Brooklyn Vybe Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

Yikes, I've stayed in cheap motels that were in better shape. The description and photos of this hotel are completely different from the reality. I saw no sign of a bar or restaurant, just a basement space for breakfast. The room smelled like cigarette smoke - all of my stuff now smells and I'll have to air my bags out. It looked like someone had punched the wall art in our room. Gashes in the walls, smashed outlet cover. The only lighting was the overhead, it looked like the sconces on the headboard that are shown in the hotel's photos had been removed. The shower floor was pretty gross. The staff seemed pretty uninterested when we checked in, but nearly every time we came or went there was another customer in the lobby fighting with them about some issue. The door and walls were so thin that at one point in the night I woke up scared because it sounded like someone was trying to get into my room, only to discover that it was someone across the hall. I didn't think the other reviews that I read could possibly be fair, but I should have listened because it really was that bad.

Booked a non smoking room for 5 nights; got to the hotel and of course they gave us a room reeked of smoke. The bed linen had stains so we had to request a new room. They wanted to charge us more money but we protested that we were not given what we paid for so the agent agreed and moved us to a different room; which was better. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom/shower was good too. But the people in and out of that hotel gives a weird vibe. There were loud banging and cursing in the hallways at nights. On my floor there was one dude banging on a door after midnight promising to “violate” the person behind the closed door. I tried to call the front desk to report but the phone didn’t work; guess it’s just for show in the room. The location was central where you can walk around and shop and easy access to restaurants and local foods. The hotel itself isn’t bad but some of the people who stays there are a bit sketchy and there’s no security ensuring only guest comes into the building and for that I wouldn’t stay there again.

Uninhabitable does not begin to describe the garbage dump of a "hotel" that Ascent has the audacity to charge consumers for in Brooklyn. Every moment of the experience, from being welcomed by mostly boarded up front doors, to the unintelligible "reception" workers, only accessible after traversing the relentlessly begging vagabonds, to the putrid smells, offending sights, and other worldly inhabitants of the "lobby" makes me confident that this place should be immediately and permanently closed down. No legitimate company should put their name behind this brand. My comforter and sheets were so filthy, that I literally purchased 3 yards of fabric to cover the bed, to prevent any contact with it. I was forced to sleep fully clothed, with my hood over my head. There was only a little toilet paper left on the roll when entering the room. There was no soap. The idea of using the shower was just comical. All the hard surface flooring was sticky, and carpet stained. Huge hairballs punctuated the ambiance. Prison-like is the only way to describe the lighting, which was absent any lamps. There were unknown brown stains on the ceiling. The remote control for the TV, while somewhat functional, was sticky and smelled. There was absolutely nothing redeeming about this location, including the thick rancid scent of something rotten and burnt at the same time. I beg anyone who considers staying here out of convenience to reconsider, unless you enjoy throwing money in the trash in return for the worst hotel experience you will ever have.

I recently stayed here and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The hotel is ideally located in a vibrant part of Brooklyn, making it easy to explore the city's many attractions. The room I stayed in was stylishly furnished and very cozy. The bed was particularly comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. I also love the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff. They were incredibly helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Brooklyn Vybe Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection to my friends and colleagues.

This is one nasty hotel. Just a dirty feeling throughout. Front door handle broken and just hanging. Elevators have a strong smell of weed - most of my 3-day stay. Bath towels were clean (I hope) but stained. Refrigerator and TV didn't work. TV remote didn't match or work with the TV. Garbage bags throughout the hallways. Shower temp was barely warm. I've travelled to 3rd world countries and had better accommodations.
