As someone who frequently writes reviews for the places I stay, I always aim to provide honest and constructive feedback. Unfortunately, my experience at Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Laurel Near Fort Meade was profoundly disappointing. Check-In Issues: Upon arrival, the front desk staff was unhelpful and unprofessional. There was a line of guests waiting to check in, and the staff was nowhere to be found. One gentleman mentioned he had been waiting for over 15 minutes. Room Conditions: The carpeting throughout the hotel was stained and dirty. The room itself had a musty odor, and the furnishings were outdated and worn. Gym Facilities: Accessing the gym was a hassle; the front desk had to provide me with three different keys before one finally worked. Once inside, the equipment was subpar. The treadmill was old, couldn't maintain a consistent speed, and was covered in sweat stains. The rest of the equipment was in poor condition and barely usable. Safety Concerns: At night, the hallways were noisy with people yelling and running around, making it difficult to sleep. The surrounding area felt unsafe, with buildings featuring barred windows and graffiti-covered walls. Policy Red Flags: A sign at the front desk stated that guests couldn't stay longer than 21 days without checking out, which raises questions about the type of clientele the hotel caters to. Booking Issues: I attempted to cancel my reservation due to these issues, but since I booked through Expedia, I was unable to do so. I've included photos with this review to provide visual evidence of the conditions described. Bottom Line: I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. For your comfort and safety, consider alternative accommodations.
For travelers seeking an economical and straightforward stay in the heart of Maryland, the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Laurel Near Fort Meade presents itself as a practical option. As part of the globally recognized Wyndham family, this hotel aims to provide fundamental comforts and conveniences for guests visiting the Laurel area, especially those with connections to Fort Meade or exploring the wider Baltimore-Washington corridor.
It's important for potential guests to have a clear understanding of what to expect, as experiences can vary. While some aspects of the hotel, like the physical condition of certain areas or staff availability, have received critical feedback from past guests, the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham brand typically focuses on delivering essential amenities at a value-conscious price point. The hotel officially offers features such as free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour front desk, and a fitness center, aiming to cover the basic needs of a traveler.
One common point of contention, as highlighted by a customer, concerns discrepancies in advertised services, such as complimentary breakfast. While many Days Inn properties do offer free breakfast, it appears this specific location may have had changes or miscommunications regarding this amenity, so it's always advisable to confirm directly with the hotel. Similarly, guests have reported issues with room conditions, including stained carpets and musty odors, and concerns about the functionality and cleanliness of the gym equipment. Safety concerns in the surrounding area and noise within the hotel have also been raised.
Despite these points, the hotel remains a choice for some, particularly given its potentially lower price point compared to other options in the area. For those prioritizing affordability and basic facilities, and who are willing to manage expectations, the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Laurel Near Fort Meade might fit a specific travel need. However, for a more comfortable or premium experience, or for those with high expectations regarding cleanliness and staff responsiveness, exploring alternatives may be prudent.

Jun 02, 2025 · Tim PayneI booked this hotel through Booking.com, and the listing clearly mentioned that breakfast was included. However, when I checked in, I was told that no breakfast was provided. This was very disappointing, especially since I had planned my mornings around that. The hotel should update their listing to reflect accurate information. Otherwise, the stay was decent, but this experience left a negative impression. Please provide the refund.
Apr 13, 2025 · Khushbu ParikhActually I was getting a place for my sister-in-law and her boyfriend to stay in for a while. The room they gave her didn't even have a microwave that part was disappointing. Also the service was not great borderline rude in a couple cases.
Jun 05, 2025 · Mike McDonaldBeware of this hotel and don’t trust booking.com with your money!!! booked here through booking.com and it was smooth until I got to the front desk and they tried to charge me a $100 damage deposit for the room that wasn’t mentioned anywhere on booking.com. I have screenshots and photos of the extra charge not being listed or mentioned on booking.com and I talked to a booking customer service rep who also said they didn’t see it the charge the same day I made my booking (March 28th). The problem isn’t the deposit itself it’s the fact it wasn’t there at the time I booked the room. I paid for the booking online through the app of booking.com and didn’t even stay in the room cause the charge wasn’t more than the room itself. I couldn’t get a refund that I was told I would get from the same booking agent I mentioned before, more so a week had passed and they failed to update me on the process of the “investigation” and when I called I was only then informed of the info that I wasn’t getting a refund from them after a week and I had to contact this hotel to get it. Disappointed I called this hotel on April 6 and explained everything to Debra the supervisor and she was very sarcastic, condescending and eventually rude telling me “it’s not our fault people don’t read” and “we don’t give out returns at all” even when I told her I visual proof in my email and photos I could show in person that this charge wasn’t there at the time. She simply says “I’ve heard this 100 times” and kept saying “it’s always been on 3rd party apps” when I in fact have proof saying other wise in front of me, that confirmed for me this hotel probably scams a lot of others this same way and they have no intention of helping anyone who uses their hotel services. Very disappointing. For reference I have a photo of my original booking which doesn’t show any room damage fee listed anywhere and I have a booking now where they just put it on the the booking website and it tells you before you even pay…now I know for a fact I couldn’t miss that.
Apr 06, 2025 · Kyron DarrellOutdoor upper walkway looks like it is literally crumbling, staff is unfriendly, it smells of urine outside, probably not a particularly safe neighborhood, very outdated, but the rooms other than stains in the carpet and being bit dirty are fine enough. Pretty disgusting place, but very cheap!
