A group of us on a Harley trip stayed here on July 3rd 2025. It had started raining just prior to arrival. Once we arrived, we needed to dry the motorcycles. The person who greeted us was "April". She was extremely accomadating and made sure we had all we needed. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Later that night, April served us some cocktails at the on site bar. She was so nice and a lot of fun to talk with. She made the stay very nice. The hotel is close to a loud train crossing but no big deal. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in the area.

Location and Accessibility
Cobblestone Inn & Suites - Marquette is conveniently located at 100 North St, Marquette, IA 52158, USA. This puts it in a prime position for anyone visiting the area, whether for leisure or business. Situated in Clayton County, Marquette is a charming city on the banks of the Mississippi River, offering stunning views and easy access to both Iowa and Wisconsin. The hotel’s central location within the town makes it a practical base for exploring local attractions, including the Effigy Mounds National Monument, Pikes Peak State Park, and the Upper Iowa River.
The hotel’s address is easy to find, making your arrival smooth and stress-free. For those traveling by car, the property is a short drive from major roads, and it offers on-site parking for guests. Its proximity to the Mississippi River also means that scenic drives and river-related activities are just minutes away.
A noteworthy aspect of the location is its proximity to a train crossing. This can result in some noise, as noted by some guests. For light sleepers, it's worth being aware of this. However, many travelers, including a group on a Harley trip, have found the overall experience to be positive and the noise to be a minor detail. The hotel provides earplugs in every room as a thoughtful gesture to help with this, demonstrating an awareness of the potential issue and a commitment to guest comfort.
Additionally, the hotel is situated near the only gas station in town. While this provides a convenient spot for fueling up, some guests have mentioned that the lights and traffic can be noticeable. The location, while generally very convenient, comes with some aspects that guests should be aware of, but for many, the benefits of being centrally located and close to key amenities outweigh these factors.

Jul 07, 2025 · Matt PagachLucy doesn't like walk ins or when patrons don't have reservations or inquire about handicapped rooms. She rudely described the 2 rooms possible then said they were around $170. Google had the hotel listed for $104. Big difference. Lucy refused to honor it and I was told I had to go through a 3rd party to get that price. Which according to Lucy could take minutes to hours to show up on their system. Surprise - it took hours and they refused to give us a key even though they had all of our info and a confirmation number. There's literally 2 cars in the parking lot. It's not like they should be turning down customers. My husband got involved and she was rude to him. If we weren't so exhausted from driving and the trouble and money already invested in the non refundable reservation we would have gone elsewhere. Had we known about the noise and lights we would have. Every room has earplugs for a reason! You can throw a rock and hit a train and a gas station. Train blows its horn at least every half hour right outside the hotel. The only gas station in town is right outside your window. Lovely view of glaring lights through the curtains that don't close properly. Every truck and motorcycle (which is everyone) with no muffler takes off like a bat out of hell with absolutely no regard for any possible people either in the hotel or in any other building. Barney Fife hides up the hill and nabs everyone rolling through the stop sign right outside your window. Two tv remotes and neither controls the obnoxious volume then wouldn't shut the tv off. We just unplugged it. Nothing about this hotel is worth the full price. Nothing is worth any discounted price. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else!
Jun 19, 2025 · Cin dyThis is our 2nd night at Cobblestone. First night in Montcello. The bed frame had a portrusion that was covered by a padded nightskirt & my leg was cut on it. My partner had to ask for a bandaid at the desk which they provided but then he was told for him to contact the housekeeping to take care of it. 2nd night was in Marquette. We were to stay a 2nd night in Marquette but cancelled. Rooms were adequate but there was no more bacon at breakfast & and no one around to ask. It was like they expected you to take care of yourself or were understaffed. There is only one chair in the room & it is a desk chair.
Jul 28, 2025 · Judy GreenRight in the heart of the village, across the street from the big river. The downsides, right on the main road into town, on a sharp curve that people come flying through. Keep your kids close if you cross this street. Also, adjacent to train tracks that featured several loud trains and whistles throughout the night. Also, the front desk said there was no place in town to eat, so we drove across the river into Wisconsin for dinner. I've been staying at the Austin, MN location for several weeks for work. One thing Cobblestone has to figure out, do they have a bar or not. The "bars" are off the front desk so the desk attendant is also the bartender. In Austin, you're lucky to get a drink depending on who's working. Here, I was going to have a drink, but im not sure the bar was even open. The front desk attendant was up on the 4th floor vacuuming a big common area overlooking the river when we went to check out the overlook. Another time she was doing laundry. There isn't enough business at either place to have a full time bartender, but the people who are supposed to be doing it don't appear to be interested either. Apparently the idea of some extra cash in their pockets from tips doesn't appeal to them. I don't know, but it's very frustrating.
Jul 05, 2025 · morg55306The facility and parking were very nice. The day staff was pleasant and very helpful. The evening staff was not at all helpful. She preferred to tell us what "wasn't her job" verses how she could help. Trains passing were frequent and horns were lous.
