My wife and I stayed at the Cork hotel 2 weeks ago. Very nice room and stay. The hotel has lots of character. Attached restaurant/bar is has nice cozy atmosphere with stone walls all around. Food was good. I read the other reviews about noise. We stayed on the 4th floor (top floor) and it was very quiet. I could see how staying at a lower floor could be a problem because of the old factory floors. Be sure to ask for the top floor when you book. The area around the hotel was ok but be aware the best area of downtown is a mile or two down the road. Overall, a charming and nice place to stay in Lancaster City.
For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with a distinctive character and rich history in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the Cork Factory Hotel stands out as an exceptional choice. Located at 480 New Holland Ave #3000, Lancaster, PA 17602, USA, this establishment is far from a typical chain hotel, offering a unique blend of industrial heritage and contemporary luxury. It’s an ideal destination for travelers seeking an immersive experience rather than just a place to sleep.
The Cork Factory Hotel is housed within a beautifully restored 19th-century cork manufacturing facility, a heritage that imbues every corner of the property with a sense of history and unique charm. This transformation from a bustling factory to a sophisticated hotel has preserved much of its original architecture, including exposed brick walls, timber beams, and soaring ceilings, creating an ambiance that is both rustic and refined. The meticulous attention to preserving the building's historical elements while integrating modern comforts is a hallmark of the Cork Factory Hotel's appeal.
Upon entering the Cork Factory Hotel, guests are immediately struck by its distinctive environment. The lobby and common areas exude a warm, inviting atmosphere, blending industrial aesthetics with elegant furnishings. The original architectural features, such as stone walls and exposed brick, are prominently displayed, contributing to the hotel's "lots of character" as noted by guests. The design thoughtfully incorporates natural light, highlighting the textures and rich history of the building. The hotel’s commitment to preserving its past while providing a comfortable and stylish present is evident throughout.
The attached restaurant and bar, The Cork & Cap Restaurant, extends this cozy and characteristic atmosphere. With its stone walls and warm lighting, it provides a welcoming space for dining and socializing. The overall ambiance of the hotel is generally quiet and serene, particularly on higher floors, allowing for a relaxing stay. While the immediate area around the hotel is a developing urban landscape, it offers a sense of authentic Lancaster, with the vibrant heart of downtown Lancaster City just a short distance away – approximately a mile or two. This location provides a balance between a peaceful retreat and convenient access to the city's attractions, including the historic Central Market, diverse dining options, and local boutiques.
The Cork Factory Hotel is committed to providing a high level of service, blending personalized attention with modern conveniences. Each of the uniquely designed guest rooms and suites offers a blend of historic charm and contemporary amenities. Guests can expect comfortable bedding, well-appointed private bathrooms, and high-speed internet access. While specific details on in-room amenities beyond comfort are not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, the general expectation for a hotel of this caliber includes flat-screen TVs, coffee makers, and luxurious toiletries. The mention of "plastic cups" by one reviewer suggests an area where expectations for luxury may occasionally diverge, though this appears to be an isolated detail within a generally positive experience.
A significant highlight of the Cork Factory Hotel's offerings is its on-site dining. The Cork & Cap Restaurant is praised for its "nice cozy atmosphere" and "good food." This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring a menu that often emphasizes locally sourced ingredients, reflecting Lancaster County's rich agricultural heritage. The bar provides a relaxing setting for an evening drink, further enhancing the guest experience without requiring them to leave the hotel property.
For events and conferences, the Cork Factory Hotel is particularly renowned. It features a variety of versatile event spaces, making it a popular choice for weddings, corporate meetings, and social gatherings. The blend of historic charm and modern facilities provides a unique backdrop for any occasion. Other general services often available at hotels of this type include 24-hour front desk service, concierge assistance, and potentially fitness facilities, though these are not explicitly detailed in the provided information.
The Cork Factory Hotel's most defining feature is its historic conversion. The preservation of the original factory architecture, including the exposed brick and timber, creates an aesthetic that is truly unique and draws guests who appreciate character and authenticity. Each room often has its own distinct layout and feel, contributing to a personalized experience that is unlike staying in a cookie-cutter hotel.
The hotel's location, while not in the immediate bustling core of downtown, offers its own advantages. It provides a slightly quieter environment while still being very accessible to Lancaster City's attractions. The proximity to major roads also makes it a convenient base for exploring the broader Lancaster County region, including Amish country attractions, outlet shopping, and various cultural sites. The attached restaurant and bar add immense value, offering a high-quality dining experience right on site, which is a significant convenience for guests.
Another notable feature, as highlighted by guest reviews, is the variation in room noise levels. Guests have observed that staying on higher floors, particularly the 4th (top) floor, significantly mitigates any potential noise from the old factory floors. This insight provides valuable guidance for future guests during their booking process, allowing them to optimize their stay for maximum quietness and comfort.
The Cork Factory Hotel consistently receives high praise for its unique character, beautiful spaces, and the quality of its on-site restaurant. Many guests, like the one who noted "Very nice room and stay. The hotel has lots of character," are drawn to its distinctive charm. The positive feedback often centers on the aesthetic appeal and the enjoyable dining experience.
However, it is also important to address specific feedback to provide a balanced overview. One guest experienced an "aggressive checkout experience" due to an early checkout time (11 am) and a miscommunication regarding the clock change. This highlights a potential area for improvement in guest communication regarding checkout policies, especially during unique circumstances like daylight saving time changes. The comment about "plastic cups" also suggests a desire for higher-end amenities to match the hotel's overall luxurious feel. Despite these isolated points, the overarching sentiment from guests is overwhelmingly positive, with many describing it as a "charming and nice place to stay."
For those interested in booking, the Cork Factory Hotel can be reached at (717) 735-2075 or +1 717-735-2075. It is advisable to contact them directly for the most current information on rates, availability, and any special packages or promotions. Given the specific feedback about noise levels, potential guests might consider requesting a room on the higher floors when making reservations to ensure a quieter experience.
In conclusion, the Cork Factory Hotel offers a truly unique and memorable lodging experience for anyone looking for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Lancaster, PA. Its successful transformation from a historic factory into a stylish hotel, coupled with its excellent restaurant and event facilities, makes it a compelling choice for leisure travelers, business guests, and those planning special occasions. While mindful of minor service points, the overwhelming character and quality of the Cork Factory Hotel position it as a premier destination in Lancaster City.

May 09, 2025 · Bob KBeautiful space, and great restaurant, but they did not allow a late checkout, even on the Sunday the clocks moved forward! And, the checkout was early (11 am) to begin with! Because of the time change the clock in the room said we had an hour to checkout, when actually our time was up. And, the cleaning staff was very aggressive about knocking on the door the exact minute of checkout. We had a great time until the aggressive checkout experience. I was also a little out off by the plastic cups. This hotel is too nice for plastic!
Mar 09, 2025 · Kimberly CannonWe just had our baby shower at the Baker's Table and it was absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious and everyone thought the room was just so well decorated. 10/10 Recommend. Only thing is the parking can be a bit confusing, need to read signs.
Apr 29, 2025 · Lindsay MorrowThis hotel is off to a good start. I travel a lot for work and personal and have an upcoming work trip to Lancaster. I was a late add on to our team for this conference and after calling Marriott and getting a less than helpful associate at the front desk despite room available, I called Cork Factory and had the pleasure of speaking with Rosetta. She was super helpful, did her job, went out of her way to make sure I was able to book and procure a favorable rate for the conference and offered to follow up too. Nice to see customer service is shining at the front desk at this historic hotel! Thank you Rosetta!
Mar 19, 2025 · Stephanie K MoriartyVisit the bar and make sure Jennifer is your bartender! Second time staying at this hotel this year and was happy to see a familiar face. This girl can multitask and makes amazing cocktails! Hotel is beautiful. Food is great. Rooms are specious. Close to downtown.
