This place was smelly and dirty and needs a mayor upgrade … or just torn down. Looks like any repairs are done with whatever they have on hand at the time. Lamp didn’t work. Faucets either didn’t work or we just try to figure out how to turn them on. Mini fridge had no shelves in it. If it hadn’t been for the bad storms and being tired we would have never stopped there. I’d say the best thing about this place is the TV. Lady at check-in wasn’t friendly at all. I DO NOT recommend. Just keep driving. There are better places down the highway. I wish we had been able to keep going.

Thomson, Georgia, is a charming city located off I-20, known for its small-town appeal, historical sites, and as a popular stop for travelers heading to or from larger metropolitan areas like Atlanta and Augusta. As a part of our state's rich tapestry, understanding the local lodging options, from the most basic to more elaborate, helps us navigate our journeys or host our visitors effectively. Days Inn by Wyndham Thomson fits into the category of a roadside hotel, typically offering essential amenities for an overnight stay. Our goal here is to present accurate information based on publicly available data and, importantly, real customer experiences, to give you a comprehensive picture of what to expect from this hotel. While we aim to be informative, we will also ensure the content is factual, reflecting both the intended purpose of the hotel and any reported guest feedback.
The Days Inn by Wyndham Thomson benefits significantly from its highly accessible location at 1847 Washington Rd, Thomson, GA 30824, USA. Washington Road, also known as US-78, is a major thoroughfare that runs parallel to and intersects with Interstate 20. This means the hotel is incredibly easy to find for anyone traveling along I-20, making it an ideal stop for those on long drives who need to pull off the highway quickly.
Its proximity to I-20 Exit 172 provides seamless entry and exit, minimizing travel time and confusion. For locals in Thomson or nearby communities, directing visitors to this hotel is straightforward due to its prominent location on a main road. The area surrounding the hotel, while not typically bustling with upscale attractions, does offer the convenience of nearby gas stations and basic dining options, which are essential for road-weary travelers. For those looking to explore Thomson's local charm, the hotel provides a direct route into the heart of the city and its historical sites, such as the Wrightsboro Historic District or the Laurel and Hardy Museum (approximately a 10-minute drive). The presence of free self-parking also adds to the convenience, accommodating vehicles of various sizes. While customer reviews indicate significant concerns about the hotel's condition and cleanliness, its physical location remains a practical advantage for immediate roadside access.
Days Inn by Wyndham properties are typically known for offering fundamental services aimed at providing a basic, value-oriented stay. Based on general Days Inn offerings and public data, here are some services you can generally expect at Days Inn by Wyndham Thomson:
When considering Days Inn by Wyndham Thomson, it's crucial to balance its intended purpose as a budget-friendly roadside stop with the direct customer feedback provided. While the hotel aims to offer basic amenities, the reviews highlight significant concerns regarding its condition and comfort.
However, it is critically important to acknowledge the severe "cons" highlighted by multiple customer reviews:
These extensive negative feedbacks strongly suggest that while the hotel is conveniently located, guests should set very low expectations regarding cleanliness, maintenance, amenities, and service quality.

When calling, it would be advisable to confirm current conditions and available amenities, especially if the issues raised in customer reviews are a concern for your stay.
In conclusion, Days Inn by Wyndham Thomson is primarily suitable for locals in Georgia and interstate travelers who prioritize a very basic, budget-friendly stopover directly off I-20 in Thomson. Its strong point is undeniably its highly convenient location for a quick rest during a long journey, or as a straightforward, no-frills option for those visiting the immediate Thomson area who are on a tight budget. The availability of free parking and basic in-room amenities like a TV provides the absolute essentials for an overnight stay.
However, it is crucial for locals and visitors to be fully aware of the overwhelmingly negative customer feedback. The consistent reports of cleanliness issues (smell, dirty sheets, bugs), poor maintenance (broken lamps, faucets, missing fridge shelves), subpar breakfast, and unfriendly check-in staff paint a concerning picture. Therefore, while the hotel offers a convenient geographical location for a quick stop, it appears to fall significantly short on comfort, hygiene, and service quality according to recent guests. For those who require little more than a bed for a few hours and are willing to accept potentially significant compromises on cleanliness and comfort in exchange for extreme budget-friendliness and immediate I-20 access, it might serve a very specific, limited purpose. However, based on the strong warnings from past guests, many travelers, including locals, might find it prudent to "keep driving" and seek "better places down the highway" if comfort and cleanliness are priorities.

Jun 14, 2025 · A ShearinThe sheets in the room were not clean. The room was not really very clean and the breakfast was the worst I’ve seen they had to earn with coffee and a picture full of some kind of flavor aid +4 pieces of bread, butter, or margarine and packets and it was so cold in the room, but the butter was too hard to even spread and it’s few jam packets along with three very dry muffins. I’m a plus side the motel was quiet but not clean Or warm I mean, it should be comfortable. This is winter time and there should be heat and there was none in the common areas.
Mar 03, 2025 · Curtis FantThe room was cozy, super clean, and had all the amenities we needed. Loved the pool and spa area—it was the perfect way to unwind after a long day. Highly recommend!

May 06, 2025 · Micaela ReynaI booked this hotel on hotels.com because it was Day’s Inn by WYNDHAM; what a black eye to the Wyndham Brand. That this hotel made their ‘cut’ shows how far they have slipped in development and quality control. The only things that appeared new, and in good shape, were the two signs for the property prominently displaying the Wyndham name. I booked two rooms and both were equally disgusting. Cover plates were broken or missing. A light fixture in the bathroom was missing the globe. There was sticky stuff all over the cabinets, and surface areas. The hotels staff held us hostage, refusing to cancel our next day rental because it was after the 24 hour required notice (even though they don’t answer the white phone at the check in desk). If you need a hotel in Thomas, there is a Hampton by Hilton across the street. We booked with hotels.com which was no help in resolving the situation.
