We stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites this past weekend for a tournament, and unfortunately, it was by far the worst Comfort Inn experience we’ve had. Before arriving, I attempted to call the front desk four separate times during our 3.5-hour drive to make a simple reservation modification—no one ever answered. When we arrived, no staff could be found. I had to knock on various doors (housekeeping, bathroom) and finally resorted to loudly calling out until someone from guest services appeared. While he was very pleasant and helpful during check-in, he seemed to disappear for the rest of the evening. I tried again later to get extra blankets for the pullout sofa and waited over 10 minutes before giving up. The property itself was in poor condition. The carpet where it meets the tile near our room was soaking wet and dangerously slick. The elevator was out of order, and we had to haul everything up and down from the third floor. Our room (313) was not clean—dirty carpet, cobwebs, dust, splattered mirrors, and most shockingly, what appeared to be blood on two of the four lampshades. There were no mattress protectors, and the pullout sofa didn’t even have a mattress. Some sort of brown splatter marked the ceiling. The pool had a visible film on the surface and looked unclean, so we didn’t bother using it. We also skipped the breakfast after the rest of what we saw. The only positives: the room stayed cold, the door locked, the key worked, and towels and toiletries were provided. We booked through Hotels.com and paid $190 for two nights—it wasn’t even worth a free stay. This property is in serious need of attention from upper management. I've stayed at many Comfort Inns and this is by far the worst. Comfort Inn can and should do better

Jul 22, 2025 · Amandaj HeistandThe hotel is right off the main drag, easy to find, and within a ten minute drive of the mall. Super quick and easy checkin for us, and both front desk people I've encountered have been really nice. Pool is small but sufficiently deep to enjoy, albeit a little dirty at the bottom - no hot tub. Our shower had really good water pressure. Bed was really comfortable, but whenever our upstairs neighbor was up and about the ceiling creaked along with. Window does open for fresh air. Our room only had two bath towels and a floor mat, no hand towels or extras, but if I asked for more, they'd probably have given them. We stayed in room 206. Only paid like $50 for the room. Pretty decent quality for a good bargain.
Jun 02, 2025 · Amber RobinsonLike many others, I only left 1 star, because it wouldn't let me leave 0. We stayed at Comfort Inn & Suites, Coralville, IA, Sat., 7/26/25, and were very disappointed. I am handicapped, and they knew it, but still rented us a room, knowing there elevator was out of service, and has been for quite sometime. According to the desk attendant, they were supposed to send me an email telling me this, but they neglected (chose) to do so. From the other reviews, the elevator issue has been going on for quite some time. Because other overnight options weren't available we could, A, sleep in our car, or, B, take the room. I had to crutch up 2 flights of steps. This was VERY hard & inconvenient. I've said all this to say, BEWARE!
Jul 29, 2025 · ben smithThis was by far the nastiest comfort inn I've ever slept in. The main level hallway was covered in dirt and little pieces of trash, as was the second level. The 3rd floor was slightly cleaner but nothing to brag about. The rooms were ok. I still kept my shoes on to walk around. There was some nasty brown splatters on the wall and hair in the bed. The ONLY reason I stayed was because it was 1am and I was exhausted. I couldn't see any bed bugs, but Im guessing I just got lucky. They have a pool but it was filthy, no surprise there. Oh and the elevator was broken. The front desk gal was nice but not very good at her job. Failed to tell us about the elevator till after we paid, told us we could use a side door to get to the stairs, the lock was broken and door didnt work. The bed was semi comfy but the pillows were fluffy. They do offer breakfast but I had to leave an hour earlier then they served it. Honestly, I wouldn't eat there anyways so no big loss. Save your money and try the Days Inn across the street instead. Kayla, if your still the manager, get your act together! Oh, I also tried to give the benefit of the doubt when I seen the unkept lawn, turns out that was the first sign.
Jul 30, 2025 · Melanie StollDid not like the busy location, it did not feel safe and parking lot was too small for traveling with a cargo trailer. Sleep was not to be had due to constant footsteps back and forth at night, along with noises from kids running up and down the hallway. The water in shower barely got warm enough to use. Also used their grill and ordered a quesadilla and 16 oz drink. It was almost $50 with tip and various fees charged. Then they forgot my drink, which alone was $5. The delivery guy told me to request a refund because he said there was no drink on my order when it clearly was on my receipt they sent me. I talked to someone by phone who after confirming my email time me they were sending me a gift card. I'm still waiting for that. I left after being in room only 4 hours and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet night of rest. Yes they are dog friendly, but wanted to charge me for my 2 ESA dogs saying they weren't the right kind of support animal for no fee. Other hotels I have been to recently out West were not charging me so maybe it's an Iowa thing IDK but will never be back.
