Pros:Beds, pillows are great Nice decor Kitchen well stocked New hotel Housekeeping Breakfast Cons: Ac is motion activated, no movement air in room, it will be 73 or higher when I get back in from the day. Stuffy feeling. Fan is not constant, will kick off in the middle of the night. Called Maintenance to take off energy efficient and make fan constant, whatever he did did not work. Heard several complain about this feature even though staff said no one ever says anything. Apparently this is a Marriott trend. Lowest Ac goes is 64, doesn't feel 64, feels like 72. Hot water is not hot it's warm, said they have to keep temp like that so no one burns themselves. I've been in plenty of hotels they can come up at least to where it feels hot. Maintenance said he can adjust that, he did something in my tub but couldn't tell a difference. He was very nice and so was some of the staff, not all though, housekeeping is nice and breakfaat ladies. Some staff at desk don't even acknowledge you or smile, they all look miserable and unhappy. Breakfast is great other than always green bananas, even aggravated breakfast lady when i said do you ever have any bananas not green. I just went and bought my own. I've stayed here on and off over the last few months when in town for work because it is so clean. I also bought a fan from Walmart across the street and boil water in a pot on the stove and pour in my tub. My co worker is cold NATURED and stayed here and ac issues didn't bother her no the water. So guess it depends on your body, I like cold rooms, constant moving air and hot water.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott® Grovetown Introduce

Hello, fellow Georgians! When your travel plans bring you to the Augusta-Grovetown area for an extended stay, business relocation, or even a temporary home-away-from-home, finding the right accommodation is paramount. Today, we’re delving into TownePlace Suites by Marriott® Grovetown, a hotel designed specifically with longer stays in mind, offering a blend of comfort and convenience that appeals to those seeking a more residential experience. This article aims to provide a clear, engaging, and factual overview of this property, helping you understand its unique offerings and how it fits into our local Georgia community.

Grovetown and the wider Augusta area are dynamic and growing regions, serving as a hub for military personnel and their families at Fort Eisenhower, a destination for golf enthusiasts during the Masters, and a growing center for businesses. For locals, whether you’re undergoing home renovations, have family visiting for an extended period, or are simply looking for a pet-friendly option that feels more like an apartment, extended-stay hotels like TownePlace Suites can be invaluable. Being a relatively new hotel (built in 2014, making it still modern), it offers fresh decor and well-equipped suites. Our goal is to present accurate, publicly available information, including direct customer feedback, to give you a comprehensive picture of what to expect from TownePlace Suites by Marriott® Grovetown. We'll highlight its strengths, acknowledge reported concerns, and ultimately help you determine if it's the right fit for your next stay in Georgia.

The TownePlace Suites by Marriott® Grovetown boasts a highly convenient and accessible location at 893 Husk Box Way, Grovetown, GA 30813, USA. This address places it in a prime spot, just a stone's throw from Interstate 20, making it exceptionally easy to reach for anyone traveling through the state. The fact that it's located in a complex with "very nice hotels in the same parking lot" (as noted by a customer review) signifies a well-developed area with good infrastructure.

This strategic positioning offers immense accessibility. Whether you're commuting to Fort Eisenhower (approximately 15 minutes away), heading to the Augusta National Golf Club (also within a 15-minute drive), or simply exploring the greater Augusta area, the hotel's proximity to I-20 simplifies travel significantly. One of the major advantages, as highlighted by a customer, is its location "across the street" from Walmart, which is incredibly convenient for extended-stay guests needing groceries or other essentials. The area also features other stores and restaurants within easy reach, allowing guests to manage daily needs without extensive travel. The hotel offers free self-parking, further enhancing convenience for guests with vehicles. While the specific street, Husk Box Way, might not be immediately familiar, its direct connection to the main thoroughfares and proximity to key commercial and military points make it a highly practical and accessible choice for anyone in or visiting the Grovetown/Augusta region.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott® is designed specifically for extended stays, meaning it offers a more comprehensive range of services and in-room amenities than a traditional hotel. Based on public data and brand standards, here's what you can expect at TownePlace Suites by Marriott® Grovetown:

  • Complimentary Buffet Breakfast: Served daily, providing a convenient and free start to your day. (Hours typically 6:30 AM-9:30 AM on weekdays and 7:00 AM-10:00 AM on weekends).
  • Fully Equipped In-Suite Kitchens: Each suite features a private kitchen well-stocked with a full-sized refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and all necessary cookware and dishware. This is a significant advantage for extended stays.
  • Free High-Speed Wi-Fi: Available throughout the hotel, crucial for both work and leisure.
  • Seasonal Outdoor Swimming Pool: Perfect for relaxation, open from April 1 to October 31, with pool access from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
  • 24-Hour Fitness Center: Equipped for guests to maintain their workout routines.
  • 24-Hour Front Desk: Ensuring assistance is always available for check-in, check-out, and guest inquiries.
  • Business Center/Computer Station: Provides access to computers and printing services.
  • Pet-Friendly Policy: Allows 2 pets of any size for an additional fee of $100 per stay. Both dogs and cats are welcome.
  • Guest Laundry Facilities (Laundromat): Available 24/7 for guest convenience.
  • Outdoor Weber® Grills: Guests have access to outdoor grills, including seasonings and tools, for a more home-like dining experience.
  • Dry Cleaning/Laundry Services: Additional services available for a fee.
  • In-Room Amenities: Include comfortable beds, a flat-screen TV, spacious decor, and thoughtful storage solutions.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott® Grovetown offers several features designed to enhance the extended-stay experience, many of which were praised by customers. However, it's also important to acknowledge areas where guests reported issues.

  • Great Beds and Pillows: A significant highlight, with a customer explicitly stating "Beds, pillows are great," which is fundamental for a comfortable stay.
  • Well-Stocked Kitchens: The "kitchen well stocked" is a major advantage for extended stays, allowing guests to prepare their own meals and save on dining out.
  • New Hotel & Nice Decor: Being a relatively new property (built in 2014), it offers a fresh ambiance and "nice decor," contributing to a pleasant environment.
  • Cleanliness and Housekeeping: Customers appreciated the hotel's cleanliness, with one saying, "I've stayed here on and off over the last few months when in town for work because it is so clean," and praising "Housekeeping" directly.
  • Excellent Breakfast: The "Breakfast is great" and the "breakfast ladies" were noted as kind, offering a good start to the day.
  • Proximity to Walmart: The convenience of "Walmart across the street" is a major practical benefit for groceries and essentials.
  • Spacious Suites: TownePlace Suites are generally designed to offer more space than typical hotel rooms, making them comfortable for longer periods.
  • Pet-Friendly: The welcoming policy for pets (with a fee) is a huge plus for those traveling with their furry companions.

However, some significant "cons" were also reported:

  • Motion-Activated AC/Inconsistent Fan: Guests experienced issues with the AC being motion-activated, leading to rooms feeling "stuffy" or "73 or higher" upon return. The fan also reportedly "kicks off in the middle of the night," and the lowest AC setting (64) didn't feel as cold as expected. This suggests a potential comfort issue, especially for those who prefer cooler rooms or constant airflow.
  • Lukewarm Hot Water: Despite being told the temperature is kept low to prevent burns, guests found the "hot water is not hot, it's warm," even after maintenance attempts to adjust it.
  • Inconsistent Front Desk Customer Service: While some staff were "very nice," others "don't even acknowledge you or smile," and "all look miserable and unhappy." One severe review described a manager, "Alecia," who allegedly singled out a guest and her children, being "DISRESPECTFUL," refusing assistance when a child was locked in a pool area, and making the 4-year-old refer to it as "the one place with the mean lady." This specific feedback points to serious concerns about management and overall guest relations, particularly for families.
  • Green Bananas at Breakfast: A minor but recurring frustration for one guest was the consistent availability of "always green bananas," leading them to buy their own.

As a Marriott brand, TownePlace Suites by Marriott® Grovetown participates in the comprehensive Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, offering various promotions and special offers. While specific deals can fluctuate, guests can typically find:

  • Marriott Bonvoy Member Rates: Members of the free loyalty program often receive exclusive rates when booking directly.
  • Earn and Redeem Points: Members can earn points on qualifying stays, which can be redeemed for free nights, experiences, and more. Elite status members enjoy additional benefits like bonus points, late checkout, and welcome amenities.
  • Extended Stay Discounts: TownePlace Suites frequently offers special rates for longer stays (e.g., 5+ nights, 7+ nights, or even monthly rates), which are often more economical than daily rates.
  • Seasonal Promotions: Marriott Bonvoy regularly rolls out global or regional promotions, such as bonus points offers ("2X points"), discounts on specific destinations, or "stay more, earn more" campaigns.
  • AAA/CAA and Senior Rates: Special discounted rates are often available for members of AAA/CAA and for senior travelers.
  • Government & Military Discounts: Given Grovetown's proximity to Fort Eisenhower, it's highly likely that government and military rates are available.
  • Corporate Rates: Many companies have negotiated rates with Marriott, so inquire if your employer has one.

To secure the best available rate and to inquire about any specific ongoing promotions applicable to your stay, it is highly recommended to visit the official Marriott website, check the Marriott Bonvoy offers section, or contact the hotel directly using the information provided below. Always ask about specials when making your reservation to ensure you maximize your value.

For reservations, detailed inquiries about amenities, or any other questions, you can easily reach TownePlace Suites by Marriott® Grovetown using the following contact information:

  • Address: 893 Husk Box Way, Grovetown, GA 30813, USA
  • Phone: (762) 377-8160
  • Mobile Phone: +1 762-377-8160

Calling them directly will provide you with the most current information regarding room availability, pricing, pet policy specifics, and any special requests you might have. It also provides an opportunity to inquire about the AC and hot water systems if those are concerns for your stay.

In conclusion, TownePlace Suites by Marriott® Grovetown presents a compelling option for locals in Georgia, particularly those in the Augusta and Grovetown areas, who require extended-stay accommodations. Its suitability for our community largely stems from its design as an extended-stay hotel, offering spacious suites with full kitchens that truly provide a home-like experience. This is invaluable for families relocating, individuals on long-term work assignments at Fort Eisenhower or local businesses, or even those undergoing home renovations. The hotel's newness, combined with comfortable beds, nice decor, and praised cleanliness by some guests, further enhances its appeal. The convenience of its location near Walmart and other amenities, along with its pet-friendly policy, makes it a practical choice for many.

However, potential guests, especially families, should be aware of the serious concerns raised in some customer reviews regarding inconsistent front desk service, particularly the very negative experience described with a specific manager and her interactions with children. While core physical amenities like the beds, kitchens, and breakfast are well-regarded, issues with the motion-activated AC and hot water temperature could impact comfort for some individuals. For locals prioritizing a full kitchen, new facilities, and a pet-friendly environment for a longer stay, TownePlace Suites offers many benefits. It's best suited for those who appreciate the extended-stay format and are willing to communicate any in-room comfort or service issues directly with the hotel management to ensure a pleasant stay.

I’m just following back up after my wife had taken our two children on a solo trip by herself to visit her brother for his Military graduation. She felt badly because this was a gift from her brother and colleague and she felt ungrateful. We have collectively stayed at several other locations since this trip and we can’t help but compare the service. And truly we have never encountered what she encountered here at this hotel. Tru by Hilton, Avid, and several others have far surpassed the experience and expectations that we had to go off of after her experience here. The management singled her out so much so that even other staff members told her to take pictures of the room in case she would unfairly charge her since she (the manager that singled out our “chaotic” kids (sarcasm)) was the one to do inspections and add check out charges. That same manager was standing at the front desk and wouldn’t assist my wife getting our son who was locked inside 100 feet away when a door to the pool closed before she could catch it when telling her brother he had to leave. A guest staying at the hotel had to open the door while this manager just watched next to the front staff. This was after telling my wife her brother who booked the and his two children couldn’t stay to swim with my children. There was no one in the pool. The room was a 2 queen room. Because we have learned after traveling more over the holidays that it in fact isn’t the norm, that our children were absolutely respectful and likable, and that they could have fun while we traveled we felt it was appropriate to follow up with a final review of how completely unacceptable her experience at this location was. Our 4 year old still refers to it as “the one place with the mean lady.” (Alecia who made it very clear she didn’t like my wife or children since they arrived) This specific complex has very nice hotels in the same parking lot and I highly recommend you save yourself the stress and disappointment and try any one of the others.

*Military Family* we won’t be coming back and instead of extending my stay here an extra day we will be moving next door to one of the other very nice hotels tomorrow due to poor conflict resolution skills and the way my kids were referred to and treated by Alecia and Management. This was my first trip to come out to see my military brother for his warrant officer graduation. I have never booked a hotel before this and it was my first solo road trip with my kids. My brother and his military colleague booked the room for me. When I got in there was an issue because i needed credit card authorization. That wasn’t made known to me until after they told me I needed that card on file or I had to pay. Alecia was very callus and didn’t seem interested in resolving it. After I called my brother and he told me he would figure it out and call his friend Eric that’s when she told me about the credit card authorization form. I asked her why she didn’t tell me before and she responded with “I didn’t have a chance.” Which was not true and I reminded her of the options she told me. Which she responded with “Well I’m telling you now and I need form of payment or you need to leave.” It had been a 9 hour drive with my 2 small children and the first time I had ever done this the road trip the hotel all of it. The rest of the staff have been wonderful here but then Alecia’s attitude continued to single us out. she would ignore us when we walked in but greeted other guest. We felt uncomfortable talking to her in person so I tried to call the front desk from both my cell and my room phone for extra towels. which are on file. it was a dead lobby when we walked in and when we walked out. There was another receptionist there and I asked her if there was trouble with the phone that I had tried 6 times with different phones the last half hour but couldn’t get through. So we tried it there and it worked just fine. I have a strong suspicion that Alicia was ignoring our phone calls. I asked that receptionist if we could get some extra towels because my brother was coming to swim with his kids which she then offered more room towels and to check for pool towels to see if they were still at the pool. While the other person was helping get us towels we wanted to buy some things from the freezer and the lobby which Alecia offered no help and continued to ignore us. so I told my son that we would ask the other person when they got back. He asked why not and I said because she’s not being very nice. When someone else came in she was very quick to greet them and say welcome back! That is when I asked for her name and asked for management. When management came out, she nodded gave a short apology and then immediately turned And said that the lobby can’t be chaotic and my brother and his 2 kids had to leave because the pool was for guest only. They had just gotten in.The only thing that happened was that before I asked to talk to her, they had knocked some pillows on the floor from the lobby couch. I asked my brother to take the kids to the room. it wasn’t even three minutes that they were in the lobby. They stayed on the couches Until they went to the room before she got out there. My son had left his shoes near me. I told her that they were being managed, and we would absolutely clean up after them And that no one told us they weren’t allowed and then she just repeated herself. I told her that I don’t understand why my kids are being singled out and she said they’re not we are having a conversation and then repeated herself and the kids and told me to enjoy the rest of our stay. There was no resolution with Alecia and it was turned back to us. When I went to tell my brother he had to leave by the pool he had my card key and the door shut locking my 2 year old that was with me inside. He screamed and cried. He was scared and management and the front desk sat there until Another guest passing through opened door to help him get back to me. It was a good two minutes and the desk is only like 100 feet away.

Outdoor fire pit does not work, pool has been closed for a week & a half, outdoor chair cushions are not taken in or covered so they are always soaking wet, there are supposed to be kitchen items for loan, but small things like dry ingredient measuring cups, an ice bucket & spatulas are not available. Guests are fussed at for being the outdoor seating/grill area after 10p though no signs are posted indicated that it’s off limits after a certain time. You have to ask to borrow remotes for the public space tvs & that often comes with fussing as well. The front desk doesn’t have access to all consumable/linen items, so if you’re not able to catch housekeeping you’re most likely out of luck. I’ll be writing a more thorough review on the staff & their treatment of guests once I check out, but these things are affecting the quality of my stay & I think it’s important others be aware before booking.
