It is a great place to sleep. The beds are comfortable, the pillows are just right. Everything works in the rooms. The staff is very nice. For this price it is better than you can usually hope for.
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area, particularly for those looking for an economical option close to attractions like Hershey Park, the Econo Lodge Harrisburg - Hershey at 1006 Briarsdale Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17109, USA, often appears as a choice. The "Hotels Near Of Me" category focuses on providing readily available and locally convenient accommodations, and the Econo Lodge brand is known for offering budget-friendly lodging. This hotel aims to cater to travelers seeking a straightforward and affordable place to stay, providing basic necessities at a competitive price point.
The environment at Econo Lodge Harrisburg - Hershey is geared towards a no-frills, functional stay. For guests primarily seeking a place to rest, some find it a "great place to sleep." The hotel's location on Briarsdale Road positions it within a commercial area, offering convenient access to major roads and local businesses in Harrisburg. This means guests can typically expect a setting that is practical for travel, with amenities and dining options within a short driving distance. However, unlike properties focused on luxury or extensive amenities, the environment here is designed to be purely utilitarian. It's important to note that the immediate surroundings are typical of a roadside hotel, focusing on ease of access rather than scenic views or expansive grounds.
The services at Econo Lodge Harrisburg - Hershey are intended to be basic yet sufficient for budget-conscious travelers. Some positive feedback highlights that "The staff is very nice," indicating that individual interactions can be pleasant. The hotel aims to provide essential services such as check-in and check-out procedures. However, severe concerns have been raised regarding the overall service quality and staff conduct in other instances. Reports of staff treating customers, including those with disabilities, in a "dehumanizing way" and being "unprofessional" are significant. Allegations of staff "stealing my MIL’s belongings after leaving her room for an hour" and then laughing instead of helping to call the police are deeply troubling and suggest a severe lapse in customer care and security. Furthermore, issues regarding communication about checkout policies, aggressive language like "kicked out," and a perceived "lack of responsibility" regarding guest belongings paint a picture of highly inconsistent and, at times, very negative service experiences. This indicates that while some staff may be pleasant, there are serious deficiencies in professional conduct, conflict resolution, and hospitality standards that potential guests should be aware of.
Regarding features, Econo Lodge Harrisburg - Hershey aims to provide fundamental comforts in its rooms. Positive reviews mention that "The beds are comfortable, the pillows are just right," suggesting that the core elements for a good night's sleep are present. Additionally, "Everything works in the rooms," which is a crucial aspect for a basic hotel. This implies that essential functionalities like lighting, climate control, and plumbing are typically in working order. As a budget-friendly option, guests can usually expect standard amenities such as a television and a private bathroom. However, the serious allegations of stolen belongings, despite the door being locked, directly contradict the expectation of a secure and safe room environment, which is a fundamental feature of any hotel stay. The hotel's response to such allegations, as described in a review, suggests a lack of accountability and professional communication. Therefore, while basic room features might be present and functional for some guests, the overarching issues related to security and staff integrity cast a shadow over the reliability of these features for all guests.
When considering promotional information for Econo Lodge Harrisburg - Hershey, the primary emphasis is on its affordability and its convenient location for attractions in the Harrisburg and Hershey areas. The hotel is marketed as a "great place to sleep" at a price point that is "better than you can usually hope for," appealing to travelers seeking maximum value for their money. Its proximity to Hershey Park and other local destinations is a key selling point, making it an attractive option for those searching "Hotels Near Of Me" for a practical base to explore the region. As part of the Choice Hotels family, guests might be able to leverage the Choice Privileges rewards program for points and member-only rates, though specific promotions would vary. However, the strong negative reviews regarding staff conduct, alleged theft, and disrespectful treatment pose a significant counterpoint to any promotional messaging. Potential guests should weigh the advertised value against the serious concerns raised by past visitors, particularly concerning personal safety and the overall customer service experience, before making a booking decision. The hotel's online presence and lack of professional response to critical feedback can also be a deterrent.

Apr 23, 2025 · Zeeppo the ClownDisgusting place! The conditions are atrocious. The don’t treat customers with respect and they’re treating homeless people and those with disabilities in a dehumanizing way, despite the fact that they paid. They stole my MIL’s belongings after leaving her room for an hour. She made sure to lock the door behind her. The only other people with keys are the employees. Her important documents, clothes and personal belongings are all gone! And the employees just laughed at her instead of trying to help her call the police. Awful place with terrible employees. I’m sure they won’t respond because they don’t care. April 7th: Your response was not only unprofessional, but also riddled with grammatical errors, a lack of basic customer service etiquette, and an alarming level of hostility. Let me clarify a few things for you: 1. Lack of Communication: If there was a strict checkout policy tied to payment, it should have been clearly communicated to the guest, not handled with such aggression or disrespect. 2. Negligence: Placing blame on a guest for leaving their belongings unattended—when your establishment failed to offer even the most basic assistance or guidance—only underscores your lack of responsibility. Guests rely on hotels for safety and service. If items are lost due to your team forcing someone out without proper procedure, that’s on you. 3. False Accusations? The only ones doing that here seem to be your staff. There’s no need to fabricate details when the facts and timeline speak for themselves. Deflecting with rudeness doesn’t make you right—it makes you look guilty. 4. Unprofessional Language: Telling a guest they’ll be “kicked out” again if they don’t pay? Are you running a hospitality business or a street fight? The lack of tact in your message is shocking and frankly, embarrassing. Please take this as a reminder that customers—yes, even ones with grievances—deserve respect. I would suggest training your staff in basic conflict resolution, hospitality standards, and grammar, for a start.
Apr 07, 2025 · Akira AndrewsA cheap place if you're looking for a place to take a $3 hooker.... The place is in a good location, the shower had good pressure and hot water, the heat/ac worked in the room but the place is run down. The metal trim around the bathroom door is rusting, there were cobwebs, the flooring was worn, the bathroom sink faucet was not secured to the sink and there was only one trash bin which was in the bathroom. The morning we were leaving, my brother found a bed bug on a pillow on his bed. There were only two towels in the room for 3 adults and a child. There was a storm while we were there that left over an inch of sleet and ice. They didn't have someone to plow and treat the parking lot. Things could have been worse judging from some of the other reviews but I would not recommend staying here.
Mar 01, 2025 · Dave GarceauDon’t stay here when I got there the room I booked wasn’t available tho it was open on the choice hotels app, then put me in a lesser room twice. No discount at all, I got to the room and iy was disgusting like horrible. I know you get what you pay for but geez, it looked like it wasn’t cleaned, and there was mold, literally on the sink and in the shower and oozing out of the showerhead which I went and purchased my own cleaning products and cleaned it I remove the showerhead and took out a bunch of just black slut the floor or sticky and gross. There were remnants of bugs right underneath the sheets that you can see, I even purchased my own set of bedsheets. I also purchased my own towel and washcloth and bathroom Mattt even though I cleaned it I still felt dirty. I couldn’t really work because the desk chair was disgusting as well. It looked like they brought it in from outside the way that this chair looks it makes no sense. The buttons on the TV did not work, and the staff was pretty rude. When I asked for a solution I was dismissed and even given an attitude I didn’t even want to stay the first way because of how was the choice hotels said that they needed to give them a chance to rectify the issue, but I waited all day nothing and then the following day nothing I didn’t even get to move to move the room that I booked and on top of all of this, it was my birthday and I was horrible and upon checkout, I explained this to the front desk person, and she dismissed me and said that the person who checked me in would be in a couple days and I don’t live in the area so that doesn’t help me at all
Apr 30, 2025 · Alexander SantiagoMy first time staying here was 10/27/24 because I visited Hershey park. it's about 20-ish minutes away from the park so that's a plus. rates fair. but it smells weird in the hallways. Service was friendly enough, no bugs in my room (303) I initially was given room 203 and the HVAC unit in the bedroom didn't work, they switched me to 303 with zero attitude or issues. My only complaints are that you'll hear noise during the day, sounded like construction so that's not even their fault... and the lighting is so dim that it's kinda creepy, gives me nightmare on elm street vibes. Plus not all lights in the room worked. Toilet very noisy and makes a thump every time you flush it, I'm sorry to my neighbors because I KNOW they hear that, I literally feel it in my floor so I know... But overall, I give a 3/5. it's Econolodge, dont expect a luxury suite. it's very basic, but got the job done. lots of shopping/food options nearby. This is only my second time staying at an Econolodge, I definitely prefer the one I stayed at in Delaware.
