The parking lot was horrible with no space to park, and it was not cleared from the snow. My check in at Days Inn was horrible. I notified the front desk that I would arrive extremely late. The person reassured me that it would not be a problem. Upon arrival there was no one present at the front desk. I stood at the front desk for some time waiting on the clerk. I picked up the front desk phone, and the cell phone under the desk rang. I allowed it to ring for some time hoping someone would arrive. I walk around the first floor in hopes of finding the desk clerk or housekeeping to no avail. I saw posted numbers and attempted to reach out to Day's Inn staff to no avail. The bulk of the numbers were no longer in service. Some guest came out and attempted to assist. I reached the elevator person who was unable to assist. This went on for what I believed to be 60 minutes plus. We located our reservation on the front counter and keys next to one of the computers. We grabbed the keys and entered the room from a long exhausting drive. The next day I shared my concerns to the second shift person who found the incident to be humorous. I asked for the Manager and was told the person was on vacation. There has not been any follow up. This was the worst experience I have ever endured. Although the room was clean, the customer service was reprehensible. If an emergency occurred, I should have been called. I am still dealing with the aftershock from this ordeal.
For local users in and around Watertown, NY, seeking accommodation through platforms like "Hotels Near Of Me," the Days Inn by Wyndham Watertown Fort Drum NY presents itself as a straightforward, budget-friendly option. Situated at 25940 US-11, Evans Mills, NY 13637, USA, this hotel is part of the widely recognized Days Inn chain, a brand known for providing essential amenities for travelers. This introduction aims to offer an objective overview of the hotel's environment, services, features, and incorporate insights from recent customer reviews to provide a balanced perspective.
The hotel's environment benefits from its location in Evans Mills, specifically on US-11, offering convenient access to Fort Drum, a major military installation in the region. This makes it a practical choice for military personnel, their families, and contractors. Its proximity to a main road also suggests easy access to other local attractions and amenities. While not described as being in a bustling urban center, its setting in Evans Mills provides a more relaxed atmosphere compared to a city hotel, yet remains accessible to essential services. The property offers free self-parking, including spaces for large vehicles, which is a notable advantage for guests traveling with cars, especially given the concerns raised in one review about parking lot conditions in snowy weather.
Days Inn by Wyndham Watertown Fort Drum features 57 air-conditioned rooms spread across three floors, with some rooms also being suites. The hotel aims to provide fundamental comforts for its guests. Common in-room amenities include flat-screen TVs with cable channels, mini-refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee/tea makers, which are convenient for preparing snacks and beverages. Guests can also expect iron/ironing boards and hair dryers. Complimentary wired and wireless internet access is available in all rooms and public areas, ensuring guests can stay connected. Some rooms are equipped with deep-soaking bathtubs, and accessible rooms are also available. The presence of a larger-than-usual TV, as noted by one reviewer, could be a positive feature, though its quality was not assessed in that feedback.
A key service offered by Days Inn by Wyndham Watertown Fort Drum is the complimentary continental breakfast, typically served daily from 6 AM to 9 AM. This can be a significant cost-saving benefit for guests. Other amenities include a fitness center (gym) for those wishing to maintain their workout routine. The hotel also provides a 24-hour business center with a computer and printer, catering to business travelers. For guest convenience, there are self-serve laundry facilities, a 24-hour front desk, an ATM/banking service, and vending machines. Barbecue grills are also available on-site, offering an option for outdoor cooking and social gatherings. The hotel is a smoke-free property, and while some general listings mention pets being allowed, specific reviews and official booking sites generally state that pets are not allowed, or only service animals are permitted, so it's crucial for guests with pets to confirm directly with the hotel.
However, an objective review must also address customer feedback, which provides real-world insights into the hotel's operations. Recent reviews for Days Inn by Wyndham Watertown Fort Drum highlight significant concerns, particularly regarding customer service and certain aspects of the facilities. One highly negative review details a "horrible" check-in experience, where the front desk was unattended for an extended period, and attempts to contact staff via phone numbers (some out of service) were unsuccessful. The guest eventually had to locate their reservation and room keys themselves. This review critically points out a "reprehensible" customer service and a lack of follow-up from management, expressing deep distress over the "ordeal." This is a major red flag for potential guests concerned about reliability and emergency assistance.
Another review offers a more mixed perspective, listing both pros and cons. Positives included a clean room, a new hair dryer, quietness (though potentially due to low occupancy), a large TV, and the provision of adequate toilet paper and shower dispensers. However, the cons were substantial: the breakfast was described as "pro diabetic ‘foods’" with limited protein options, stale bread, and sugary items. The review criticized the quality and variety of the breakfast. The reception service for a late checkout request was described as unaccommodating, with a staff member in a bathrobe making the request seem "extremely demanding." Issues with finding the rear entrance were also noted, suggesting poor signage. Furthermore, the review pointed out a flaking chair and a "rock solid" mattress, along with "extremely small & square" pillows, indicating discomfort and wear in room furnishings. Ultimately, due to these "cons," the reviewer did not recommend the hotel.
Promotional information for Days Inn by Wyndham typically emphasizes their commitment to friendly service and value. They often highlight free continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and convenient locations. While the hotel does provide these advertised features, the customer reviews suggest that the execution of services and the overall quality of certain amenities may fall short of guest expectations. The proximity to Fort Drum is undeniably a strong selling point for specific segments of travelers.
In conclusion, for local users of "Hotels Near Of Me" considering the Days Inn by Wyndham Watertown Fort Drum NY, it offers a functional base with essential amenities like free breakfast, Wi-Fi, and parking. Its location near Fort Drum is a distinct advantage. However, potential guests should be fully aware of the serious and consistent negative feedback regarding customer service, particularly the unattended front desk and unresponsive staff, as well as concerns about breakfast quality, general maintenance, and room comfort. While the rooms may be clean, as some reviews indicate, the overall guest experience, especially concerning staff interaction and certain amenity standards, appears to be a significant area of concern for many recent visitors. It is advisable for prospective guests to carefully weigh these reported experiences against their personal priorities before booking.

Feb 26, 2025 · Deandra JonesPros : Lots of parking; New hair dryer in the room I was in; Room was clean; Quiet (may well have been to lack of clients near my room); Bigger than usual TV, but did not use it, so unaware of quality, etc.; Two rolls of toilet paper ready for immediate use (instead of only one); and Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash dispenser in shower. Cons : Breakfast - Pro diabetic ‘foods’. Nothing with protein, except small yoghurts with lots of sugar. Stale bread, jam (not even cheap peanut butter), two types of small muffins, granola bars, fruit loops / Frosted Flakes, juice, coffee and a waffle maker with table syrup; Reception : Asked for a late checkout, which when I usually need one, hotel staff are always accommodating. The individual in a bathrobe (it was close to 22:00), made it that even a 11:30 late checkout was extremely demanding (I asked for noon), but stated with lots of effort that he’d advise the manager; Reception : Was told that the best entrance was from the rear to reach my room. I drove around twice to make sure that I did not miss it, being that I only saw a metal gray metal door which seems to only be an emergency fire exit door. So I did stop and saw that that door was indeed accessible. Would be an excellent idea to either adequately inform clients that that door is the rear entrance or put a low cost sign above the door; Chair : Needs to be changed. It is flaking where a person’s rear knees would be, when sitting; Mattress : Rock solid. Rare that I’ve been to a hotel with such a hard mattress; and Pillows : Extremely small & square. Due to all cons, I do not recommend this hotel.
Jan 27, 2025 · Terence NickleI stayed here while I was in the area for work. Harry and his crew were very hospitable. The room and the common areas were very clean. Good location, close to restaurants and a Walmart. I had to extend my stay a few times and the staff were always available and very helpful. I travel around the country for work and this was hands down one of the best stays I've had in a long time. I'll be staying here again when I return to the area.
Dec 05, 2024 · Heidi SoltermanI had the pleasure of staying here on Dec 25th night. The hotel is in a great location, pristine and very responsive staff. Large modern rooms and bathrooms. Will definitely stay here again. Thank for a great stay and a good price for my family of four.
Dec 27, 2024 · JoAnne GittensWe stopped at this hotel for one night during our road trip, and it was a decent place for a short stay. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made our check-in process smooth and pleasant. Our room was clean and comfortable enough for a good night's sleep, though it was fairly basic and could use a few updates. Overall, it served its purpose for a quick stopover, and we appreciated the friendly service. If you're looking for a no-frills place to rest for a night, this hotel will do just fine.
