This is a low frills place. But it's clean, warm, safe, quiet. The management is great. Microwave and fridge in every room. I recommend bringing a French press or electric percolator because there's no coffee pot weird I know. Price is right for me
For local users in Frackville, Pennsylvania, and travelers exploring the surrounding area, the Econo Lodge stands as a budget-conscious option when searching for "Hotels Near Of Me." Located at 501 S Middle St, Frackville, PA 17931, USA, and available via phone at (570) 874-3838 or +1 570-874-3838, this hotel is part of the Econo Lodge brand, which is known for offering economical stays with essential amenities. It aims to provide a straightforward and affordable lodging solution, catering to travelers who prioritize value over an extensive list of luxurious services.
The Econo Lodge in Frackville is situated at 501 S Middle St, placing it within a practical and accessible area of the town. Frackville itself is a borough in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, known for its coal mining history. The hotel's location offers convenient access to local roads and is likely within a reasonable driving distance of Interstate 81, a major route connecting many parts of Pennsylvania. This makes it a suitable stopover for travelers passing through the region. While the immediate surroundings are not typically a tourist hotspot, the hotel's location provides proximity to local dining establishments and essential services in Frackville. The environment is described as "quiet" by some guests, suggesting it can offer a peaceful night's sleep despite its roadside setting. However, it's important to note that the broader environment, particularly within the hotel structure, has been a source of significant concern for some guests, with specific mentions of safety risks.
The Econo Lodge focuses on providing fundamental services and amenities that cater to the basic needs of travelers. A notable feature often highlighted is the presence of a microwave and refrigerator in every room, which are highly valued by guests for preparing or storing food, thereby saving on dining out costs. Free Wi-Fi is generally available, allowing guests to stay connected. The management is described as "great" by some, suggesting a helpful and accommodating approach from staff. The presence of friendly front desk staff, like "Jennifer at the front desk was very nice," also contributes to a positive initial impression.
However, an unusual point raised in reviews is the absence of a coffee pot in the rooms, with a recommendation for guests to "bring a French press or electric percolator." This is a peculiar omission for a hotel, even a budget-friendly one, and is a detail potential guests should be aware of. While not explicitly detailed, Econo Lodge properties typically offer free parking. Other standard services, such as a 24-hour front desk (though specific hours should be confirmed), are usually in place. The hotel also typically welcomes pets, although guests should verify any associated fees or restrictions directly with the property. The overall approach to services is geared towards efficiency and affordability, offering what is deemed essential for a brief stay.
The rooms at Econo Lodge are described as "low frills," emphasizing their basic but functional nature. Positive aspects highlighted by guests include cleanliness ("clean, warm, safe, quiet," and "clean enough") and the comfort of the space. The consistent availability of a microwave and refrigerator in each room is a significant feature that enhances the utility of the accommodations. The presence of amenities like air conditioning, TV, and private bathrooms are generally standard for such properties. The focus is on providing a comfortable and secure place to sleep.
However, there are critical and serious concerns raised in other reviews that potential guests must be aware of. One review explicitly states that the "place is a health and safety risk." Specific issues mentioned include:
The Econo Lodge's primary promotional angle, as suggested by its brand name and pricing, is its affordability. For local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" on a tight budget, the "Price is right for me" sentiment from a satisfied customer reinforces this value. It positions itself as a practical choice for travelers seeking basic comforts without unnecessary extravagance. The inclusion of in-room microwaves and refrigerators, along with free Wi-Fi, adds significant value for its price point.
However, the hotel's value proposition is significantly impacted by the serious negative feedback regarding safety and cleanliness. While the "management is great" and "staff were very nice," these positive aspects of service might not outweigh the fundamental concerns about structural integrity and potential health risks. The conflicting reviews on cleanliness ("clean" vs. "dirty") mean that potential guests should manage their expectations and perhaps consider inquiring about the specific room's condition or recent renovations. For those who prioritize safety and consistent standards of maintenance above all else, even at a lower price point, the serious nature of the reported issues should be a major consideration. The phrase "I would stay again if I absolutely had no other choice" from a guest who experienced both friendliness and cleanliness issues, encapsulates the hesitant endorsement, suggesting it serves as a last resort for some rather than a preferred option. Therefore, while the Econo Lodge aims to be a budget-friendly option, potential guests must be aware of the widely varying experiences reported.

Mar 06, 2025 · Rebecca ShottJennifer at the front desk was very nice but this place is a health and safety risk. Never mind how dirty it is, the roof in the bathroom appeared to be on the brink of collapse. The stairs on the right side of the building were only blocked off at the top, and as I went up I noticed they are about to give out at any moment.
Jan 24, 2025 · Tom JSo I was caught in a very bad storm and ended up booking this through Priceline. The room they gave me had the following problems. Cracked window. Damaged bathroom door. Stains on all the furniture. When I lifted up the comforter to check the state of the sheets they had hair and dirt. Mirror was dirty. I didn't agree to stay but no refunds apparently. Booker beware.
Feb 16, 2025 · Frank PalladinoWhere to begin. This is by far the grossest, most foul place I've ever stayed. Took pictures, which I'll upload if possible. The smoke alarm was hanging by 1 wire , the TV was smeared with some type of sticky filth, the heat/AC unit was hanging off the wall with exposed wires and the toilet moved significantly ever time you sat down. The entire room smelled of very old cigarette smoke. I'd literally rather sleep in my car than ever stay here again.
