentive, friendly, and go out of their way to make guests feel welcomed. Their hospitality is exceptional, and it made our stay memorable. If I return to Townsend, this will be the hotel I choose without hesitation. Based on the service alone, I’d give this place 10 stars!

Gentleman at the front desk was less than accommodating when asking for an early check in (1pm). TV service is streaming and the WiFi service isn’t strong enough to stream content without buffering. Lovely woman at the front desk when we returned to check in was pleasant and friendly.

The staff especially the supervisors business ethic is bismall to say the least. I booked a room came into town and the staff was rude and not helpfull at all. They cancelled my reservation when i arrived, over their mistake in the listing. I would recomend staying somewhere else. This trip costed me double now having to book somewhere else the day of my arrival. Buyer beware of this hotel. I also logged a complaint with corpaerate, but they are privately owned and franchise name. So they dont adhere to best western policies. Stay away from there , i wouldve givien a neg. rating on the staff if option had been availiable.
