This place was an absolute dump do not stay here. The first room we were given we pulled the bed out and found a pile of vomit behind the bed and on the bed sheet not to mention the filthy filters, unpainted walls, and just completely run down. These people do not clean. Even the outside of the building as you drive up you know you've picked a bad hotel. The entire place is run down and filthy. After reporting the vomit the gave us another room and we check that one out and it was just as filthy. We pulled the bed out and there were food crumbs all over the floor and the bed and mold and dirt on the bed sheets. Again the overall condition of the room was a dirty and run down with walls unpainted and patches where they fix the drywall were visible. Then when we demanded our money back they told us they couldn't do that and had a different room for us. Then they showed us what must have been their best room. It was much cleaner but still when you pull the bed out you could see there was some dirt. Again it's obviously these people do not clean well. The entire condition of the place, the building, and all the rooms are run down. The pictures included show the vomit and the other pictures are the ice bucket in the good room look closely this was our ice bucket that we should put ice in, which by the way the ice machine was broken. What you see inside the bucket is ashes and garbage. Again these people do not clean!

Econo Lodge Douglassville-Pottstown Introduce

The Econo Lodge Douglassville-Pottstown, located at 387 Ben Franklin Highway, US-422, Douglassville, PA 19518, USA, positions itself as an "easy stop on the road" for travelers seeking economical accommodation in the region. For those searching on a "Hotels Near Of Me" platform, this establishment is situated between Reading and Pottstown, offering access to various local attractions and services. While it aims to provide a budget-friendly stay, an objective review based on available information and recent customer feedback is essential for potential guests to set appropriate expectations.

The environment of the Econo Lodge Douglassville-Pottstown is primarily defined by its roadside location on US-422. This positioning offers practical accessibility for travelers driving through the area. The hotel features a two-story structure with exterior corridors. While some descriptions mention a garden, it's important to note that the overall impression from recent guest reviews often points to a property that is "run down" and in need of significant updates. The external appearance, as described by some, might give an immediate impression of its condition.

Despite some challenges, the hotel's location provides proximity to several points of interest. It is close to the Daniel Boone Homestead (approximately a 6-minute drive), French Creek State Park, and Maple Grove Raceway. Other nearby attractions include the VF Outlet Village, Penn State Berks University, Ursinus College, and the Santander Center arena. For shopping, Berkshire Mall and Philadelphia Premium Outlets are within reasonable driving distance. The rural setting offers a quieter atmosphere than a bustling city center, which may appeal to some guests, but the overall upkeep of the property itself remains a recurring concern in public feedback.

Regarding services, the Econo Lodge Douglassville-Pottstown offers a range of standard amenities typically associated with a budget hotel. Guests can expect a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that assistance is available around the clock. Free self-parking is provided on-site, a valuable amenity for those traveling by car, and wheelchair-accessible parking is also available. For electric vehicle owners, an electric car charging station is a convenient addition. Free WiFi is accessible in both public areas and guest rooms, allowing guests to stay connected. The hotel also features laundry facilities, a vending machine for snacks and drinks, and a snack bar/deli. Coffee and tea are available in common areas. For business travelers, access to copy and fax services is offered.

It is important to note, however, that some reported inconsistencies exist regarding advertised services. While a complimentary continental breakfast is generally listed as an amenity for Econo Lodge properties, some recent guest reviews indicate that it may not always be provided or may only be available on weekends. Guests are advised to confirm breakfast availability directly with the hotel. Similarly, while amenities like hair dryers and ironing sets are listed as available, some reviews suggest they might need to be requested from the front desk, or their functionality could be inconsistent.

The features of the guest rooms are designed for basic comfort and utility. The hotel offers 36 individually furnished rooms, which include air conditioning, 37-inch LCD TVs with premium channels (such as CNN, ESPN, and HBO), refrigerators, and microwaves. Desks are also provided for convenience. Some rooms may feature balconies. Bathrooms are equipped with shower/tub combinations, and some rooms are advertised with deep soaking tubs, though the actual condition and cleanliness of these facilities have been subject to negative feedback. The hotel offers both smoking and non-smoking rooms, and accessible rooms with features like roll-in showers are available. The property is pet-friendly, allowing dogs and cats up to 25 lbs, with an extra charge of USD 15.00 per pet per night and a deposit of USD 100.00 per stay. Service animals are exempt from fees. Guests with pets should note that pets cannot be left unattended and specific pet-friendly rooms must be requested.

Promotional information from the Econo Lodge Douglassville-Pottstown typically highlights its affordability and convenient location. It aims to provide an "economical" stay for travelers. However, potential guests should be aware of the consistent and significant negative feedback from recent customers, primarily concerning cleanliness and the overall run-down condition of the property. Reviews frequently describe rooms as "filthy," citing issues such as vomit behind beds, mold, dirt on sheets, unpainted walls, visible drywall patches, and general disrepair. Issues with amenities, such as broken ice machines, non-working outlets, and slow drains, have also been reported. While the hotel offers standard services and amenities, these negative cleanliness and maintenance concerns are paramount for any prospective guest using a "Hotels Near Of Me" search to consider.

Given the recurring nature of these issues in customer reviews, it is strongly recommended that any individual considering a stay at Econo Lodge Douglassville-Pottstown contact the hotel directly at (610) 385-3016 or +1 610-385-3016 to inquire about the current condition of specific rooms and to confirm the availability and functionality of advertised amenities and services. While the hotel's competitive pricing may be attractive, guests should temper their expectations regarding cleanliness and overall property upkeep based on the extensive public feedback.

So to start I thought it would have been a better place to stay. Although my entire 3 week stay was to start Pleasant they managed to get two cash deposits from me and when it came down to me checking out they refused to give me my deposit back and told me I had to wash the dirty towels because they can't use them for other guests. Which makes no sense. What is housekeeping for? So I called cops and they tried to tell the officers if I want it back I need to wash the towels cuz they can't use them for other customers.. Oh and make sure to read all documents or papers they make you sign before you check into this place.. oh don't set the smoke alarm off even if a smoking room. because it calls the fire department and they'll beat down like you're running a drug lab or something and the alarm it's so loud and they do not shut it off until after the fire Department gets there... talk about embarrassing...

Horrible- horrible - horrible. We didn’t even stay because we took one look at the room (smell was horrible, water was flowing from beneath the toilet, the air conditioner did not even come on, bad scrapes and dirt on walls). It was a scary, sketchy room. We went back to the front desk and said we could not stay there and they refused to refund our money. Do not reserve a room here.
