I've stayed at this hotel yearly for over a decade. That loyalty ends now. The last few times, I have told the staff that there is rampant drug dealing in the parking lot. They appeared to care, but have not done anything to rectify the situation (guards, cameras, police presence). Now I'm seeing that the hotel is overrun with the homeless and migrants making fraudulent asylum claims with no apparent concern for safety or for a quiet hotel experience. It's really a shame how the current owners have taken what was a once a nice and reasonably priced hotel and turned it into a nightmare. Actions have consequences, and one those is losing long term customers.
For individuals and families seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Foxborough/Mansfield area of Massachusetts, the Comfort Inn Foxboro - Mansfield, located at 4 Fisher St, Foxborough, MA 02035, has historically been a consideration. The hotel can be reached via phone at (508) 543-1000 or mobile at +1 508-543-1000. It positions itself as a convenient base for exploring local attractions, particularly those related to Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place.
The Comfort Inn brand, part of Choice Hotels, generally aims to provide a reliable and comfortable stay with essential amenities. This property, situated near the intersection of Interstates 495 and 95, offers easy access to various regional destinations. However, recent customer reviews highlight significant shifts in the hotel's environment and guest experience, which prospective visitors should be aware of.
Environment and Ambiance:
Historically, the Comfort Inn Foxboro - Mansfield was described as a "nice and reasonably priced hotel." It aims to provide modern comforts in a colonial atmosphere, typically focusing on cleanliness and a quiet experience. The property features a lobby with a fireplace, which can offer a cozy touch.
However, recent guest reviews indicate a notable and concerning change in the hotel's environment. Multiple guests have reported an "extremely high volume" of "homeless and migrants / asylum seekers / internationally displaced persons / stateless persons" staying at the hotel. This situation has led to significant disruptions and safety concerns for some paying guests. Specific mentions include:
These recent accounts suggest a significant decline in the overall ambiance and comfort that one would typically expect from a Comfort Inn property. The presence of a large, non-traditional guest population appears to have impacted the cleanliness and tranquility of the common areas.
Services and Amenities:
Despite the environmental concerns, the Comfort Inn Foxboro - Mansfield continues to offer a range of amenities that are generally standard for the Comfort Inn brand. These include:
However, the consistency of some services, like housekeeping, has been called into question by recent reviews. One guest reported that "housekeeping staff never came," necessitating a return to the front desk for towels.
Features and Highlights:
Historically, the hotel's key features included its "cozy beds" and the "free signature hot breakfast." Its proximity to major attractions was also a significant draw. Positive interactions with staff have been noted in older reviews, highlighting "excellent very friendly service and staff."
Recent feedback, however, introduces considerable caution for potential guests. The perceived lack of action by hotel management to address the "rampant drug dealing in the parking lot" and the "overrun" state with temporary residents are serious concerns regarding safety and the overall guest experience. The specific instance of a "check in staff guy" lacking "customer service skills" and being dismissive further compounds the negative impression for some.
The sentiment from long-term customers, as expressed in the reviews, is a strong "Buyer beware" and a recommendation to "not suggest you select this hotel until migrants are gone," indicating a significant departure from its previous standing.
Promotional Information and Local Attractions:
The Comfort Inn Foxboro - Mansfield is strategically located near the intersection of Interstates 495 and 95, making it easily accessible for travelers. Its primary promotional advantage lies in its proximity to several key Foxborough/Mansfield attractions:
Despite these location benefits, the current challenges articulated in guest reviews suggest that the overall experience at the Comfort Inn Foxboro - Mansfield may not align with typical expectations for travelers prioritizing a quiet, clean, and secure environment. For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," it is crucial to weigh the convenient location and amenities against the reported significant changes in the hotel's operating environment and guest demographic. Potential visitors are strongly advised to consider the recent feedback and assess if the current conditions meet their specific needs and expectations for safety, comfort, and quietude.

Oct 30, 2023 · Scott RussellBuyer beware Migrants | Asylum seekers | Internationally displaced persons | Stateless persons in extremely high volume at this hotel. I mention this as its very close to Foxboro so the hotel is close so you will probably consider it if planning for an event /game at The stadium The staff did a good job reminding the seekers that breakfast was for paying guests and that they receive their food later. It felt weird watching that … but…. I was paying 170 a night. The first floor smelled absolutely horrible. It smelled like body odor, cooked fish, and farts all combined into one candle, one very bad, powerful, overwhelming candle. It made me gag several times. When you pull in be prepared to see men just standing around the entrances. They were harmless, just trying to most likely get out of a small room or hall that smelled like dead fish with nowhere to go … but … be prepared. Also, Kids run the halls at 7am. You won’t be sleeping in here with the current situation. Did I mention the smell? Ugh … Check in staff guy ( 4pm arrival for us) needs some customer service skills. Maybe he’s just tired from what’s going on but he needs some work. When I returned for towels on second day because housekeeping staff never came it was if I was bothering him. Just some training here would help him. I would not suggest you select this hotel until migrants are gone. Football season is starting so I’m guessing the area gets much busier being so close to Gillette Stadium. . Pros: bed was comfortable, plenty of other food choices in area, location to stadium. I would ask for a 3rd floor room, I had a later night person above me and I could hear every step they took throughout the entire evening.
Sep 04, 2023 · John FThis is a really nice 2-star hotel. They have a cute front lobby. Free hot and cold breakfast 6am-10am. Vending machines on every floor. Ice machine on the first floor. Beds and pillows are comfortable. The chair and ottoman are comfortable. Shower is hot with good pressure. But the bathroom is obnoxiously loud. I want to give them 5 stars, but I give them 4 stars for several reason. The employees are sweet and attentive, but they are extremely noisy, and the ignore do not disturb sign. The walls and ceiling/floor are very thin. It's very hard to get any sleep at this hotel. Especially during the day. The heat/ac units don't have thermostats. So you are constantly getting up to turning the unit on and off to regulate the temperature. The refrigerator is basically a freezer.
May 11, 2023 · Foxxy 0315Apparently they aren’t a hotel anymore. It’s an immigrant shelter. Had a room booked here for months and they canceled my room 6 weeks before my trip when they knew months in advance that they were not gonna be open. Had to completely scramble to find a new place to stay because all of the other hotels are completely full that weekend
Jun 23, 2024 · Ethan IlventoRooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel layout is a bit odd. The luggage carts and elevator are at the side entrance and the lobby is in the front, we didn’t know where to park and moved our car 2 x. There is only 1 elevator kinda in the middle of the hotel. Breakfast was very nice. We only stayed for 1night so not much interaction with the staff. There is a 99 restaurant in the same parking lot if you need dinner. The hotel is very charming looking at night. It met our expectations.
