I’ve stayed at this hotel several times in the past (most recently in January) and never had issues, but this latest experience was so bad I feel compelled to warn others. We checked in and went to our first room (I believe it was 107). The moment we opened the door, we were hit with an overwhelming stench of dog urine. It was so strong it made our eyes water. We didn’t even step inside. I went to the front desk and requested a different room. The second room seemed okay at first, until we pulled back the sheets and found black dog hair all over the bed. Back to the desk I went. I was told at first that we couldn’t be refunded because we booked through Booking.com, which was frustrating—but we still gave it another shot and asked for a third room, preferably not on the first floor. The third room looked passable until we started getting settled. My mom went to shower and found the tub slimy and covered in hair. A closer look at the rest of the room showed it was filthy—nothing had been wiped down, the floors were sticky, and it clearly hadn’t been vacuumed. At that point, we gave up. We returned the key and told the front desk we were leaving. Thankfully, a second employee apologized and said we would be refunded. However, I have yet to see that refund hit my account. This stay was beyond disappointing. The quality and cleanliness of this hotel have gone downhill fast, and I won’t be returning unless major changes are made. Avoid this place until they get their act together. Update: I have contacted Booking.com and their customer service stated that they have reached out to the property multiple times and have not received a response.

Apr 14, 2025 · LeahI had a quick trip to Asheville over the memorial day weekend. This Comfort Inn was the closest to the venue where I was going for an event. I checked in on Friday night (5/23), front desk staff was friendly. My room was on the 1st floor (116). Upon entering, I noticed a musty smell (probably because the AC was off). The room was small - but comfortable (great bed!). Pulled the desk chair out to set my bag on - it looked like it was borrowed from an old office - severely worn out. (I noticed someone else posted a picture of the chair in their room). The refrigerator when the freezer part started to defrost, drained out of the unit and onto the credenza that it was in. But the one thing that really bothered me about my stay: At breakfast on Saturday morning, I noticed a young lady walking around the food area and then she went over to the juice/water dispenser with her personal water bottle (ie Deer Park Water) and proceeded to refill it. So, the mouth of the bottle touched the water dispenser. I later saw her at the front desk - so she was an employee and no telling HOW many times she had done this in the past. I am sure that she's not the only one.. probably guests do it too... but for an employee to do that is just gross.
May 27, 2025 · Paige StricklandIncredible value! Clean, nice rooms and bathrooms. Wonderfully comfortable bed. The other furniture in the room is comfortable and efficacious. Charging ports everywhere. Nice, big TVs in the rooms. A lockable safe, incredibly courteous staff. Great location for all things Asheville too. Sue the G.M. runs a top notch ship!
Mar 13, 2025 · M HI rarely leave one-star reviews, but this hotel was completely unacceptable. While the staff was polite, the overall condition of the rooms made for a highly uncomfortable stay. We booked multiple rooms, and each one presented a new issue—remnants of bugs, a non-functional sink, and a general sense of uncleanliness throughout. The level of grime in the rooms was unsettling, making it difficult to relax. As a housekeeper myself, I have a clear understanding of proper cleanliness and hygiene standards, and unfortunately, this hotel did not meet them. The pictures I posted show the lack of attention to detail. Sure we had “new” towels and sheets but because of the lack of attention to detail I didn’t really trust it. The lack of proper maintenance and sanitation was evident, and I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this location to anyone seeking a comfortable and hygienic stay.
Feb 02, 2025 · The HousekeeperFor the price, I expected a mediocre room-my bad! Extremely clean (and I’m a clean freak), instant hot water, thick towels (even the washcloths), 50 inch TV, good cable and Wi-Fi, Keurig in room, very good breakfast bar (even had low-fat milk and sugar-free syrup), friendly, and happy staff (so many employees happy and joking with each other-good morale), pet friendly! I will stay here every time I come to Asheville!
